10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunningly beautiful area with cute little cottages in the woods. Short drive to Shiratani Unsui Gorge. The owner was super attentive and kind. The wood-fire baths were unique and a great way to unwind after hiking all day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was there to help you relax.
Cons: Not applicable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location Lovely host
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The cottege is quite far away from the city center. Despite that the room was amazing and the host super friendly and helpful. Matsubanda is the best bus company in town, we lost a phone and the host and the company help us to retrive it and matsubanda bring it back to the cottage. Vary recommended
Cons: All is more than perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious and nice Japanese styled Villa, we were impressed!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay, one of the best on our Japan trip. The host came to pick us up from the ferry because we missed the bus. He also recommended some restaurants and even dropped us off since we didn’t have a car. Facilities are clean, quiet and overall very good. A private “onsen” is prepared for you when you get home after a long day of hiking. We wish we could stay longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Sen-no-ie located just few minutes drive from Miyanoura port/town and on the way up to Shiratani Unsuikyo, making it very convenient location if you have a car. The description for room and bathroom are a bit ambiguous so we really didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised that we got our own detached cottage as well as private detached bath facility! (they are separate and require walking). The cottage is large and charming, very clean and exceed all our expectation. The bath the star of this stay, you get private Goemon bath that staff prepared with fire wood everyday and shower that you can use anytime. Also don't miss chop stick making class, we really liked it. Laundry facility is great as well, they have washer and dryer as well as rack to hang up your clothes. We missed the few details since we didn't really guide book... but actually they can even get lunch box deliver to you in the morning if you going hiking next day. Be sure to take advantage of that! Also they provide Japanese style charcoal BBQ that you can reserve and bring your own meat and fish. We really want to try it but we ran out of time. The owner, wood working master, his wife and son are very warm and welcoming.
Cons: There is only one English speaking staff, so communication can be a bit complicated at times. This is really isn't their fault but they only except cash and getting money exchanged or atm on island is a pain! so if you stay there make sure you bring enough cash. Lastly you are staying in the wood next to river which is very charming, but there can be some bugs... we got 2 mr.spider a size of a baseball visiting our room, which my wife freaked out a bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cottages are very well maintained, great location and the owner was super helpful, giving us a ride to the ferry and umbrellas for our trip to Shiratani Ravine. The bus station is just a few meters away. For a proper tour of the island the best is to rent a car. Restaurants are quite limited in the area, so check on google before you want to have a dinner/lunch.

Overview Reviews
Located in Yakushima, Pension BLUE DROP is a 4-minute drive from Snake's Mouth Waterfall and 8 minutes from Toroki Falls. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property owner, Yuki was so wonderful and helpful. She helped me purchase my ferry tickets, organized a rental car to pick me up from the port, and gave amazing suggestions about things to do on the island (there's so much to see). The food offered here was also amazing (my friend and I ate breakfast here and also got the homemade bentos for our afternoon hikes), and the room was so cute and comfortable. It was like staying at a cozy family cottage. Will definitely come back if I get another chance to go to Yakushima.
Cons: I liked everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great ! The pension is beautiful, clean and perfectly equipped. The food offered by the host is super healthy and delicious, and the host are amazingly kind. This place is so great that I want to keep it secret :)
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Yuki is the best! She helped us with booking the ferry and the rental car, gave us helpful tipps and served delicious food. I will definitely stay at her place again when I'm back on the beautiful island of Yakushima. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very kind and food was delicious. We felt like family
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Yuki was very nice and helpful, she was informative and gave you appropriate advice on your trip, the pension was very comfortable and stylish, and the food was delicious
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cute bed and breakfast- only a few rooms so no problem sharing bathroom. Owner so nice and helpful!! Open air ‘wild’ onsen very close. Walking distance from izakayas for nighttime eating so the driver could also have a beer! Food at the hotel was also really delicious!!
Cons: Nothing much. That I couldn’t sit upright in the bottom bunk bed..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delightful and extremely helpful hosts. With 3 rooms sharing is no issue. Washing machine very useful. Wonderful food. Fresh fish caught on day, vegetables from garden and great cook. Location great but car recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Pension Blue Drop is a wonderful place to stay on Yakushima. The rooms and facilities are clean and cosy, and it is easy to reach by either car or bus (car is recommended though - Yakushima public transport is infrequent at best). It's also close to lots of nearby attractions like waterfalls and tidal onsen pools. But where Pension Blue Drop really shines is the amazing hospitality provided by Yuki and her husband. Yuki is a kind and caring host, making every effort she can to make sure your stay is the best it can be. She speaks perfect English, and will readily give you tips and ideas for things to do on Yakushima. And the food that she and her husband cook is beyond delicious. Freshly caught sashimi, home-grown fruit and vegetables, and hearty soups and stews - exactly what you need after a long day of exploring. I can't recommend staying here enough - Yakushima is an amazing, beautiful island in itself, but what makes all the difference is the hospitality and kindness you will experience at Pension Blue Drop. It is like nowhere else, and it makes it a truly worthwhile place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an awesome time, especially Yuki is a great host, she cares a lot and is lovely. We have taken all evening the sashimi plate, by far the best choice we made.
Sankara Hotel & Spa Yakushima - Yakushima - Building

