Pros: Staff were helpful and lovely. Recommendations for restaurants were brilliant

Pros: This small, family-run hotel (20 rooms) is a lovely place, perfectly located in the uber-touristy town of Bruges, and professionally run. All of the service feels personally directed and is therefore pleasingly attentive. In a larger property many of the same services are available but are (sometimes necessarily, generally unnecessarily) delivered in an impersonal, imperfect way, leaving residual dissatisfaction -- at the Hotel de Castilion, however, all is done with style and grace and efficiency (and here I would particularly praise Nick, who was on duty for much of our stay). Our room was quite, quite nice (the Bridal/Honeymoon Suite, which I booked for its features and not on account of recent nuptials, verged on spectacular) -- I would also highlight the quality of the service staff, who efficiently and almost invisibly kept the room in top shape. Without question, if we ever wish again to brave the crowded tourist mecca that is Bruges, the Hotel de Castilion will be our refuge.

Pros: The location of this hotel is exceptional - close to the train station and near lots of restaurants, shops, and chocolatiers! We stayed in the family room for a girls’ trip and the space couldn’t have been more perfect. Cookies, chocolates, and other treats in the room and lobby were definitely a nice perk!

Pros: A very comfortable friendy hotel right in the centre of Bruges. The room was very well equiped it even had an iron and ironing board! The complimentary shampoo etc were very good quality and the belgian chocolates on the pillow were a very nice touch. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the train station and everything you could possibly want to see.

Pros: The hotel and the room is an exquisite experience on its own, with a perfect combination of elegant and luxurious atmosphere and modern touches all around that would please even the most demanding guests. The bed is one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in, and the bathroom was thoroughly clean, modern, and warm too, with an amazing bathtub and large mirror that even the pictures fail to capture. Overall, the included facilities are truly 5-star level, and overall the room truly makes you feel like royalty! The view from the room was the cherry on top, as you can clearly see all of Bruges' tall monuments from the windows, since the hotel is at the heart of the city's historic center. Last but not least, the staff is friendly, polite and very professional, and even had the generosity of surprising us with a small box of Belgian chocolates as a birthday gift. They also took care of our luggage both before the check in and after the check out, absolutely free of charge.

Pros: A beautiful hotel which was very comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel but had drinks in the bar a couple of times which was very pleasant. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. The pool complex was beautiful and relaxing, the only complaint would be the pool could have been made a little bigger. Saying this there were never many people there so it was not really a problem. The hotel is very central and the shops and attractions are nearby. We would recommend a canal boat trip.

Pros: Service from front desk staff is excellent and friendly. Rooms are large and very comfortable, with separate tub and large stand-up shower. You will sleep very well here! Lots of amenities but we didn't try them as we were only there for 2 nights. Good location, about a 5 minute walk to the Markt square.

Pros: The hotel was perfect for a weekend in Bruges. The staff were very friendly and helpful with tips on things to do. The location of the hotel was just perfect, so close to the centre of Bruges and also close to the train station. There are some good bars and restaurants just up the road from the hotel so on those extra cold nights, when you don't want to walk far, you don't have to! The room was spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. We had a great stay.

Pros: I got the room for $75/night from the usual $150-200 since it was Monday during the low season. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and right by the Lake of Love. All major attractions are within an easy 10 minute walk.

Pros: Had two rooms with family including myself and wife and two children, 6 & 8, and a 21 year old friend. The hotel is one of the best botique hotels I've ever experienced. The staff was great, spoke English which was important for us, the hotel room was incredible and the location is the best in Bruges.

Pros: Lovely boutique hotel with very nice large rooms. The staff spoke English and were super friendly and helpful which we appreciated after having just come from Paris. Wish we could have stayed more days to enjoy the spa. I would definitely like to return for a longer stay.

Pros: The hotel has retained enough of its original elements to enable you to feel the history of the building with beautiful flooring & chandeliers to create a chateau like feeling. Our room was huge with a four poster bed, beautiful old pieces of key furniture & a small private courtyard.

Pros: The property is in a great location and the beds are very comfortable. The extra beds are not so comfortable but you still pay a premium. It wouldn’t take much to upgrade these.

Pros: Excellent breakfast. A little expensive but you can eat a lot if you want to, and it is served in their amazing 15th century cellar! A warm, comfortable hotel. Slightly dated by today's standards but it is a 15th Century building, everything worked and it was really clean with everything you need. We paid for parking and you get your own garage! Great view over the canal and brilliant location for walking around Bruges.

Pros: It was a very homely property. The location was placed in a quiet, sleepy corner, which lay next to one of many canals. The receptionist were very nice, and helpful. I recommend it to everyone

Pros: The hotel is very cozy and clean. It is located a bit away from the busy part of the old town, but still close enough to walk around. The view from our room is also very nice, with the canal just outside of the window.
