Pros: I asked for a quiet room and got one well away from the elevator at the end of a corridor. A bit of a hike to reception but perfect for us for our 3 night stay. Breakfast served until 10.30am which suited our late evenings out in the city and late dinners. the food being varied and plentiful with chef cooking station for omelettes etc Spar facilities looked good but we only used the pool and steam rooms and the jacuzzi one floor up on the roof. There relaxing beds for a snooze afterwards and a tea room all within the complex

Cons: 3 complaints : I was feeling very unwell on the first day of my stay. I rang reception and asked for someone to bring me a glass or bottle of water as I felt I couldn’t leave the room. The receptionist said « no, because she was on her own covering reception and there was no one else that could do it. » I also asked for an iron and ironing board 3 times during my stay, but they appeared to have lost it. I never got one. One day when there was torrential rain outside I asked if they had an spare unbrella for guests but they did not.

We had a ridiculous situation: asked for an iron on the first day, were told that THE iron is in someone’s room, but they don’t know in which, because they didn’t write it down. The situation repeated on day 2 and then on day 3. They really tried each time to use as an excuse the fact that they have only one iron and that they didn’t write down to whom the gave it because “it happened fast”/“un peu vite”. Apparently the staff really believed that these are valid excuses for a hotel. It was pretty important and very inconvenient for us since we brought clothes that had to be ironed.

There isn’t a do not disturber sign for the rooms and there isn’t a system to know who has checked out of what room at a time because you just put your swipe card in a bug jug with everyone else when you leave! As the result my partner was asleep on in the bed and I was in the shower, the cleaning lady came in to our room at 9,40 but check out is at 12,00 we had to ask her politely to not clean it then. Cons: Overall a nice stay at this ibis in Bordeaux, however we asked to be moved to a different room on the second day as the first one was too hot to sleep (around 26 degrees C). The staff told us that the air conditioning is set by the hotel and is currently on “warm” only (I guess given the season). However the second room was much more pleasant in terms of temperature.

Cons: Firstly I had to move rooms as my room smelt like sewerage it was disgusting! The cleaner must have noticed it as the bathroom drain was pulled apart and left like that. Once I was given a new room I couldn’t even have a shower as the hot water was out in the entire hotel... so I had a full day of sight seeing with no shower. As compensation I was only offered a free breakfast but I should’ve had much more than that.

Cons: No luggage service, so when u check out at 12 you have to take your bags with you around the city if u have a late flight or train. This is the first time i see a hotel that does not keep costumers bags after check out ! Toilet and bathroom very small, same size as airplane toilet. Also a bit smelly

Cons: Swimming pool was a bit of a faff to get into with locks and door codes but nice once I had found it . I tried one breakfast (12 euros) which was only continental (I’m more of a full English person). So I didn’t have another!