9.4 Excellent (246 reviews)
Overview Reviews
When you stay at sankara hotel & spa Yakushima in Yakushima, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Yakushima Botanical Research Park and Toroki Falls. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was the most amazingly luxurious, beautiful, expensive hotel we’ve ever been to. The service was ridiculous (you could have a buggy ride to your room from reception, someone ran the bath for you) and the food was unbelievably delicious and presented beautifully.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in Sankara for our honeymoon and everything was perfect. The staff was very thoughtful and kind during our entire stay (small cushion for my back, little gift at the end). They picked us up at Anbo and they dropped us off at the airport. The room was clean and spacious. The food was excellent (the pain au chocolat was delicious). We highly recommand this hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, amazing location, but most importantly amazing staff. It is expensive, but you could not ask for more.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything else: the staff was incredibly thoughtful and focused in making this experience unforgettable. The rooms were perfect and the breakfast was very good and riched. We fully recommend this hotel.
Cons: The hotel was a bit far from the main activities on the highlands. There are no restaurants at walking distance. Therefore you need to rent a car either by your own or directly to the hotel (which can quickly become expensive). Also the options for reasonably-priced food are very limited in the hotel, so you can feel sometimes a bit pressured to overpay your meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely magical place and 5 star service!! We adored this place and its very special and personalized experience delivered by the staff!! Exceptional
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hotel, peaceful and luxurious
Cons: Nothing
La Isla Tasse - Yakushima - Bedroom
4
9.4 Excellent (162 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Enjoy your holiday on the island of healing waters and forests at the North American style pension La Isla Tasse
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a really nice stay at la Isla Tasse. The location is great, 10 minutes walking distance from the port, near some really good restaurants, bento shops and directly in front of the Ambo river. Also the room is quite spacious for a single room, there‘s no private bathroom but the 2 big bathrooms really make up for it (there‘s even a jacuzzi in each one of them!!). The breakfast was great, everything was spotless. But what made it worth the 10 is the great Miho-san who helped me as I checked in to order the rental car (which was then provided for me in front of the guesthouse), book some kayak courses, gave me advives on the trek and top things to do and she even drove me back to Ambo port after I checked out and so many other things, thanks again for you customer service it was fantastic :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - All the recommendations and help that provided me Miho-san, as well as her boss, were invaluable for making the most of my days staying at Yakushima. I immensely appreciate all the attention given. - The breakfasts were awesome. - All the facilities were spotless. - The room I had was quite big and very comfortable. - Regarding the location and some nearby facilities: it is just at less than 4 minutes walk from the bus stop which I used for going to Shiratani Unsuikyo and Yakusugi Land. Additionally, just in front of the bus stop there is a tiny shop that sells obentos in the morning. The rental shop for the trekking equipment is less than 15 minutes walk.
Cons: I have no complaints at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Miho's service and breakfast is nice! she will even drive you if you need to rent hiking equipment or go to restaurants! Of course the owner is also kind and helpful. Overall a great staying experience.
Cons: none.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very hospitable from Miho and her boss, and introduced very nice restaurant for the dinners. Do us great favor for travel guild.
Cons: The big bed was made up by two small beds, not comfortable for 2 adults and 1 child.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very european house, lovely decorated and a really nice garden directly facing Anbo river. Miho is the perfect host and serves probably the best breakfast in Japan.
Cons: Very slow internet
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful dining rand common areas in Europe style. Room with lake view. Big and well equipped common bathroom with Jacuzzi. Tasty Japanese breakfast in just right portion and variety. Friendly and helpful owner on activity advice and dining. It is a stylish and outstanding building by the lake.
Cons: A little pricey
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, comfortable and quiet. Miho, the host of the property, was exceptional. She went out of her way to ensure my stay was perfect every way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is helpful. He provides me advice on the trekking, and helps to order lunch box for me. The breakfast is very nice as well. It is a traditional Japanese breakfast, which is the best to start a whole-day hiking. It is clean everywhere.
Cons: Everything is good, none.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The owners could not have been friendlier or more welcoming for our one night stay. Though there was a bit of a language barrier (they don't speak much English) they got us situated right away, drove us to the bus office to buy a bus pass, and recommended an excellent sashimi restaurant within walking distance. Our room had an excellent view over the Ambk river and my mom and I slept like logs to the sound of lapping water. Divine! It was nice being right in town and would definitely go back if we return to Yakushima. Also I highly recommend springing for the Japanese style breakfast in the morning. It's a great deal at 500 yen.
Cons: Since the bathroom is shared (we didn't know that) there is some noise from other occupants coming and going down the hall at night. Not a big deal though and part of the program with a b&b style house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host is very friendly and nice! The breakfast is very delicious! The room is clean and tidy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Miho is the host of your dreams, can't get any better than this. She helped me to book a rental car (car was at the door next morning), recommended restaurants nearby and even drives you there if the way is too long. Additionally the breakfast is awesome, you should definitely choose this option. House is close to Anbo Port and with a rental car you can easily explore all of the island. Communication is easy and Miho is a genuinely nice person, highly recommend to stay at Miho's place.
Cons: My stay was too short

