10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was stunning, luxurious yet traditional. The food was exquisite with multiple dishes and courses all imaginatively compiled and delicious. All the staff were incredible, helpful and humble, especially Kasumi who was delightful. The Onsen was beautiful and relaxing. The salon was an added touch, with delicious food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gardens are gorgeous but most importantly, in my opinion, is the respect for the history surrounding this fine ryokan. It is evident throughout. Very attentive, passionate and caring staff who are truly delighted to have you as a guest. Very rare these days in the hotel accommodation business
Cons: Can’t think of anything. It was a truly memorable experience
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff and service was amazing. The dinner presentation was excellent. The atmosfere in the honkan was super friendly.
Cons: it was not easy to find my room and the exit. I wish signs along the hallway be more informative.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, especially the meal and onsens.
Cons: I liked everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have visited Japan a number of times over the years and have stayed in many ryokans. Nishimuraya Honkan is the overall most enjoyable ryokan that I have stayed in to date. Excellent service, outstanding food, beautiful traditional architecture, lovely garden, and nice baths. Kinosaki Onsen is a bit out of the way, but Nishimuraya Honkan is worth the trip.
Cons: I liked everything about this ryokan.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was incredibly gorgeous. Just absolutely stunning. The onsens were so serene and luxurious that I stopped going to the public onsens once I checked them out. The massage chairs in the onsen changing rooms were wonderful after a warm soak and really helped to loosen up the tight muscles from the 10+ hour flight and 4 days of walking 30+ steps per day in Kyoto. We had the Hatsune room with a private open air stone bath and it was amazing beyond words. The seating and bedding was remarkably pleasant and comfortable. Truly everything about the property was impressive and relaxing. Our room attendant, Maho, was also incredible and a highlight of our stay. She was so pleasant to speak with and so nice. She really took the experience to a whole new level and it would not have been the same without her.
Cons: I can’t think of a single thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I mean, it's the Nishimuraya Honkan. It couldn't be more of a 10/10, I think it's the best place I've ever stayed at. (And I film luxury hotel commercials for a living, so I'm not saying that lightly.)
Cons: Zero complaints.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff attention before arrival and during the stay is awesome
Cons: Some kid guests running in long wooden corridor makes noice you can hear in your room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Literally everything about Nishimuraya Honkan, and to that extend, Kinosakionsen, is perfect. Honkan’s staff was so accommodating and kind and really got to know us during our stay so they can prepare to take care of us. Our room attendant was amazing, the baths were breath taking, and I feel as though how we were treated went beyond just professionalism, they went far and beyond for us without us even asking. The whole facility looks like it came out of a Japanese novel, so beautiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and superb food.
Morizuya - Toyooka - Building

9.2 Excellent (1,283 reviews)

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Cannot say enough good things about the staff, all of whom went way beyond our expectations in ensuring we had an awesome stay. The kimono selection and photos were a real touch. Also, the in-house onsen is fantastic and the hotel is brilliantly located for onsen-hopping in town. Lastly, the in-room dinner was spectacular - one of the best meals we’ve had in Japan. Sashimi, beef, and seasonal snow crab - fresh, broiled, and served multiple different ways. Outstanding.
Cons: The futon beds could have been softer and the pillows were pretty uncomfortable, but otherwise we can’t fault anything. Would definitely recommend for a stay at Kinosaki.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms and onsens within the Ryokan. For ladies, you can pick out a Kimono (from the owner mother’s incredible collection) borrow in addition to the yukata that every one gets. The owner Hachi was very friendly and was extremely enthusiastic about helping us take pictures!
Cons: Everything in the Ryokan was spotless except for the tea set in our room. Somehow the tea cups and plates were not cleaned thoroughly. But the rest of the ryokan was clean and beautiful!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and staff is friendly and polite. Excellent service. The 2 onsens inside the property are nice.
Cons: There are 2 private onsens and hope that there is a schedule to book for private use instead of waiting outside . Also there is food smooth after the food was cook inside the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the stay. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast are massive and delicious. The room was very spacious. The onsens at the hotel. The free pass for entering the 7 onsens around town. Overall it felt like a home away from home rather than a hotel. 11/10 would recommend to everyone.
Cons: The staff didn't speak much English but it was super easy to get around that barrier with gestures and a few basic Japanese words.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful family-run ryokan with amazing staff in a beautiful facility! Will definitely come back

