Pros: The layout

Pros: Localization. Near the center. However don't go out after 9. It is not secure

Cons: exe hotel was the worst hotel I've been during my travel on central america: Claustrophobic rooms with no window and low ceilings; The cleanliness of the rooms is very bad. Too much dust on the carpet. During the two first days the towels were completly old and broken. When we talked about this they said that the problem was in the laundry.. Breakfast very bad. Fresh bread disappear in the first 20 mn and they don't put more. If you ask for fresh bread they say " we don't have more" without tryng to solve the reclaim; Staff in the breakfast always sitting in the balcony using their mobilies. They don' t give any attention to clients. Tables are dirty and full of leftover food and staff playng with their mobiles; Internet is terrible. Forget if you think you have good signal in the rooms. My recommendation to the hotel managers is: look at the staff and the way how they behave; profissionalize the staff they don't know anything about tourism; My recommendation to tourist: choose another hotel

Pros: Staff was really helpful, breakfast was great and location was good in San Jose Center

Cons: Ceiling in the room was soo low that felt a bit trapped , but it was a nice room

Pros: Our first room had no windows so we requested to move. They then upgraded us to a beautiful room with a gorgeous view. This really made the stay worthwhile. The staff are always willing to help and incredibly lovely.

Pros: I liked everything about the hotel. We did not eat the breakfast though, it was $15. We walked two blocks and had a delicious local meal for $3.

Cons: The very tny parking garage.

Pros: The front desk guys were so helpful! We got upgraded to a room with windows! Room was cleaned and stocked everyday. Also, the hotel is walking distance from some yummy Sodas.

Cons: The area is a little sketch. Lots of traffic! The parking garage is small and a tight fit. Felt like those park the car puzzles. You have to ask the front desk staff to open it everytime, but they were always so nice about it.

Pros: Clean, fresh and spacious rooms!

Cons: Super dark rooms with no windows!!!

Cons: The elevator wasn’t working properly wen you insert the room key in the slots to take you to the room you need to insert it more than 10 to 15 times

Pros: Newer very clean hotel. Breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly. Close to downtown and felt completely safe in the area.

Pros: The hotel was in very good condition. The room was large with a king bed, desk, and lounging chair.

Pros: Great hotel close to shopping center, restaurants, and more. I would definitely come back and stay again.

Pros: My sister and I stayed one night at Hotel Aranjuez. The service was amazing and room was clean and comfortable. We were nervous because we hadn't heard good things about San Jose, but we felt safe and welcomed as soon as we arrived at the hotel. The receptionist gave us great recommendations for restaurants and activities, and the hotel was close to most major sights. I would definitely recommend staying at Hotel Aranjuez!

Pros: Hotel Aranjuez is special, besides the fact that they have the best breakfast, the art work on display makes it stands out.

Pros: The hotel is very close to an area full of restaurants and bar. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious! Also, served in a very nice patio with garden. I liked all the traditional Costarican "puppets" scattered all around the place and the internal gardens. The staff is kind and it's useful to have it 24h. To be noted: the restaurant. It is definitely worthy a visit! And remember to reserve in advance!

Cons: Our room's bathroom was very small, it was difficult to move inside it.

Pros: The breakfast was spectacular and exceeded my expectations!

Pros: Instant hot water, and great shower!! Felt very secure, and great breakfast. Staff were very polite, and helpful.

Pros: The location of Hotel Aranjuez is perfect. We were able to easily walk to the National Theater, the Jade Museum and plenty of restaurants.

Cons: Loved the hotel layout, lots of character. There were several outdoor areas to enjoy the evening.

Pros: The hotel is nice and clean! It’s beautiful decorated and really has a local and personal touch! All staff have been very friendly and helpful!! Breakfast was great! It’s not brand new but so nice decorated and taken care of, we really enjoyed our stay!

Pros: The restaurant is great the waiters are super Victor in restaurant is always super he knows where we want to sit what we want to eat and our names kids names etc. he is the best thing about the hotel. The room cleaners are always great .. We have been going to your hotel for a decade and have seen all the changes.

Cons: The desk lady Marbela she is during the day is absolutely terrible. Disrespectful, rude. loud, foul mouthed. I am married to a Costa rican woman and we have 3 kids our youngest 5 year old has brain tumours and is under care in Costa Rica so i travel alot to Cr well she accused my wife but being a hooker and needed to pay $10 to let her up to my room, my other son jaffet came and was just dropping off his suitcase and she wanted us to pay $10 for that and etc. Next my other son came to hotel with his girlfriend to pick us for lunch and she would not let him up I had to bring his ID downstairs with me and she berated me telling me in a loud tone I should know better and your wife should know better she continued what she was doing ignoring us so I dropped his ID (front the customer shelve to her desk and she yelled your son is not going upstairs you disrected me by throwing his ID which I said I did not not I then throw his second ID and said now that is throwing one. For 15 minutes she refused to let him come upstairs and finally did and I paid $10. She had called the security guards over who do not speak english and was telling them a different story that I was not respectful and her own story so i am sure the security guys will tell you just what she said because they only heard her story they were not close enough to hear as one was by the door and other was at the entrance to the casino. In ten years I have been to your hotel about 100 times and never had a problem. As my friends and family you can check john Mcdowell, Anthony Cappellino, Thomas Schoenewolff and William Waters they have traveled with me about every 2 months have had the same problems with her in the last few months. If you would like them to email their complaints to you they will. The entire time Marbela id sniffling constantly as if she was snorting cocaine so I suggest her drug test your employees. Under her hreath she was using bad words in spanish to me. my wife, and my sons it was disgusti

