Top tips for finding Bordeaux hotel deals

  • If you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Bordeaux, you should consider visiting during the low season. You'll find cheaper accommodations in Bordeaux in July and April.
  • Hotel room prices vary depending on many factors but you’ll most likely find the best hotel deals in Bordeaux if you stay on a Saturday. The opposite is true for, Sunday, which is usually the most expensive day.
  • Book at least 90 days before your stay begins to get the best price for your Bordeaux accommodation.
  • How long should you stay? KAYAK users usually book their accommodation in Bordeaux for 2 days.
  • Bordeaux is a well-connected and reasonably small city, so if you are on a tight budget, opt for a hotel a little further out but close to the tram line, which can get you to the centre with ease.
  • If you enjoy visiting museums, a hotel in the Pey Berland area is recommended as you will be close to the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Musée d’Aquitaine and the Musée des Arts décoratifs et du Design.
  • Every second year, Bordeaux holds the massive Bordeaux Fête le Vin in June. Be sure to check the dates as accommodation prices will go up and be booked out sooner. If you want to travel over this period, book well in advance.
  • If you want a stay with a difference, you can opt to stay on a houseboat on the River Garonne in Bordeaux. La Petite Annick offers four suites with river views and is moored near Bacalan and the Cité du Vin.
  • There are various hostels in and around the centre for backpackers looking for affordable accommodation and a social atmosphere. Central Hostel has a great location and offers private or shared dorms, as well as private rooms. There is also an onsite restaurant and laundry.
  • For nightlife, Gare de St Jean is the place to go and, in particular, Quai de Paludate, where many bars and nightclubs are located. ibis Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint-Jean and Hilton Garden Inn Bordeaux Centre are both located on Quai de Paludate, alongside the River Garonne.

Best Western Premier Hotel Bayonne Etche Ona - Bordeaux8.6/10 ratingout of 8 reviewsCentre Ville · $131 avg price/ night
CONS: The full breakfast for 17E was a glamorous continental breakfast, no hot food. We couldn’t get or buy just a croissant, but pastries and croissants were offered later for free. No ice available. No bar or lounge, just the small room they call a lounge/bar which is used for breakfast. Rooms are very small. We got the larger comfort room and it was small. No where to store clothes. We lived out of our suitcase for 3 days. No upgrade offered because we didn’t book through their website
