9.0 Excellent (628 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at TEN to SEN Guest House TAKAMATSU - Hostel in Takamatsu, you'll be minutes from Takamatsu Marugamemachi Shopping Street and Takamatsu City Museum of Art. Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and microwave in a common area.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, clean facilities, love discovering shops nearby
Cons: The room is slightly squeezed for two people if you were with some luggage
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room space is larger than ordinary ones, you have extra space for your luggage. A little far (15~20minutes' walk)from train station and ferry port, but it's ok.
7.9 Good
Pros: Sleep very well. Very clean and pretty comfortable. The location is nice!!!!! You can easy to walk to Main Street!
Cons: Bathroom not too much. You need to wait.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, common area is very nice and comfortable. Clean and safe overall.
Cons: Bed is a little hard, but typical for most guesthouses in Japan
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, right next to the main shopping street with excellent restaurants and within walking distance of ritsurin garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a lot of English information about great sights we would have missed otherwise.
Cons: There was some small trouble with the plumbing for a few hours, but it was quickly fixed. The hostel is small, with a lot of stairs and narrow hallways, like all hostels in Japan. None of it caused us any trouble.
5.8 Okay
Pros: At least the shower room and toilet are in each floor.
Cons: Given that the sound proof is not really good, it was very disturbing people in the same floor took a shower till late night and did not care about making noisy. The guest house rules are too strict, using the common space and kitchen was not that comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality was simply amazing. The main room was so comfortable to stay in and share experiences, highlights and general conversation or just chill. The bedrooms were comfortable and had a great amount of space with your own little dressing space to put on your make up or just prepare for your day. Full kitchen. Shower access nearly all hours and with all cleaning supplies provided. Easy to get to so many attractions and short trip to the JR Station (via short local 2 station train if you have a lot of luggage
Cons: That my stay was too short... I will return!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: That’s so great! Clean and cheat
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love their dorm room! have private space for each one, its really great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a wonderful little hostel. Comfortable private room, clean bathrooms, amazing shower, charming common area, and functional kitchen with free tea. Staff was not always present but were very helpful when they were. Good location with lots of nearby food options, 15 minute walk to the Ritsurin Garden, 30 minute walk to the main railway station and port, and nearby bus and tram connections (although we just ended up walking everywhere).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is literally my favorite hotel I've ever stayed. Everything is perfect, the room is clean (but true, its small) and was very nicely and comfortably designed. The breakfast, oh the breakfast, its amazing!!! The location, its in the center of the city, so very close to all the shops and restaurants, and its also very convenient to take the bus to get to the port. Although most of the staffs barely speak English, but they are extremely helpful: brining umbrellas to us when its raining outside, helping me finding my camera (although we failed to find it T-T).
Cons: Nothing!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel! So many details that will make any guest happy! The happy hour drinks and treats were great! The room is cute and well-decorated. Wifi is good. Location is ideal. Staff spoke English. Just perfect!
Cons: Everything was great!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was typical Japanese and American style, good coffee and especially the club lounge access was really nice with the drinks and the snacks!
Cons: the only thing I missed in the room was a wardrobe. for two persons it was a little bit difficult to get our stuff organized.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The light is a bit dark in the room. It will be great if there are more ceiling lights.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good food. Clean. Very reasonable price. Easy accessible to local foods and shops. Definitely gonna stay here if traveling to the city again. Great staff. Very helpful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the lounge to relax in the evening with the drinks and nibbles provided. One evening we skipped dinner as the snacks were more than enough
7.0 Good
Pros: Library. Good appetizers and drinks. Very pleasant staff. Had a early train ride and asked we could be get in before the opening time and accommodated us.
Cons: Command of English was very spotty by the front desk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and all day bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It was a great hotel. It had a beautiful scent throughout and the location was perfect. Staff were very helpful. I have stayed at the JR Clement Hotel before and this place was much better. Not even on the same league.
Cons: Nothing. It was great. best place in all of Takamatsu to stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Our room came with access to the tea service and bar, this was the key amenity we enjoyed.
Cons: The design inside rooms is not particularly modern and is a bit too dark for my taste.
Kawaramachi Dormitory - Hostel - Takamatsu - Building
3
8.8 Excellent (374 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Kawaramachi Dormitory - Hostel in Takamatsu, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Takamatsu Marugamemachi Shopping Street and Takamatsu City Museum of Art. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to the station. Interesting interior space and nice staffs. Really good experience to stay here.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: delightful and knowledgeable manager with lots of info to share; very hot showers and everything very clean; terrific restaurant for dinner right across the tiny road
Cons: no breakfast on offer in hostel nor in nearby restaurant; the very unique charming and very very clean space could have had slightly higher ceilings in the tiny (but adequately convenient for lighting and cleanliness and heat and coziness) as I am 5'5'' (average height) and could not stand upright in my cubicle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: i have travel a lot in japan and this place has the best sleeping box. I’m recommended
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was generally clean, close to the Kawaramachi tram stop and downtown area, friendly and professional staff, individual lockable capsule.
Cons: It would be nice to have soap in the toilets (currently only at basin in the hallway), sometimes the main door and the door to the dorms were both unlocked which seems insecure - perhaps emphasise to guests the need to lock the door after themselves when they come in late or leave early.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Went to Takamatsu during Obon week and this hostel was the only one left with reasonable prices (but still rather expensive). Additonally the 'interesting' design of the dorm room offers more privacy than typical hostel dorms. Rooms are clean and well maintained.
Cons: No kitchenette for cooking though they at least provide a fridge and microwave. The separate cubicles are indeed very private, however, air circulation is lacking and unless you leave open your door it'll get very warm (stayed there in August). JR Takamatsu station is quite some distance by foot but still manageable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All in all super happy to have stayed in Kawaramachi Dormitory! Sweet staff made it feel like home instantly and gave great recommendations for the area (also, kawaramachi area is very nice). Facilities were nice, clean and well-designed, and having a ‘booth’ to yourself was such a luxury compared to the usual bunk beds in dormitories/guest houses. Everything went smoothly thanks to simple and easy procedures for everything:)
Cons: It’s not a lot of room for both yourself and your baggage, but really it was sufficient and not a problem. The privacy definitely made up for it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a great location if you are planning to visit the islands of the inland sea like Naoshima, Teshima or even Shodoshima. Everything is clean, calm and well organized ! Great owner, and perfect for solo travelers !
Cons: If you arrive before actual check in time, I recommend that you contact the owner in advance !
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very near from the station, but not so busy road, quiet at night.
Cons: no safety box, no chains for your suitcase.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location and friendly staff. The place is perfect to catch any public transportation, well connected to the port.

