Pros: The Hotel is placed in the main square of Athens (Syntagma), in front of the parliament and 3 minutes walking distance from the shopping area and from the historical part of the town. Within 15 minutes walking there is the Stadium Panathinaiko as well athe Acropolis, Agora and museums. The Hotel is located within an historical building, with three restaurants, including one on the 8th (top) floor with a spectacular view on the Parthenon and Acropolis. The Spa as well as the internal, heated swimming pool is very nice, also coupled with an efficient beauty saloon. Breakfast is served on the restaurant on 8th floor, and offers a wide variety of traditional or continental breakfast with the possibility to have more elaborated choices. The rooms (we had a room on the 5th floor, also named as Butler floor) which was a suite, equipped with two TVs, a large Queen bed and a very large bathroom, with Shower and bath. The service is always punctual. A note of merit to the concierge who helped us with many request, always providing an excellent service and suggestions

Cons: There wasn't anything I didn't like. I was pleased with staff, location, and room. Restaurant on top was beautiful with excellent service. We went up to rooftop for cocktails, and there was an amazing view.

The location was perfect, so much within walking distance with an abundance of adorable eating establishments with delicious food. The staff were second to none! Absolutely any request that we had was met with efficiency as well as a smile! 18 Micon Street comes highly recommended by myself and fellow traveler!!

Pros: The hotel is absolutely beautiful, from the stylish modern lobby to the sleek, well-appointed rooms. We were on our honeymoon and the staff went out of their way to make it special. They upgraded us to a suite with a view of the Acropolis and sent us welcome drinks and snacks. They also recommended a fabulous restaurant (Dionysus) and made us a reservation for a beautiful table. There was a lovely breakfast buffet included in the price of the room and we enjoyed eating at the hotel restaurant and having drinks at the intimate on-site bar. Overall, this was an excellent experience and we would absolutely stay there again. We didn't want to leave!

Cons: A bit expensive for what it is, but it seems Athens is now pretty expensive for good lodging. The definition of a "view on the Acropolis" is not what one would expect: yes you can see it, but far in-between two big ugly buildings in front of the street.

Cons: The view was a derelict building with cardboard boxes. The shower didn't work properly, had to use the extension shower head rather than the main unit. Beds were average but defenitely not what you expect from a 5 star hotel. The hotel messed up my booking and charged me upon arrival. This was poor for two reasons, one it was a gifted holiday for my birthday, and my family thought it had already been paid for, my family tried adjusting the length of my stay because I needed one day less in Athens but they said it can't be done as the payment had gone out, which is a lie because the payment obviously had not been taken so they made me pay for an extra day I wasn't there for. They picked me up from the hotel but charged more than what a normal can would do (40 euro standard rate) but you do get a drink in the car. Really disappointed when checking out to find a random 6 euro (3 a night) charge due to "tax".

Cons: A daily bottle of the water in the room would of been nice, and sadly..... The location of the hotel is AWFUL. I am just back from a 5 night stay, and felt increasingly unsafe walking around outside by the hotel, and generally anywhere which wasn't in exact sight seeing location. By the 3rd night, after seeing a pick pocketer going into a ladies bag just to the right of the hotel, I did not feel comfortable going outside in the dark, and we were back early in day light hours. The area on the streets is filthy, grafeffti everywhere, just very unnerving. The metro was equally as AWFUL, men loitering everywhere, watching you, making you feel very intimidated, therefore we had to get a taxi back to the airport at double the cost of the metro. A real shame as the hotel itself was great, but feeling so unsafe in the area outside by it, I could not recommend going back to Athens or this hotel. I have been to cities all over the world and never felt as unsafe and intimidated as I did here sadly.

We also had to check-out early. Although we were not able to go to the breakfast buffet (since it was too early) the hotel still provided a small spread for people in our situation, which was really nice (beats starting your day on an empty stomach).
Also, we arrived before the normal check-in time and they were able to get us a room. Given we had been in a plane for 9 hours and jet lagged out of our skulls, this was very very nice.

Pros: Rooftop restaurant has a view on the Acropolis. Food is execellent as well. That by itself made the hotel worthwhile.
We also had to check-out early. Although we were not able to go to the breakfast buffet (since it was too early) the hotel still provided a small spread for people in our situation, which was really nice (beats starting your day on an empty stomach).
Also, we arrived before the normal check-in time and they were able to get us a room. Given we had been in a plane for 9 hours and jet lagged out of our skulls, this was very very nice.
Cons: The bed was actually two twins pushed together. But given we had arrived earlier than the regular check-in time, this was a small oversight that I didn't even mention to the hotel staff. I was just happy to have a room.

Cons: The room = VERY dated, w/ discolorations & cracks in the walls. The bed = rock hard. The sheets = like paper. No duvet on the bed. Cleanliness of the room was questionable due to the agedness of everything in it. Smoke from outside seeped through windows.

Cons: I paid for an executive room but it didn't feel very executive. It was small for an executive room. The staff didn't really seem to care. The manager and one of his staff were arguing in front of us for quite some time so I assume things aren't happy there. We were left to take our own cases in and out of the left luggage. I have limited mobility and despite the manager seeing my husband struggling with cases , no assistance was offered. We had stayed at another hotel costing slightly less earlier in the week and the difference between the hotels was stark. I would not recommend this hotel

Cons: I did not enjoy that there was not a hot tub. A hot tub at the pool would have been great. I did not enjoy the smokers that were sitting near my on the outdoor patio. Once we arrived we were set to walk 10 minutes to restaurant not that far from our hotel room but when we set out to walk both streets around the hotel did not look safe even at 3pm daylight. We ended up taking a taxi both times we left the hotel due to safety reasons.

The breakfast has improved considerably and they have included a coffee machine and many more options for breakfast. The location is absolutely perfect. Right in the heart of everything. It is super easy to get a taxi as it is the only place that one can stop right out in front of their personal parking bay. Internet speed has also improved considerably. Many rooms have been made more comfortable with new mattresses and bedding plus new Tapware in the shower... staff are always friendly and accommodating. Overall I’m happy to return and recommend.
