Pros: The best breakfast I have had at a hotel that comes with a room. Very friendly staff and a clean room. All thee of our rooms were great. The staff (Mike) at breakfast spent time talking with each of the guests and asking how those who were having medical issues were progressing ( the hotel is across the street from Mayo). Pool and gym were nice. Parking was fine.

5.0 Okay
Pros: I liked that there was a bedroom separate from the kitchen/living room area. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: It claimed to have a fully equipped kitchen which was not true - it is a sparcly equipped kitchen. The couch was uncomfortable as was the side chair. We were given 1 fork 2 spoons and dirty dishes, the couch was full of crumbs, the extra pillows were covered in someone else’s hair. The toaster had some kind of burnt residue all over it. The one time my husband ate at the community dinner he got sick that night. The breakfast on two of the days had no protein other than eggs. The extra blankets we were given were very rough looking and they looked 10 years old. When we asked for more supplies it took calling several times of minutes of ringing for someone to answer. Came to find out it was because the front desk person is responsible for running around delivering things to the rooms at night and while she is gone no one was manning the front desk. When we spoke to the manager the following day he kept saying “if you want to leave we understand” I didn’t want to leave I wanted someone to fix the issues. He did comp us one night.

6.0 Good
Pros: Clean, newer hotel, in very good shape. Nice pool and hot tub. Outside of the downtown Rochester, so less crowded and better prices. Friendly staff.
Cons: The main downside is that one side of the building faces a busy highway and I was awakened by traffic noise. If you're sensitive to noise, as I am, then best to avoid this hotel. Breakfast was average, with reheated frozen eggs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Next to a good restaurant and easy access to main road
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness is foremost and that was excellent. The rooms were cleaned daily. The front desk staff was professional overall:a few were excellent, others were sufficiently pleasant. I also appreciated the wide breakfast menu selection.
Cons: One day the cleaning lady assigned to my room left it uncleaned (skipped over it), and I had to request that someone else be assigned to my room. Staff responded promptly and the roomed was cleaned to my satisfaction.

