Pros: Great for families
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The somewhat secluded location was really nice; the hotel is surrounded by golf courses and thus has a very peaceful setting. The room was spacious, the breakfast very nice and the staff, especially at the reception, very friendly.
Cons: Prior and during our stay several different amounts had been debited to my account which I found very confusing; it was explained to me that some amounts only were a guarantee; nevertheless I found the process not very transparent.

Pros: Location, warmth of welcome, food.
Cons: The ventilation in the bathroom (lacking/ not working). The mirrors stay foggy for hours.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and good facilities, great access to Sintra, Estoril and Cascais. Welcoming staff and decent breakfast.
Cons: The golf course and Val tennis are a little tired, the golf course is a nice track but condition was poor. All the many on site restaurants are extremely expensive, as is the bar. Which is a shame as we went out for dinner every night when had intended to eat at the hotel. Our room was quite dusty on arrival.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place which irradiates serenity
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, friendly accommodating staff in true Ritz Carlton style
Cons: Set in a lovely green pine forest, but a car is required to access any other amenities, including the beach (25 minutes away) or Sintra itself (20 minutes).
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: facilities location
Cons: They failed to inform me that the property was under maintenance and works. I went for a relaxed trip and the property is supposed to be in a tranquil and calm setting. The staff completely failed to inform us that they were doing substantial works and as a result spent two days listening to machinery instead of enjoying a calm get away.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything is superb
Cons: 10 euro room service fee is a little greedy on top of the prices

Pros: The place is beautiful, we loved the decor and the property in general all the details and style. It is located in the nature with nice view. Visiting Sintra in February didn’t allow us to use the poll but I can imagine to spend there more days and in Summer enjoy swimming and jacuzzi as well. Friendly and helpful staff recommending places, restaurants etc. The tourist bust stop is close by so no worries. Very pleasant surprise for me and my wife!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: Location was great, the hotel is beautiful. Music at hotel fit the scenario.
Cons: I always stay in 5 plus star hotels so i am quite disappointed. 1- I find it hard to believe that a 5 star hotel will have heating problems, we had to get an electric heater for our +/- 400 Eur night room- This is totally unacceptable. especially when you have a toddler in the room and we have to have the extra work of managing that the kid doesn't burn himself as kids move around. My toddler son got a cold as the heating stopped working at night. We come to a 5 start hotel to relax and for nothing else. 2- The phone in our room didn't have the numbers of reception or any service apart from the spa booked into them. I called spa to transfer me to reception - told them about the problem - but the issue was never fixed. - also not a 5 star hotel service. 3- At check out - and this can be verified by checking the camera at the entrance- that in heavy rain, no staff will help a pregnant woman and her family get their things in the taxi on the way out- not even an umbrella was handed as we carried our luggag. The woman at the front desk had no initiative what so ever. This is not a 5 star service. not even a 4 star service- Totally unacceptable. Again check your camera recordings for this Sunday 17 November 2019 around 09:00-11:00 in the morning to verify. 4- 5 star hotel that uses safety pin to hold curtains in the rooms. - This is just first of all unsafe especially with children and unpractical for adults that like our room dimmer in the morning. Over all you have a nice building but let there is still a lot of work to be done - i am very disappointed. I would like to highlight that a very young man named Andre was trying to help us at his level to get things fixed the best way he could - I recommend the hotel management to give value to hard working employees like him who i am sure will have fixed our issued completely if he was higher ranked. - Thank you Andre.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This chalet reflects perfectly how Sintra is. Charming, full with warm hearted helpful people, colorful, cozy, warm atmosphere... Everything smells soo good, especially the soap and the body lotion, both available in cute authentic bottles. Entering the building already feels absolutely calm and spending some time in the living room while drinking the free offered port wine - you will never want to go home again. (probably cause you'll feel yourself at home) Yes, true that one has to go out like 1 min walk to have breakfast but that Cafe Saudade is one to be discovered more. Warm hearted welcome, nice interior, great smells, pretty good coffee... Highly recommended!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, informative, knowledgeable, helpful staff.
Cons: Having to pay for milk & coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so lovely! The staff, the room, the building, the breakfast.... would love to stay here again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were treated like royalty! Due to the covid virus we had to leave Portugal 4 days early. They were so kind as to allow us to change our night of stay and because we had to leave for the airport at 2am we would miss the breakfast at the cafe so they packed sweet little to go boxes for us to take away. Wonderful and beautiful place to stay and the staff is incredibly thoughtful!
Cons: Everything was great.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing. Right in the centre of everything. We were able to walk easily to all the great attractions (except for the Pena Palace, which we got a local driver to take us right up to the entrance - only local drivers can access the road right to the gate, so get the reception to arrange for you) We arrived a bit early, and reception went out of their way to get our room ready for us, even taking our luggage up for us, which was excellent service. Dinner was included in our stay and was excellent - the cellar is a must see!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff was super-friendly and helpful, one of the front desk staff parked our car right in front of the hotel (no charge), great location for good restaurants, transportation to the local sights, etc. Will definitely stay here again!
Cons: Only problem was a lot of construction in the area... Made driving around the area difficult, but likely only a temporary problem.