7.5 Good
Pros: The style of the house
Cons: The room lacked natural ventilation and was stuffy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nicely created camping atmosphere and good air conditioning and ventilation.
Cons: Juat 1 toilet and 1 sink for max 16 (i think) people. No relax/eat space other than in the room where everyone sleeps.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Near Kawaramachi station
Cons: One shower for all rooms
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice spacious room. Very friendly people. It was possible to leave our luggage before checking in.
Cons: The airconditioning didn’t work well so we had to use the fans. Also the water wasn’t cold. But that was because it was a heat stroke. It didn’t cool good enough
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean tent and nice host.
Cons: I guess nope.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly atmosphere, and staff were very helpful
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The concept is cool! In between camping/hostel and capsule. It is nice to have a dorm with doublebed when you travel as a couple. We were here for the Setouchi Triennal, so we had to walk to the port every day - 20 min walk, easy. Location is great, plenty of restaurants around. Very clean. Beds are very comfortable.
Cons: I think one toilet, one sink and one shower is not enough when all the beds are booked. I would also have appreciated to have a mug or basic kitchen gear. Finally, there is no common area outside of the room (there is a bar downstairs but it was closed the 3 nights we were here). So it can be difficult if you want to go to bed early.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Really kind and comforting staff. They came and checked on us and gave us snacks during the typhoon.
Cons: There's only one really tiny bathroom and one sink.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome and unique rooms, comfortable beds, good location. Friendly staff and overall great value :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy and clean place. The host gave good tips on the place to see and the local restaurants.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location next to a train station, perfect wifi, good beds, everything clean and new. It was two good nights there
Cons: In my opinion it was to little for 8 people staying there, but anything else was super