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. They are very helpful and cheerful. Will certainly visit there again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness Staff Rental equipment
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Naru was amazing! He kindly booked for our restaurant for the night. They have a dry room for hikers which was a plus.
Cons: Our room smells moldy + the tatami smell which I'm not used to. The ac is not working very well, as it takes a long time for the room to feel cold air.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owners are really kind and the bath is comfortable and really hot
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation is just absolutely recommendable! Nice staff which made everything to make us feel welcome.. super tasty breakfast and lunchboxes they made for our hike. You can rent hiking shoes and coats there for a good price. Also they have us nice recommendations where to have dinner. You can also wash your clothes there and coffee and tee are for free. A big supermarket is close and also the bus station is directly in the front. Thank you very much for everything!
Cons: The only thing (which isn’t really remarkable) is that the WiFi is sometimes not so strong ... but this is criticism on a high level!
7.1 Good
Pros: I loved the breakfast which was a traditional Japanese style and the Japanese bath was great. The staff were friendly and helpful-we got driven to the bus stop early in the morning.
Cons: I thought the room had a funny smell, it was a bit stuffy. The location was slightly further out than expected (about 15 minute walk to the town) which was not bad but something to consider if you don't like walking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very accommodating and pleasant. Arranged taxi as well for early morning transit
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was splendid. The staff was very friendly and always happy to help.
Cons: The internet speed was pretty slow.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 7 nights, and chose this guest house based on previous reviews. Probably because of end of year timing, there were no English speaking staff. The guest house was run by a very lovely elderly couple who ensured we were comfortable despite language barriers. This was the main reason for 5-star review. The tatami room was large and comfortable, but always smelt damp on entering. Had a sink in the room which was useful. The bath was just divine everyday after long hikes. We were the only guests for a few days, and realised the walls were quite thin on days with other guests. Most people were considerate of this. Free use of washing machine, dryer 100yen. Breakfast and dinners were great, traditional Japanese style - a must try. Ramen shop to the left of guest house is not on google maps - also a must try (just walk next door). We are a minute drive from large supermarket and yen store, and across from that is an amazing cafe/restaurant with top quality pasta and pizza, plus other fusion dishes. Perfect for a rainy slow day. Hired hiking for 2-days shoes for 1000yen. Very new and clean. They forgot to order our bento lunch boxes, and elderly gentleman was awake at 430am making rice balls for us that he would not charge us for. Very deserving of 5-stars and great to support a local family. Also check out Bless Yakushima in Anbo!