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: They made me a gluten-free breakfast that could have fed three people! It was gorgeous, including salmon, tamagoyaki (eggs), rice, miso soup, shrimp and squid sashimi, vegetables, and fruit. They bought gluten-free soy sauce for me even though I told them that I would bring my own. The ryokan is very, very clean and the host is very friendly, and the location is perfect for visiting onsen, with many restaurants and shops nearby. It was also nice to have a toilet attached to the room rather than having to share one. The room also had a sink and refrigerator.
Cons: Although it was not problem for me, my room was on the third floor, which might be a problem for those with mobility concerns.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Huge room Comfortable bed Great service
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, I've enjoyed my stay very much
10.0 Excellent

Pros: I found the hosts Kazu & Mie so considerate & thoughtful. They always had a smile to greet you & answered any questions that I had. The breakfast was an amazing feast of traditional tasty little morsels!

Pros: So soft and comfortable futon, clean and tidy room, every staffs were so kind and there were gorgeous meal. Easy walkable distance from railway station with heavy luggages. Every onsens are within 15mins walk maximum.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff, a couple who run the property are very friendly. The location is close to the train station, only a few minutes on foot. The facilities are not fancy as some other expensive ryokans, but they are satisfactory. The breakfast meets my expectation. We did not have dinner at this ryokan. The price was reasonable. I would certainly recommend this ryokan to those who do not wish to spend a big money for ryokan.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: - We had a deluxe room on the third floor with a nice living area and two separate rooms, each with 4 futon. We also had a toilet and sink area in the room - it was very spacious and comfy - Location was great!! Very close to 2 onsens and generally in the middle area of the town. - Always nice to have the onsen passes - Free parking in a garage nearby and the owner parked our cars for us since it was quite a tight space - Overall a really great value for our group!
Cons: - Perhaps as to be expected, everything was a little old and therefore it was more difficult to tell that it was clean

Pros: We were greeted kindly by the owner and offered green tea while being introduced to the town and shown how to wear our yukatas. The room was beautiful with a nice sitting area with huge bright windows
Cons: The house is over 100 years old so understandably a little cold in places but the main bedroom had two large heaters so it was very warm with those.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best onsen in town!!! If you want to indulge, then go for the private onsen.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The night spent at this establishment was quite simply the most relaxing and luxurious moment of a 20 day Japan trip. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Highlights included how spacious my room was, how nice the onsen facilities were (by far my favourite in town and I visited most of the public onsens before coming to this conclusion), how delicious and refined the dinner was, and how amazing the breakfast buffet was too.
Cons: The only thing I regretted was that my room had a lingering tobacco odor, the hotel had installed a device to purify and clean the air, but it was the kind of very light persistent small that it is hard to get rid of. I get that Japan has a different approach to smoking indoors that some other places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is just pretty good. Staff very friendly. Everything we expect was there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property. Everything about the ryokan was perfect in every way.
Cons: A little expensive, but you pay for what you get. All in all a charming experience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where to start... this is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Absolutely immaculately clean, and the rooms are something very special. The staff are fantastic; extraordinarily welcoming, polite, and charming. The facilities are second to none. Kinosaki is full of Onsen, of course, but the one at Nishimuraya Shogetsutei is amongst the best, and the only one with a steam room as far as I'm aware. The lobby, bar area, and gardens are a sight to behold, in fact, the entire place is stunning. Unfortunately, the pool was not open, since I visited during off season, but that also looks great. The breakfast buffet is fresh, delicious, and varied. The dinner... on another level entirely. At 13,800 JPY, it is not cheap, but you really do get what you pay for. A beautifully presented 10 course meal is served to you in your room, in an unintrusive, quintessentially Japanese manner. The food is top quality; the Snow Crab, Sashimi, and Wagyu beef all utterly delicious, and again, the staff are astoundingly accommodating and thoughtful. Speaking of quality touches, if you thought Japanese toilets were great in general, then wait until you see the toilets in this place, with seats which automatically open as you enter, and at the push of a button close and flush themselves. I can imagine for those with disabilities this hotel would be a great choice. Everywhere is wheelchair accessible, and adapted seating is also provided in the public bath areas. The private baths are really worth the extra cost if you want an even more luxurious experience. 8,800 JPY for 70 minutes, with champagne ice bucket provided. Each private bath house can probably accommodate a group of up to 5 or 6, and also has a private sauna (the slightly cooler type in which you wear sauna clothes). There's a very good reason Nishimuraya Shogetsutei is considered the best ryokan in town by the locals. I will certainly be staying here on future visits to Kinosaki.
Cons: I can't think of a single thing that I didn't like about this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was fantastic. Also we both got sick and one of their staff took us to the doctors and chemist and drove us to the train station for our next leg of our trip. Exceptional detail to service to say the least! Not if but when we come back we will be staying here!