Cons: Room was not made up on second day. It was a mixup and hotel apologised but meant relatively poor value for the price of the hotel. Coffee at breakfast not great either.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, large room, good breakfast
Cons: Bed was a little hard and the pillows too high for the neck
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist Andre, was extremely helpful. He assisted in parking our car, restaurant booking and locating pharmacy around the vicinity. The free mini-bar in the room was a good gesture. Good location.
Cons: The room is rather small and the price is high compared to other similar size hotels. Though the toilet is clean & modern, the carpet looked old-time and not as clean, yet the hotel did not provide disposal slippers in the room. There is only one restaurant, not sure how it qualifies as four-stars.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Breakfast is super awesome as variety, freshly cooked eggs any style The honey and pollen on sale are divine The manageress and staff are super friendly and accommodating
Cons: This was my second stay and, this time I stayed in the twin room- I definitely preferred the size, bathroom and location of the double room two years ago though without a doubt having the lounge room as on outlet just off our twin room made up for the compact sizing of our room

Cons: Climb up the narrow stairs

Pros: The house was very comfortable and we had run of the house with the dining room stocked with coffee and tea and apples, the library with books and Libations and the living room had a television with satellite channels! The caretaker made us continental breakfast each morning and offered us an egg dish cooked to order. The location is a 5 minute walk straight up a hill to the Sintra Palace and main center with shopping and restaurants. You need to be able bodied to make that walk! Luckily we are but we are of an age that we wouldn’t want to do it at night as there are no sidewalks on the very narrow streets or lights. Uber is available! We would go back at stay at this Guest House!

Pros: What an incredible find! Villa dos Poetas was a picturesque place to stay while we visited Sintra. Fruit and nut trees filled the yard, the breakfast was simple and delicious, the room amenities were as advertised. The common spaces were great for socializing with other guests and swapping tips and tricks of visiting Sintra. We can't wait to come back and visit again!
Cons: Villa dos Poetas was close to the train station, but the roads to get there were really narrow. This is the case all over Portugal, so nothing unusual about it here. We often had to scurry across the street to avoid cars we could hear but not see around the corner.

(probably cause you'll feel yourself at home) Yes, true that one has to go out like 1 min walk to have breakfast but that Cafe Saudade is one to be discovered more. Warm hearted welcome, nice interior, great smells, pretty good coffee... Highly recommended!

Pros: Lovely setting with horses in a rural setting. The host was very helpful and invited us to have some fresh sardines with her family. Pool and pool area is really good with nice sun loungers. Tbe use of a small kitchen and bbq is great when you don't fancy having to go out. The welcome drinks and fruit were really appreciated and a nice touch. Overall we loved it. My daughter especially loved petting the horses. A lovely place for families.
Cons: It was just a little damp because the building is over 250 years old if you can live with that it perfect. Amazing place.

Pros: There is Volunteers in the staff from different parts of the world and they doing job great! Especially, girl from Lietuva I guess. She helped me to buy a ticket for a bus and explained where the bus stop is. After that she cooked a delicious cake, because someone have birthday. Everybody was celebrating, sitting at the table and telling stories. I love the atmosphere a lot!! Thank you so much guys!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Despite my "dislikes", this is an amazing hostel! Really nice atmosphere and vibe, the staff (lots of them!) are super nice, the place seems to attract a certain, mellow type of guest. The bar in the garden has really cheap drinks and the breakfast is good too. And the showers are sooo hot! I loved Sintra and I loved this hostel!
Cons: There was a problem with the entry key cards while I was there, but the staff were quick to fix it. I though the toilet cubicles were pretty tight as well, and I'm not tall! Also, the dorms on the ground floor open onto the common area so you're awake as soon as others are up and talking.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Service was poor, we had to carry our bags Room service menu didn't include any hot dish and it was very poor in terms of offer The room needed to be updated in terms of lighting, the fridge just had a bottle of water...
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Amazing large room with balcony on 5th floor with view of forest. Very large, comfortable bed and pillows. nice bathroom. Staff helpful and pleasant. Elevator! Great location. Lovely, historic hotel nestled in a beautiful location. Highly recommend.
Cons: WiFi not always reliable in bedroom but worked great in sitting room.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The only good thing about it is the location.
Cons: Reception staff was terrible. Our first room had an irritating noise coming from the air conditioning. We asked the staff about this and the lady it was normal since all the system passed through that room... After our persistence the lady got us another room, still with a bit of noise, but bearable. The last day, in the morning, when we were preparing to shower, there was no hot water. We to reception again and the lady told us she couldn't do nothing, and that we had to wait until next Monday... After some persistence and with the help of a cleaning lady eventually she asked another person to try and fix the problem. The feeling I got is that some employees didn't care about anything. This is 5 star hotel, but to be honest I would rate it 3 star... We got really disappointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great character, very at home place, room and view spectacular, wonderful breakfast
Cons: Getting the car from the parking area back to hotel, although only a 3 minute walk, was long and very complicated

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel had a homely and romantic feel to it; and staff were so very attentive
Cons: Explanation of breakfast menu options could have been more clear; we'd already filled on cold-buffet fare before we were told there were hot options available from the kitchen
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very historic. Great location. Staff very helpful. Atmospheric. Lovely relaxed dining room and good food.
Cons: Some elements were dated. Considering the age of the property this was quite understandable. Bathrooms some room for improvement. Hopefully when the weather warms the outside spaces will be improved.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: So tranquil and peaceful. Ideal location and base for exploring Sintra. Easy stroll to the village or up to Quinta do Regaleira.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great and breakfast not bad. The responsible for the Chalet was very nice and welcoming and breakfast not bad.
Cons: The Chalet is not very well maintained. It's an old structure and the rooms are the same way with old furniture. Toilet was not great, it had a shower curtain for example that is never the most hygienic option for the bathtub. There was a very loud fridge in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The chalet was awesome, and old and had character, great atmosphere! Very nice hosts. The gentleman that greeted us speaks English very well and was informative. It is close to everything, short walks but mind you, lots of walking uphill.
Cons: Everything was wonderful, the only issue is that the beds were not too comfortable, but the price was very good. We would recommend this place.