Cons: I did find a roach crawling in the room which is ok. I wasn’t to upset about that. But, there was no water in my shower. I let it run for 20 minutes with nothing. I complained to the front desk. And they did nothing but told me they will have the engineer check. I couldn’t take a shower before my flight which was a big deal to me. This was my second time staying at this property

Pros: The breakfast was a bonus and was very tasty. The Italian restaurant is one of the better time restaurants in San Jose. They will cook specialty orders upon request. The location is fantastic. I have a nice apartment about 40 minutes away, but I would rather stay at Taormina during the weekend, so that I am close to all of the action, such as the many fine bars and restaurants downtown. It is very centrally located, yet located far enough away from the dangerous sounds, that it is very confident and mellow outside the hotel along the streets. It has a fine casino and sportsbook and the sportsbook is excellently run and will pay you immediately if you win a bet. The in-house sportsbook as very competitive prices and many times better prices than competing sportsbooks in San Jose. It is located very close to other casinos if you want to try your luck somewhere else, such as the Casino Colonial. There are for a few pretty girl's in the bar, but not too many and no one harasses you. The prices of drinks in the bar are very reasonable. So you could either bring your girlfriend or wife there or you could go there on a gentleman's trip. I use to go to the hotel 15 years ago when it was called Mona Lisa. It was then closed for quite a while and I didn't know if would ever reopen. They then reopened it and while they had made some changes, they still had a lot of old furniture, bedspreads and carpeting and an old bathroom. The 2nd renovation was out of this world and exceeded all of my expectations and installed beautiful showers. I believe that is when the new owner from BetCris bought the establishment. I think that it is fantastic that they made a 4*hotel out of an old, unique building with great architecture. You can hear any noise off the street because even the 2nd floor is quite elevated in the street below is not a very busy street for downtown San Jose.

Cons: It is perfect the way it is. Don't changes a thing and allow people to continue to smoke outside the building, in the designated area, even though I am not a smoker, because they have a right to have somewhere to enjoy their vice.

Pros: I only stay at Taormina, It is my official "go to" place whenever I am in San Jose (I am there at least 5 times a year). The facilities are clean, the staff is nice and the rooms have been renovated within the last year as well. I love the casino/bar and restaurant and everything in downtown San Jose is walking distance.

Pros: I enjoyed the comfortable, pleasant, warm and friendly staff. I felt that there is value to my stay here. This has been a repeat stay and with the service and staff here I will be back.

Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.

Pros: Comfortable beds with great a/c in the room. Great restaurants on the surrounding streets and close walk to center of San Jose.

Cons: The rooms were clean but they had that strong smell of soap and detergent, I have a sensitivity to this smell and feel.

Pros: Location quite central though at the bottom of a hill which might be an issue for some people

Cons: Included Breakfast was very disappointing, both in quantity and quality. just a couple of slices of melon, coffee, a small piece of plastic cheese, a slice of processed ham and 2 slices of toast. Could really be improved. Stayed in two different rooms and neither looked anything like the pictures

Pros: The guest policy and the location.

Cons: Mini bar was empty when I arrived and I had to argue to make sure I was not then charged for it all. Room was WAY too hot and the windows don't stay open. Very, very noisy.

Pros: The breakfast was not breakfast it wa more like a free piece of sliced fruit orange juice coffee or tea with two piece of sliced bread and some jam

Cons: You can’t have visitors

Pros: The hotel was cosy, nicely styled (certainly nicer architecture than most of the rest of the city), and the staff were helpful and friendly. The parking was free and very secure. The bar was a very cool space, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Cons: The breakfast was a complete waste of everyone's time. I had to go to the front desk to get a voucher, and then wait 30 minutes for 2 slices of toast with a single piece of ham, and 2 pieces of cheese. The coffee was as weak as american diner coffee. Quite how it took so long to make 2 pieces of toast is beyond me. To anyone staying there I'd recommend skipping the breakfast, there are plenty of cafes in the local area.

Cons: total scumbags paid for a deluxe room and I check in to a terrible room mind you hotel is empty went to front desk and asked to see a regular room and guess what regular and deluxe are the exact rooms saw the gringo and tried to get over demanded a refund or the right room was given a refund and was treated like I did something wrong total rip off

Cons: The booking was for breakfast included in the price. It was only after I had finshed eating that the waitress told me it was only the continental breakfast that was included and that I should have been given a voucher. She said I would have to pay as I had ordered something else. I was not told this when I paid for the room the night before, or given a voucher. When I spoke to the hotel manager (who was not the person on reception when I paid) he first of all said he would have told me. When I said it wasn't him who I paid, he then said he had told me the next day. He had asked for payment twice the next day when my bill had already been settled and on neither of those ocassions did he mention a breakfast voucher. When I said he hadn't told me and asked why didn't I have a voucher then, if he'd told me, he then said it didn't matter as I would still have to pay. So a breakfast that was meant to be included cost me $8.

Pros: The restaurant is directly connected to the hotel and it is really good. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