Pros: Great service, very cosy lounge.. we enjoyed wearing the traditional clothes and relaxing at the lobby very much! We were the only foreigners and that made our stay more special.
Cons: Breakfast was all Japanese foods, it was full of local dishes and prepared in great detail, but for someone who doesn't prefer Japanese food, can be good to have some safe options too
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very classy and traditional ryokan. Staff was very polite and helpful and attended to our every wish. The breakfast was sensational! Highly recommend this establishment.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staffs are excellent, they try their best to meet our needs. On site onsen is excellent. Shuttle drives us around. 10 minute walk from station. Japanese style accommodation. We were quite happy with the experience.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel has nice facilities and a beautiful garden. The staff is helpful most of the time. The bath is awesome
Cons: When we went in with heavy luggages, a staff is rushing over to take our luggage. But somehow another staff stopped that lady. We still cannot understand why. We ended up carry our luggage by ourselves through all the hallways. It is not an issue for us, but given the way they welcomed us all the way from the carpark, we are taken a back by the contrast in service level at the front desk. Finally when we struggled to get the luggages upstairs, another staff not knowing what happens in the front-desk quickly came over to help. That's why we are felt discriminated by those staff at the front desk for some reasons. We would love to hear the explanation from the owner. Thanks.

Pros: Every thing was amazing.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect breakfast and service.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I will recommend this hotel to others. We can name this hotel "the best hospitality". Hotel design and decoration are typical Japanese style. The staff are well trained like 5 stars hotel. They care for guest and good communication with their team. The front office staff asked for guest preferences and they transfer information to their team. Kitchen ad FB staff took a good care for us. Breakfast was impressive for our 3 days stay. Food are not only delicious, but also beautiful. Actually, I was be impressed since I did the booking. FO staff, Hiromi is quite concern with my request that I travel with 70 year old mom. My mom is allergic for smoking. Hiromi prepare the best room and put air purifier in our room. Also, my mom got sick in one of the afternoon during our staying. Hiromi was also took a good care for us. She prepared boiled rice and Japanese plum and took to our room by herself. Finally my mom got recovered. We would like to say thank you from our heart to her. Other staff are also willing to help on every request from us. Risako, front office staff has the welcome smile on every request. Keto San, restaurant staff helped us a lot to organize day trip by ropeway. The management team always showed us at the lobby to welcome and farewell guests. The room is so big with balcony in Japanese style and we have private bathroom organized daily with different theme- Orange, Floral and Apple. And we also can use public bath in hotel as we want. When we go out the room, housekeeping came to tidy the room and preparing all the equipment so fast. FO team also prepared the farewell card for us. This is handmade card with Thai language. This hotel make me clearly understand of the word "Hospitality". The Kinosaki town is quite small, we walk to every street and every shops already this trip. But we will come back again other season because we are impress with Yuraku Resort and Spa Hotel. Thank you all staff. You make our vacation unforgettable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Yuraku is Japanese hospitality at its finest. The rooms had a minimalist approach to their decor as expected of most traditional ryokans, and guests are also treated to a view of a well maintained Japanese garden from their window. It goes without saying, but no ryokan experience is complete without a kaiseki dinner, something which Yuraku delivered spectacularly well. A stay in this ryokan also entitles guests to use their public bath and have a session in one of three private onsens which are available on-site. Tastefully decorated rooms, clean public baths, and delicious meals - this is one ryokan you absolutely have to visit. Kudos to Yuka, who was amazingly meticulous in looking after us for the entire stay. She was instrumental in making our stay just so enjoyable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very good staff especially the women who can speak English.
Cons: The shuttle bus from station to hotel is not enough, the hotel should add more shuttle bus schedules.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was so clean and comfortable, for dinner, fantastic also our server, he is very kind and well service. Our breakfast time was also perfect. Thank you very much for all the service you all gave to us. it's very best experience we have earn in Japan!!
Cons: breakfast should have the menu list same as dinner time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ryokan is beautiful, and certainly the nicest place I have stayed. The rooms are traditional japanese style, so expect to sit and sleep on mats/cushions on the ground. Personally I quite liked it. We were overlooking the garden with a good view. I reserved the apple private bath. I don't know how much the apples added to anything, but the private onsen itself was great and it was a nice little aesthetic touch. The food was fantastic and meticulously presented. Staff were very helpful and spoke enough English to make up for my poor Japanese.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic place, execellent service, impeccable exprience. Would definitely return there. Breakfast was amazing, I will definitely get the dinner package next round.