Cons: WE loved everything!
4.6 Okay
Pros: Spectacular view
Cons: Staff not friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you're traveling by a car, this hotel is definitely a wonderful choice. I booked a room with mountain view and without breakfast so I couldn't comment on food. However, the room was incredibly cozy, and the view from room was amazing, though mountain view is less desired room type. Within 1 minute walk I could reach an even more fantastic observatory. Town is in 5 minutes drive. Considering how much paid, I found this stay was unparalleled during my whole trip in Chuukoku/Shikoku.
Cons: Couldn't remember any dislikes.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and dinner were both huge, and very interesting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful, room had the required facilities and a spectacular view. Breakfast was outstanding.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room and breakfast
Cons: It was a bit hard to find a way to go to Hotel from parking place at Yashima temple. No traffic signs near there and google map failed to guide. Plz call to the hotel. It is much more easy to find a way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic view overlooking Takamatsu and Seto Inland Sea from our room. The room was clean and well appointed. Delicious and intricate dinner and breakfast! I would highly recommend both. Friendly and informative staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is breathtaking. Staffs are friendly and nice. I definitely recommend someone who want to stay here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from the hotel is just breathtaking. the staff is great and the breakfasts were fabulous. And even changing from one day to the other. The rooms were great, too. we wish the hotel many more guests and income to continue developing the building and the surroundings.
Cons: It was a pity that there are no options for dinner in the hotel or nearby. We came back late one night and the friendly receptionist had to save us with nuts and chips. Also, some of the facilities look at bit dated. The style is not consistent (why the Indian decorations?) and the outside greenery could use some gardening.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff and great breakfast!

Cons: NOTHING REALLY EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The management and staff went out of their way to meet our needs and, in particular, our dietary requirements. The dinner they prepared for us was a special, wonderful and unforgettable experience and I cannot adequately thank all those involved.
Cons: Given the achievements of the chef in preparing a superb vegan meal, it would be great to see vegan options included as standard. I can only suggest to management that they research the size, and rapid growth, in the demand for vegan food in order to see the business benefits.
7.1 Good
Pros: The place is well known for its sauna on the top floor, and indeed it is very nice. It is well regarded by Japanese people, who travel quite a distance to go there. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. Complimentary shuttle service to the train station is a clear plus.
Cons: The rooms for European are quite old. We simply booked a room, without additional specifications, so we were given a European style room... Big mistake! The room is comparable to a 2-3 star hotel near any station in Europe. Not bad, but not worth the price. Be aware of this problem

The room was relatively small, but you could still fit in two adults + luggage there. It was clean, as usual at APA Hotel and the staff was really helpful, although they spoke little English. I always enjoy staying at APA.

Pros: Perfect! The onsen was heavenly and the 24 hour free shuttle was so convenient.
Cons: The onsen are could have been a little Cleaner and my room was non-smoking but had a smoky musky smell.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Though we are booking non smoking room, there are badly smoking smell in the air . We had no option but put our facial mask to sleep all night long.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There was a shuttle from the airport. The staff were helpful and polite. The room was clean and comfortable with free toiletries and warm blankets. There is a restaurant on the ground floor (just make sure to check the hours). It is a little rural but very close to the airport and with good views
Cons: I wish they would say that you need to call them when you arrive regarding the shuttle; this could cause difficulty for people who don’t realize this and can’t call. Towards the end of our check in, he was rushing so told us some incorrect info. It wasn’t important information luckily; however, I still think it would have been safer for him to call over someone else or ask us to wait u til another person was free who could answer our questions. Also, it wasn’t important to us, but we couldn’t find/didn’t see a heater. It isn’t close to anything except the airport, but that makes it good for layovers and early flights
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cheaper prices for quality rooms
Cons: Bit far from city
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Near airport if you need to catch early morning flght.
Cons: Room was outdated and no extra towel for onsen use. Day when we check out, power failure and we have to carry our luggage all the way down from 6th floor. Lucky we were not trapped in the lift.

Cons: Not much lights in room and kind of old!
