The only slight annoyance was the number of times the counter rep suggested I purchase their insurance. I understand it’s their job to present this (profitable) option, but two offers is enough, I didn’t need the extra attempts. I didn’t like how they processed everything, too fast and didn’t have a choice of car. I would of liked a compact with trunk not hatch. And again fast with the check out, I wanted to pay cash and they didn’t even give us a chance to ask if we could. They were only concerned how many miles I put on, and that I parked in the return section. Mind you it’s snowing outside and their parking lot is a mess. Safety first? Lol mileage should be my last concern, And besides I’m paying.6.8 Okay

Car was obviously smoked in even though they claim a non smoking fleet.. It was like driving an ashtray with leather seats. Froze $200 of credit for 3 days past my drop off as opposed to date of pick up. Was very odd.Hertz

We had car trouble with the car we originally rented. But Ben and Doug from the Hertz in Roanoke came and picked us up quickly and got us going in a new car. They were wonderful. The emergency roadside assistance was poor. We were on hold for over half an hour before we got through. Then it took them over an hour and a half to pick up the car. Fortunately due to Ben and Doug, we got another car and didn’t have to wait for the tow.8.0 Very Good

The airport is very easy to get to and the Rental Car return lanes and parking lot are easy to find and get in and out of. The rental car counters are a very short walk and easy to find, and there are carts around to place your luggage on so you don't have to carry everything. The rental lot runners/employees are also very helpful if you have questions or need direction.Cons:

I had requested full coverage insurance for this rental. The agent who issued the car to me never added that coverage. Unfortunately I was involved in an accident and I was told that I wasn’t covered.Cons:

Car was perfectly clean, and had better features (forward automatic braking) than most rental cars.Cons:
Car was reported as full but came with 3/4 of a tank, though they did reimburse my refueling. Impossible to add a second driver without both drivers going to the desk, which is much stricter than any other rental company I have experienced.7.6 Good

I specifically asked for an American made car when I made the reservation. When I got there, all the agent would say “or similar”. He did change the Nissan to a Ford, but the. Charged me extra. I think it is immoral to charge me $10 a gallon for a full tank of gas, when I did not use the full tank. I sort of understand charging a premium. The gas supply is no doubt right next to the wash and detail area, so it cannot cost much more for the service folks to gas up the car. It's just another way, along with selling insurance, that the Hertz car rental system gouges the unsuspecting.8.0 Very Good

Even if you are paying a good rate, you should expect that the car would at least be safe. The front tires had NO tread left and i was having to drive in the rain! Every time I would start from a stop the tires would spin out!!! Yikes! And when breaking the antilock breaks would engage. Definitely one of the scariest drives I’ve driven!!! Also, I had no idea that the location was NOT on airport like all of the other locations! Someone should apprise you of this so you don’t miss your flight!!!7.2 Good