Cons: I went during a low season, everything was closed at 6pm. Nothing to do during the night. Could not even find food, had to rely on family mart.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 2 nights in Yuraku Spa, with our young boy. This journey was fantastic and beyond expectations. Kinosaki-Onsen is a place to relax and enjoy a traditional japanese lifestyle that is hard to find in bigger cities. And Yuraku Spa gave us a full experience : from private onsen to yukata, from breakfast to the tasteful 13 dishes dinner, from arrival shuttle to the kindness of the staff, everything was perfect. One of the best times of our 3 week trip in Japan, and very well-spent money :) Thanks again to all the staff members for your help and your smiles ! Also don't come here to jog or rush, you won't fit in this town :)
Cons: Nothing comes to mind. Really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful place! Felt welcome from the first minute. Very friendly staff. The private onsen was great. Food was delicious. Loved everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about Yuraku Kinosaki Spa & Gardens!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Neat and tidy. Cozy!
Cons: No private shower(but I must have overlooked the details when I did my booking), so it’s still okay...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice, the amenities were nice in terms of the Japanese garments that you were allowed to wear including winter coat. The breakfast was worth paying extra for and it is right in the middle of everything so not much distance to start walking to class to have their own Onsen In my opinion it’s better than the other onsens and also if you stay in this hotel you get a ticket to go to all the other onsens for free
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ryokan is very easy to find not far away from the train station. The reception staff is very welcoming and friendly, will answer to all your needs. If you're too shy or want some intimacy during bath the ryokan offers private baths and it is always vacant during the time when we were there (december). So you get both private and public bath experience. The ryokan also provides you the yukata, bath robes, sheet masks to complete your bath experience.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of seriously!

Pros: They habe Yukatas for free rental and special ones for women. Very traditional and a special experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Sounds impossible but yeah, the moment we arrive at the lobby we knew we're gonna have such a good time. The hospitality was outstanding. Their food was marvelous. The room was superb. Totally recommended and valuable and unforgettable experience staying in a Ryokan!
Cons: The view from our room. We didn't have any. Maybe if we choose other room we might have it. Otherwise it's perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The private baths were amazing. We got to spend some good time in the onsen and enjoyed ourselves. The staff were also very attentive and prepared a futon, baby chair for my infant in the room and during meal time. Kudos to the team for their hospitality.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very quiet. The private bathes were special, too.
Cons: There were 60 stairs up and down from our room to the bathes. I didn’t think to request a lower floor room, so my partner had quite a time managing the stairs. He was not happy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality, the traditional experience of staying in an authentic Japanese Ryokan is great. The dinner they serve is premium as we didn't expect it to be so many varieties and so high in quality. The private onsen is a plus as not every foreign traveller prefer to bath with public. Location is only 3mins walking distance from JR Kinosaki-onsen station .Overall is highly recommended.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Less than 5 minutes away from Kinosaki station, great breakfast and the crab dinner is fantastic. The room is spacious with a balcony view of the main entrance.
Cons: Very generous portions of crab given during dinner. Unfortunately, the 3 of us couldn't finish them all.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Located on the Main Street of Kinosaki Onsen with easy access to all public onsens. Great breakfast and dinner. Provided free private onsen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely traditional Japanese style room, staffs were warm and welcome although they know very limited English, service was excellent especially in preparing the futon and serving meals, they explained the food one by one and the recommended way of eating it. Food was awesome, the taste was great, the crab was super fresh, the quality of the beef was good, portion was generous! We stayed for 2 nights they thoughtfully prepared different breakfast and different dinner for both days. Yukata and geta was provided foc. There’s a private onsen owned by the ryokan themselves (only indoor) however you can choose which room to use based on your group size. Overall it was an enjoyable stay at the ryokan, though costly but definitely worth every single cent we paid.
Cons: It will be great if we can choose to grill the beef instead of just sukiyaki / shabu-shabu. Unfortunately the view that we got was back alley view :( (practically no view)