Pros: Staff were great. Very clean and private guest house style. Comfortable stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 1. The host is an old couple and they are so nice in introducing us about Yakushima (the popular restaurant nearby and the hiking route). Despite they can’t speak English, they used translate app to communicate with us. 2. The room is equipped with private shower room which is very rare in Yakushima. It is clean and tidy. 3. The homemade Japanese breakfast was so nice and the dishes changed everyday. 4. The location is so convenient with free parking space. Supermarket is just 1 minute drive away. 5. There is fridge, washing machine and drying machine for sharing.
Cons: 1. The room was filled with some smell.
Iyashino Minshuku Tonton - Yakushima - Building

9.5 Excellent (26 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Dinner was very delicious and thoughtful. If you ask them what you cannot eat, it will be fully awared.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Traditional Japanese Home. We had a really nice stay. The hosts are super friendly! The food is absolutely delicions. Make sure you eat dinner aswell as breakfast. It’s really not expensive and you get authentic japanese food. Dinner is not every day though, so check in advance.
Cons: Hosts don‘t speak english, unfortunately we didn‘t speak japanese either, so communication was not easy, but worked nontheless! We didn’t have a car, so the location was is not very convenient but ok if you’re flexible.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: One of the most authentic Japanese experiences I've had ever. Great local food, nice host, cozy decoration. The package is just superb given that I also went to other minshuku with good ratings and this one is just a little bit better in every single aspect.
Cons: Google Translate doesn't do all the job. The location was a bit off from major attractions. I might have been able to catch the last flight should the host notify me all foiljets and ferries were cancelled.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The accomodation is run by a very committed and friendly, charming and helpful family; japanese meals are extraordinarily good; we met only japanese fellow travellers; friendly atmosphere

Pros: 1. Spacious and cosy 2. Have sink in room 3. Excellent tatami 4. Various seasonings in kitchen, all free to use 5. Excellent location
Cons: Nothing.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for me, I walked from and to the the ferry port easily. It was also at walking distance to all restaurants and two big supermarkets. Check in and check out was easy and quick. The bathroom was very easy to use and very clean.
Cons: I have stayed at various guest houses and flats with futons and this one was really not comfortable, I had back pains every morning. Also, the walls are very very thin and I didn’t sleep well because I could hear the other guests talking etc until late. Because of this I don’t know if I would book again which is a shame as the location is very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place for couples and backpackers. Very close to the information center, restaurants and shops.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bathroom! Very unique. They will keep your bags in their shop, before/after check-in/check-out. Owner gave us a ride to the necessary building (they have number of them as I understood). Washing machine is free (they have 2 of them), and drying machine is 100 yen per use.
Cons: I haven't seen tea bags or something similar in the kitchen. I wanted to drink it late at night, and I didn't found the courage to go thought all places in the kitchen to find it, so I leave it as is. Yeah it's not a minus as is, but just a way to improve. Or reminder for other travelers to ask this things beforehand.
10.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: I absolutely loved the look of the hotel. The staff was INCREDIBLY friendly. Absolutely the best service I've had from a hotel. There was one particular staffer that really catered to my needs the entire stay. They helped me figure out the hikes I should go on, which buses to take, etc. There's a Japanese bath that's very spacious and an option for a stone spa if you want. I cannot rave enough about this place. It's just beautiful and next to a local restaurant called isso no kaoru.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.

The traditional Japanese style room is amazing - infused with smells of cedarwood and tatami matting.

