I was late, and the reception was already closed when I arrived, but the lady stayed up for me and when I thought I’ll have to sleep on the streets, she let me in and had everything ready for me. Pros: The bathroom was lovely and the whole building itself is quaint. The bedroom was pleasant.
Cons: There was alot of dust behind the radiator. It was never cleaned since the beginning of time. There was also alot of dust behind the bedside tables. A few Marks on furniture. (I do property management so I have high expectations). Limited vegan options for breakfast. More hot vegetables would have been like such as warm potatoes and spinach plus avocado. My father says it needs new bedroom carpet. The bedroom needs a nice relaxing chair to lounge on. Bathroom needs more things like more beauty products. We paid 149 pounds for the room for one night. Certainly not worth the price. We have stayed in 4 star hotels for around the same price and expectations were surpassed. Shocked at having to pay 10 pounds for parking on top of the hotel price. Since hotel room didnt meet our expectations, the parking fee wasnt worth it. Since the hotel charges alot, it can offer free parking at least. Next time we go to Canterbury, we'll take the train for the day and stay elsewhere.

Pros: We liked everything about it. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, including tasty and unusual yoghurts. Eggs cooked when ordered.
Cons: Heating was off when we woke up at 8am, which was felt in bathroom the most.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, great breakfast
Cons:
7.0 Good
Pros: Range of cold breakfast foods. Staff very helpful - we asked for a different towel as ours was stained and they gave one straight away and were very apologetic.
Cons: The pillows were awful. They were like paper. So thin. Hardly slept. New ones needed desperately. I had to use a seat cushion and a spare duvet instead.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely stay, very kind staff, very chill and low key. Breakfast was lovely and the coach house is very sweet. Room was nice and warm
Cons:
6.0 Good
Pros: Liked helpful staff, great location and good breakfast and high standard of cleanliness
Cons: Room 2 that my daughter and I slept in was too hot & stuffy and bed was too small
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice house close to the city Center Nice people Good breakfast
Cons: Double bed is too narrow (room 6) No shower cap and only a ceiling shower .... not easy for people with long hair who do not wash their hairs every morning ! Should turn the light off In the corridor at night (no darkness in the room)
7.0 Good
Pros: Hotel nice and warm and comfortable a bit dated but clean.Breakfast was plenty but could have been hotter.

Pros: Interior, history, location, huge garden/park, breakfast, staff.
Cons: Frontrooms quite noisy, to secure privacy in the frontrooms they could well benefit from lace curtains. Even only lower half of the windows would do. Furthermore in the entire building the lightbulbs produced ultra white light: a warmer colour of bulbs would benefit the atmosphere enormously and add to the character of the magnificent house.

This left us refreshed for my graduation.

Cons: Disappointed that the fire alarm went off twice, no hot water in the morning, and they only took off 20% off one night of the hotel bill. Besides that it was good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lots of parking (at a price), friendly staff and nice rooms.
Cons: There was a staffing issue at breakfast on our second morning which meant it took two hours for breakfast to come and it wasn't great when it did. The staff directly involved were extremely apologetic and doing their best but no discount was offered upon check out for that breakfast.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Staff were very helpful
Cons: Upgraded to a double room charged £25 even though I had 2 single beds Took a shower in the upgraded room and was told it was leaking to the room below (asked not to used the shower} Offered a room to but was not available until after 6 but had a meeting at 5 .30 so agreed to use a another room to shower in the morning. TV controls did not work. ( night porter changed them} light side of the bed did not work Reception agreed to wave the upgrade fee and the cost of water and can of coke

8.0 Excellent
Pros: location, friendly staff
Cons: cooked breakfast could have been hotter when served. Coffee could have been better.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Can't beat the location.
Cons: Front desk staff were very unprofessional. One man at the front desk argued with me when I complained about a slamming door that kept us up all night, rather than trying to help! I had to investigate myself to solve the problem. Staff could use some lessons in hospitality. Also, I had to ask for my baby's cot 3 times, before it finally arrived at 10PM.

Cons: Carpets needed cleaning!