Pros: Comfortable room and bed. private toilet and shower
Cons: The lady staff wasn't very nice. I texted hotel via booking.com asking if they have hair iron for rent or not. The answer was yes the do have but when I arrived the lady at the front said they have only hair dryer which was very old.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location in main street, close to restaurants, shops and various onsens. Can sit outside ryokan and look at beautiful autumn scenery. Very helpful female receptionist who tried her best to find access to Ankokuji Temple for me. Greatly appreciated.
Cons: I was on the third level so carrying my luggage down was a little difficult
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were a family of 6 and the ryokan accommodated our request for two rooms side by side. The location is fantastic. It was wonderful to walk straight out onto the village street. The private open air onsen was the perfect end to our 3 day stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was nice, close to different onsen. Nice room, tea in the room.
Cons: Compared with the other places I stayed in Japan, the reception staff was not as friendly - it can be because of lack of English, but the woman who helped me to my room and explained the rules didn't speak English neither, and she was more friendly. Maybe just a bad day?
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and tidy. The front desk is friendly and the staff too. It is just a 5 mins walk from kinosaki JR terminal.
Cons: Cash payment only.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Warmnest of the host. Onsen experience. Ryokan was good
Cons: No
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I was able to order a crab meal plan although I was alone. I'm very happy with that. Also the kitchen lady server taught me the right way to eat the snow crabs. She also made an effort to explain different sake taste to me. The location was convenient to all the consent using the free pass. It is about 5mins walk from the station.
Cons: The staff wearing spectacles at the reception was very hostile when I came at 10:30am. It wasn't time to check in and I wanted to drop my bag with them. I was about to step up onto the carpet floor when she said rudely "check in 2pm, put on red chair". Usually hotels in Japan will give you a luggage tag but I'm not sure if this ryokan does things this way. I just don't feel comfortable when spoken to this way. It made my morning very sad. Staff should understand we travelled a long way here, there is no need for such hostile manners. Was it because I am discriminated because I am not Japanese?
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very welcoming and did everything possible to make me feel at home!
Cons: Wish there was complementary water in the room.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: The ladies in reception was no smile what’s ever you ask questions
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the service provided by the place, the staff were amazing and super lovely. Staff were able to communicate with us in basic English which was super handy and really appreciated their efforts to help us around the area. The place was not only conveniently located near the Kinosakionsen station (about a 7 min walk) and a bunch of shops and restaurants, it was near the 7 public onsens that you will have access to! The traditional room itself was lovely to experience especially sleeping on the futon. Would recommend and book again if I plan another trip to Kinosakionsen.
Cons: Nothing.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The personnel was super friendly, the food was very good (it was an interesting experience as well, for sure, all those different tastes...) The ryokan is not the most central, but it didn't matter, because they shuttled us into the city center (about 3 minutes ride, so it's not very far away!) and picked us up again. We really appreciated this service! The in-house bath (women) is small, but very cozy and with a nice atmosphere! Thank you very much for this pleasant experience!
Cons: Everything was outstanding! The only thing that was a bit unexpected, was the slight smell of old tobacco in the living/sleeping room - since we are non-smokers, it was not very nice. But everyone was so friendly and smiling and helpful, that it really didn't matter in the end!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very accommodating to us and patient that we did not know how things should work. Everyone was always very friendly and polite, instructive if needed. The chef was kind to accommodate my vegetarian husband, and myself as pescatarian for breakfast, which was superb. We found the room and building comfortable and clean, and especially enjoyed the private onsen experience. Access to the main town is an easy pleasant walk, we hardly used the shuttle service. I actually preferred being a little out of town as the clip clopping of groups travelling from Onsen to Onsen late at night would affect noise levels on in the main town. We are delighted with our stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I would recommend this to everyone who’s coming to kinosaki onsen. It’s highly valued for money even though it is slightly far off from the town as compared to the other ryokans, but the ryokan provides frequent shuttle buses to the town which is merely a 10mins drive. The breakfast and dinner provided were delicious as well and the ryokan has kindly accommodated to my food preference as a pescatarian. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Overall I would like to rate it as a 8/10 experience.
Cons: The room might be a little cramped.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was really comfortable and the food was amazing! Their customer service is top notch. Wish I had booked it for more than one night. They have their own private onsen and also provide you with a pass so that you can visit the many onsens in the areas. Lovely experience overall.
Cons: It's 15 to 20 min walk from the town but they offer free shuttle services
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing!! The personnel, the diner and breakfast, onsens... Love it!!
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything!! Staff very friendly and professional. Very nice spacious room. Amazing onsen. The food was delicious!!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful and courteous. Dinner and breakfast were good. Transport was provided for guests between the Roykan and the train station; as well as between the Roykan and the main shopping street to do shopping and Onsen hopping.
Cons: The Japanese room for two was very small. The Onsen was very small. Chance to book the private onsen was very slim if you did not check in early. There was no lift to the rooms which were located on the 2nd floor. The location of the Roykan was also quite far away from the main shopping street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and explained everything to me in English, which was very helpful with my mediocre Japanese proficiency. The dinner and breakfast were superb - everything was delicious and food presentation was great. Rooms were very cosy and really good-equipped with appliances. There were also one indoor and one open-air bath, which I didn't have to share, because majority of guests were female - the baths were also great to have in ryokan.