Pros: Very nice hotel with spacious rooms AND a balcony facing the ocean. Great view!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: this hotel is 1 min walking from bus station No.61 CHUO, which is easy to visit the Giant Jomon-sugi. You can walk 5 min to a main bus terminal to buy day-passes and walk around 15 min to tourist information center. the island has only one surrouded road and you may not worry about missing way. the green hotel, its facilities and staffs are far more my expectation. the people there are very polite and friendly to schedule the travel route and call one viewing spot for whether they could take care of my lugguges. especially thanks to the pretty girl who helped check-in/out, ordered hiking-lunchbox and saw me off out of hotel. thanks for making my trip in yakushima memorable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and very spacious! The staff were always so helpful and polite, everything with a smile. ありがとうみなさん! I loved the free tea and biscuits in the room and the free onsen. Pros: Lovely, caring owners Amazing view on the sea and the mountain, (and no mention of the night skies), very peaceful "retreat". Convenient for families with a big garden and spadeful living room and kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful house in a magic garden. Secluded with wonderful view on mountains, which should be climbed (tough, early morning rise necessary to enjoy view from peak!) Hosts are very kind and helpful. Spacious room, house very stylish and beautiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was so beautiful with nice kitchen and bedroom, also the garden, felt like as if we were in Hawaii. The day we stayed had strong typhoon and had to stay at home. The staff was so prepared for everything, for instance, the water in case the water service is stopped etc... also told us what to see and what to do in Yakushima. We had a wonderful day! Definitely will come back!

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Marine Blue Yakushima in Yakushima, you'll be on the beach and steps from Nagata Inakahama. Featured amenities include luggage storage and a water dispenser. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was outstanding. Listened to the ocean waves each night as we slept. Private bath also really well received. Great, remote location if you have a rental car. Great to be near turtles and see them via the Local Turtle Conservation group's organised tours.
Cons: Hot water was a little bit 'hit and miss'. Some general (minor) repairs would significantly lift the 'feel' of the place (not major/expensive repairs... just a bit here and there). There was a bit of confusion around payment, as we had payed via booking.com and this didn't seem to be clearly reflected at checkout time.
6.7 Good
Pros: By the beach
Cons: Our heater was broken. It was really cold and took about 30 min for the staff to try to get it going. Finally we were transferred to another room. We also asked for daily cleaning of our room which didn’t happen
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location right on the beach, outside of season the place was pretty empty and super quiet. We also got to see the turtles hatching on the beach! Staff is super friendly and tries to make guests as comfortable as possible.
Cons: External terrace was made of wood that was a bit old already, stepping too hard could result in damaging it. Pretty difficult to reach without a car.
7.1 Good
Pros: The home cooked food and hospitality
Cons: Location quite far from any shops or food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible place to stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The location right next to the beach is great. Food was delicious.
Cons: Nothing negative, just two recommendations: - Recommended to have a rental car. - Diner should be booked at least one day ahead.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, excellent rooms and cleanliness
Cons: The showers are quite bad :(