Pros: Decor
Cons: Breakfast on Sunday morning. The restaurant was incredibly busy and took a while for food to be topped up and tables to be cleared.
6.0 Good
Pros: It was close to walk to the centre of Canterbury
Cons: Room shabby. Peeling wallpaper. Noisy right next to the lift. Staff couldn’t cope with breakfast on Saturday morning, waited ages for tea/coffee and hot food had run out and took a while to be refilled after a few people told the staff.

Pros: Ambiance - a large Victorian building now outfitted as a hotel. Quiet room, good shower, full breakfast offering.
Cons: Bed was too soft for me ...
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location Look of the place. Parking
Cons: Room very noisy. Could hear people in next room like if there were in our room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice en-suite room with a comfy bed. Great to have black out curtains too. Everything was spotlessly clean. Lovely bathroom with little added extras of toiletries. Walking distance from town, great.
Cons: mattress protector needs to be cleaned or new one. Parking was tight, but it was a Friday and Saturday night, so not too surprised.

Pros: Typical UK breakfast - Nice
Cons: Larger selection of cheese
Best Western Abbots Barton Hotel has offered unique Kentish character to guests since 1927. Its Gothic style building dates back to the 1830s, and ensures all who visit return home with a few Canterbury tales of their own! Today, the hotel is ideal for those seeking the 'picturesque' and the 'personality' that Britain is famed for, with tasteful-yet-traditional refurbishment in recent years only adding to its appeal. Tranquil gardens mean there's as much peace and quiet to be found outside as there is within our 19th Century walls, and you'll find all the comforts and amenities of a first class modern hotel at every turn. The hotel has free onsite parking and is just five minutes' walk from the County Cricket Ground should you want to be bowled over by the tradition and intrigue of the 'Gentleman's Game'. Enjoy your stay.
With a stay at The City of Canterbury in Canterbury, you'll be a 2-minute drive from University of Kent and 6 minutes from St. Martin's Church. Free self parking is available onsite.

Pros: The suite room was amazing, very spacious, clean, beautifully furnished with en-suite, comfy bed. My adult daughter was even able to have some privacy using the sofa bed in the separate lounge area. Nick was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. Breakfast included a great selection of foods including yoghurt and fresh fruit. Location was great, we walked into the old town and had a lovely walk in the opposite direction. Private parking.

Pros: The hotel was charming! The room was large with big windows. The facility was very clean. The location was perfect - central to the attractions. The walk to Canterbury Cathedral was about 5 minutes and the train station about 10 minutes. The staff was very accommodating - we arrived early and were able to check into our room early as well. The staff allowed us to leave our bags after we checked out and were very kind to us. The breakfast was great and included in the price. We loved our stay here!

Pros: The size of the room was great and the location was good. We couldn't work out the wifi in the room but then we didn't ring up and report it either. The staff was very pleasant and with my disability, she carried my luggage up to my room with no problem. The cleaners were very helpful too and also arranged our room to a double bed which we booked as on inspection it was arranged as a twin room. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

4.6 Okay
Pros: The beds were comfortable, the shower was easy to use and the breakfast was lovely, with a very pleasant waitress, named Zoe.
Cons: The hotel is further than 5 minutes walk away, so, thank goodness it was not raining when we went for breakfast. The curtains could be thicker to block out more light. We could not keep the window open, so had to put a box of tissues in the window so that it did not close. We had several issues with our room which were not actually sorted out during our stay, although we had written down our issues and had reminded the receptionist every morning. For the last night, we were offered an alternative room, which seemed too much effort to move all our belongings for just one night. When i told a member of staff that our electrical issue had still not been mending on our last morning, i was informed that the electrician was on holiday. I am amassed that they do not have another electrician they could ask as a back up. We have stayed in much better, yet cheaper, establishments.

Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Room to small for one but was a double

Cons: I didn't like that you had to walk 10 minutes for breakfast. The first night we paid for breakfast locally as the times didn't suit us. Next time I would stay room only and do our own thing. The car park is a good 10 minute walk to the hotel so we parked the car and left it for our two days. I have mobility issues and having to walk your luggage that distance in all weathers can be a bit much. It's a shame there is no disabled parking or allocated parking in the private car park close by.