Cons: Even room might be a bit old, but everything is still function and workable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Near train station only 5 mins walk. Near convenience store and close to public bath. The town itself is not big so you can wander around and get everything easy.
Cons: Nothing No bathroom might be problem for somebody, But it is an onsen town. You should get the experience in public bath.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted kindly by the owner and offered green tea while being introduced to the town and shown how to wear our yukatas. The room was beautiful with a nice sitting area with huge bright windows
Cons: The house is over 100 years old so understandably a little cold in places but the main bedroom had two large heaters so it was very warm with those.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hospitality, fresh green tea and a gorgeous view- easy access, relaxing atmosphere. Truly a special hidden gem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were so friendly and helpful. They came and met us at the station when we arrived and dropped our bags bag when we departed.

Pros: The hotel onsen is fabulous, the staff are so nice and very helpful. The whole town is amazing..everyone gets there personal kimono to walk around to all the onsens in the town. It's very relaxing and you leave feeling like a new person. Worth the effort to travel that far.
Cons: Slightly outdated but had a lot of charm, if you don't like proper Japanese food do not book the breakfast or dinner but if you do..the food is first class. The dinners and breakfast were top class and an experience all on their own. Amazing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was just wonderful. We loved this Ryokan. We had a very spacious room, also with a shower and bathroom, what you can't find very often. The stuff was very friendly and the privat onsen super nice.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff at all contact point.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff explaining things around kinosaki-onsen during check in. Free patterned yukata rental for the ladies given during check in. Bath pass and of course onsen yukata provided in the room for us to wear out when going around to the public onsens. Room is spacious and comfortable!
Cons: The western breakfast was a bit underwhelming. Perhaps if it's Japanese breakfast it would be nicer to have here.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good stay
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were extremely helpful. After I checked out from the hotel, I realised that I left behind my camera in the room. At that time, I was already on board a train towards Kyoto. I tired to contact the hotel via booking.com and they were able to assist. The hotel was able to forward the camera to my next hotel in Osaka. The Kaiseki dinner and breakfast was good. The dinner menu comes with English translation.
Cons: The furnishing May look a bit old. But it is still well-maintained.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location Shuttle service to/from station and public baths
Cons: Food was ok but a bit lower than our expectations