Pros: The hotel has a good location. We used the public transport with daypasses and it was easy to reach every point on this beautiful island. The two english speaking ladies at the restaurant service were very friendly, helpful and informative. Would advise to offer them a job at the reception. Excellent Breakfast.
Cons: Only one lady at the reception spoke English
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bath with view. Location close to some wonderful restaurants and cafes . Lovely sauna and onsen . Kind staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are all very helpful and provided and very accommodating to provide assistance to us, they did more than we expected (compared to other hotels in Japan) - from the front desk, concierge to the restaurant ....thank you for the great stay we had
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was five mins walks from the port which was great for leaving luggage, and was two mins walk to two bus stops and a supermarket if you needed. The standard twin room had an absolutely stunning view over the ocean (only slightly impeded by the newer hotel block below) with two large beds and ample space. Most of the staff were very kind and helpful. The spa was lovely and modern and razors etc are available if you ask. General amenities all good and readily available too. Easy check in and out process. The view made it worthwhile.
Cons: A bit tired and too expensive for what you get. Breakfast was as to be expected for an included buffet, nothing outstanding just very fresh and a large variety.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Responsive staff to our questions before arriving. Thank you for understanding our situation and making adjustments as necessary. We stayed in the new deluxe wing of the hotel, which on their website is rebranded as a separate hotel (it should be in a different star class). Terrific views of the sea, clean comfortable rooms. Much better value for money than the most expensive hotel option on Yakushima.
Cons: Some of the sashimi didn't look that fresh.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place. The owner was very kind and gave us recommendations for places around Yakushima (just a note: because we can speak Japanese, we could communicate in Japanese, so I’m not sure if he could speak English). The toilet and bathroom were very clean, and there were always clean towels provided for use. Nice hot water (+ a bathtub). 10/10 would recommend this place and will definitely come back when visiting Yakushima. Just a note for Yakushima: if possible, rent a car - it’s much more convenient; if you hate spiders - beware, there are tons of spiders and spiderwebs all around the island
Cons: Everything was good. Though, if you don’t have a car, it would be quite far from a supermarket/restaurant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Daichan is the best. He told us everything we would ever need to know about the local hikes, roads, beaches, onsens, resteraunts, and everything else. We felt that he genuinely cared about us and our wellbeing. Not only did Daichan give us a place to stay, he gave us a story that we'll all be telling for a lifetime. Make sure you bring a beautiful woman!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The yurt was very roomy and the beds are hard, but comfortable. It's really pretty quiet too considering you're right near the road. At 6 am every day some musical alarm goes off so nobody is allowed to sleep in. You won't want to anyway. There's so much to see on the island! There's only 2 toilets and one shower but only 2 yurts on the property so it was never a problem. The owners are very kind and helpful. At check in he gives you his life history via google translate but otherwise they're very nice. One night he drove us to town for dinner as it was pouring rain. For the rest we walked. We had a rental car but driving at night on the wrong side of the road for us is very stressful.
Cons: Access to a kettle to boil some water would be nice for coffee in the morning. He brought us hot water at night but it was too cold by morning to use for coffee.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: These yurts are super comfortable and have everything you need. The owner must be the most hospitable person on the island. He guided me in, gave me tea, baked me sweet potatoes and told me to call him any time I needed to go to the shop so he could drive me. All will little to no English and just a translate app. Really unique setup and I would highly recommend it.
Cons: I have no complaints, but will advise that the toilet and bathroom are in separate buildings to the beds, in case that bothers anybody.
5.4 Okay
Pros: General feel of the mongol hut. The value.
Cons: The cockroach, the loooong check-in, the global confort.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staying in a tent offered a very adventurous but still luxurious experience. The owner was very hospitable, helping us plan our hikes and driving us around to get dinner. His sense of humour made the stay especially memorable.
7.5 Good
Pros: The host was amazing. He provided suggestions for places to visit, maps, and directions. He even brought us popsicles and drove us in his personal car to an amazing onsen.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Host at this property was absolutely amazing! He cared about me literally all the time while I was accommodate there. Even though that he doesn't speak English and he communicate only via Google translate, he will help you with everything. Like travelling around island, with trips. I visited one onsen and he recommended me shortcut how to get there, which was very helpful. As he is local he knows everything about island and how to avoid some payments. Also that place was very clean, good WiFi connection and my host every day prepared for me boiled water

Pros: Stunningly beautiful area with cute little cottages in the woods. Short drive to Shiratani Unsui Gorge. The owner was super attentive and kind. The wood-fire baths were unique and a great way to unwind after hiking all day.

Pros: You know from the drive up to the hotel that you are arriving to something special. I will keep it short - we had an excellent 3 night stay at this resort hotel. The staff were extremely attentive to our every needs - the chef whipped us up with delicious vegetarian meals that were pictures (we did not stop taking pictures of the dishes we were served). We asked for directions for a recommended site on the Island - the following morning we were given a satellite picture of the site with exact directions. Just a few examples. The Hotel grounds are beautiful and do not miss the waterfall about a 20 minute walk. The bedroom was very lovely with comfy beds, linens, towels - modern, light and clean. The view (either side is amazing). Dining room is very nice and so is the spa , lobby and other public areas. Nice farewell from the staff to end this lovely memorable stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good and peaceful environment
Cons: Remote from city
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super helpful staff, very efficient! Onsen is very good, room very comfortable. The hotel has a huge, beautiful park. The bus that goes around the island stops at the entrance of hotel, very convenient. For early trekking, they can replace breakfast with a packed breakfast+ bento lunch. We could rent electric bikes for a nice ride along the coast.

Pros: Silence, vast rooms, restaurant
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Absolutely magical place and 5 star service!! We adored this place and its very special and personalized experience delivered by the staff!! Exceptional
