Hotel Sauken

THe heating system just didn't work! It was reported to the staff, but nothing was done to solve. The guest got a cold in the first night.

The shower was hot. (Which is not always the case in Santiago/Chili)

When we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist couldn't find our reservation. We showed on our phone the confirmation of booking.com and the payment of our credit card. Nonetheless they wouldn't accept this. We were quite upset about this. After 2 hours of calling managers and promising solutions they came up with this (during this time we were not allowed to go into the room). We had to pay for 1 night as a security deposit (Although we had already paid). We ofcourse did not want to do this and got to speak to the manager. Who assured us that he had called booking.com for the payment details and that we would get the deposit nack straight away when the original booking would come through, moreover because of this all, he told us that we would get a discount. All three of these were lies. After calling booking.com later ourselves, they told us that there had been no contact between the hotel and them. Moreover, it took 5 days of asking and waiting to get the deposit back, and when we got it back, it was less then the original amount. To top it all off, we never got the discount that the manager also promised. This hotel is not reliable and I would definitly not recommend this hotel to friends or anyone. Another issue is the breakfast. On the last day we needed to leave early, so we went to the breakfast place earlier than it should open. To our suprise it was all already set up, including a full pot of coffee that was cold. From this we drew the conclusion that they had set the breakfast (including the coffee and the "fresh food") the night before. Because on the earlier days we got served cold coffee too. This is in my eyes disgusting.

Location near office

It is a old home. Rooms without AC, bed very old, windows did not fully close. Breakfast place is at the top with plastic walls and breakfast food are less than usual house. Personal service don’t like to offer you a good service. It is little more than Bad Hostel.

Room was clean

Advertised as being able to speak English. This was not true and made communication very difficult.