Pros: I liked that you served soup in the evening. Had it been homemade would have been a special touch
Cons: use real food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and new. Breakfast was more than just the usual carb-fest. I had some nice french toast and pretty darn good sausages.
Cons: They do have a shuttle to the Mayo Clinic that makes quite a few stops. If you're coming in from the airport you should probably rent a car.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Bed was good. Room was clean
Cons: Orange juice dispenser wasn't proportioned equally. Orange juice was watered down. Told front desk every day for 5 days and it still never got fixed. Also, dryer took 4-5 times putting more and more money in and still never dried our clothes. Was light loads too. Told front desk and nothing was done. Also need different breakfast ideas. Same fake sausage and eggs as always. They need to learn how to do breakfast like Holiday Inn and Suites with biscuits and gravy and a lot of other options.
7.9 Good
Pros: The cleanest
Cons: Did not know about the soup until the next day
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were nice. Location was quiet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, friendly staff, well kept and had a good breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was great. Would have liked to see biscuits and gravy other than so many egg options or along with.
Cons: The night employee could have been more friendly. It seemed like buying water from your pantry was an inconvience to him.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are always friendly & accommodating.
Cons: I've been staying here once a week for many weeks now and my biggest complaint is that they like to shut down breakfast 30 minutes before the advertised time. I ended up going out after this stay because virtually nothing was available.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent...lots of options. Everything was very clean. Would definitely stay there again.
7.1 Good
Cons: Housekeeping didn’t come in for days.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly.
Cons: The breakfast was the only disappointment of the stay. The hard boiled eggs were overcooked and rubbery. The egg "omelet" already had cheese inside so it wasn't a good low calorie option. Regular scrambled eggs would have been a better choice. The lighter brew coffee was still way too strong. It wasn't horrible but it will factor into my hotel choice in the future.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Meals provided were great as well as staff at that time
Cons: The outdoor common area seems more like a smoke room being a non smoker was hard to use that beautiful area being as smells like smoke and buds all over the place maybe a separate area for smoking
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The bed frame was cracked. I informed the staff on our departure and they promised to fix it. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable
4.6 Okay
Cons: The room was a nice size to visit in. The bed was not clean, it was obvious someone else had slept in it. I lifted the sheets and lots of long hairs everywhere in the bed. I went to front desk and told them the bedding needed to be changed. He said he could not leave the desk, but he did give me new sheets to put on. Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff has always been fantastic. Usual amenities for a Suite. Above average breakfast selection. Happy hour Monday-Wednesday with food & beverage.
Cons: Have stayed here multiple times & have never had a dirty room like this upon arrival. I truly believe they made the bed & straightened things up but did not clean. Previously I have always rated cleaning an 9, this time a 5.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, amenities, breakfast
Cons: Cleaning has been subpar the last couple stays here
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel! Was our first experience at this brand. Will be our preference in the future!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful suites!
Cons: The hot tub smelled very strongly of chemicals and had foamy bubbles.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: An amazing place for a child's birthday party
Cons: It seems they were short-staffed and while we were there we had an interaction with the police we walked out of room to see police every where in the hotel , do to other guests at the hotel kind of was a little scary but everything was taken care of in a pretty well mannered
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Kids loved the pool, and the breakfast was good. They also had a pack and play for us to use! I liked we could cook our own meals in the kitchen in the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice Room
Cons: No social dinner
7.5 Good
Pros: Water park was nice. My 2 year old loves it.
Cons: Room and wasn't the cleanest but it wasn't terrible. Stayed here because of the water park and shuttle for Hospital. There was some confusion in the pick up schedule. I should have asked more questions I guess because the paper schedule was a little confusing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great accommodations....I stayed three months in a similar set up and this hotel was far above that one....in fact, there was no comparison! Clean, staff fantastic.
7.5 Good
Pros: My husband was very pleased.
Cons: Had trouble connecting to wired internet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was one of the greatest experiences my family and I have had. The staff was very helpful and always had a smile on their faces which made it that much better. Very very clean! We will definitely be coming back and I will definitely recommend this place for anyone with pets and or children!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: For many years, we have been staying here once a month to attend a board meeting in Rochester. Cindy, Lynne, are terrific as are all the staff - kitchen, housekeeping, cleaning... are are always friendly, polite, accommodating, and professional. Beds are very comfortable and rooms very clean. On rare occasions, we can hear footfalls from the floor above us; it seems to be from small kids running around and doesn’t last long. We never hear the footsteps of people simply walking.
Cons: Minor thing - There is no hand soap in the kitchen, though there is a small bottle of dish soap. If, like me (foodborne disease epidemiologist), you wash your hands frequently when preparing food, it’s a little inconvenient. On the other hand, it’s a ridiculously easy fix just to ask for an extra bar of soap or use one of the two bars provided for bath and shower.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was a great size super comfy, hotel lobby felt very welcoming, the breakfast buffet had a huge variety, barely heard the neighbors, very clean room
Cons: The elevator was pretty delayed when we tried to use it. We took stairs instead a couple times.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: My preference is non-pet room
7.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Not the most comfortable mattress
7.0 Good
Pros: It was clean
Cons: No

Cons: Everything was great
6.7 Good
Pros: The location is convenient and great breakfast buffet.
Cons: Foldout sofa was awful, springs were poking through mattress. Floor was dirty with peanuts, fingernails, etc. We would have asked for a different room if it had not been so late (we arrived at 1:30am). Huge disappointment.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a very spacious suite, and the breakfast was good. The front desk staff was outstanding!
Cons: The outside appearance gave us pause since it has the look of a 70's cheap motel. The inside was very nice however.
7.1 Good
Pros: Pleasant people. Coffee or tea available which is key! Suite large and comfy.
Cons: No amenities like a gym or pool. The surrounding area is dismal. Breakfast awful and industrial/unhealthy. Everything is on the cheap. Not a real cup in sight. Kitchenette but not a spoon or cup or knife or plate. The details tell the story.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel room was great. The staff was really helpful. Will definitely stay here again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: very spacious room
6.3 Good
Pros: Extremely large rooms. Separate living room with small kitchen with microwave and toaster. Full size refrigerator. Separate dressing area with second sink from bathroom. Sofa and recliner and dining table in living area. Separate a/c units in each room.
Cons: Wood floor in kitchen was bad due to poor seal on refrigerator door. Not much around to walk to for food and hotel did not provide their own shuttle. It’s a 45 minute walk to Mayo Clinics.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Roomy and clean rooms. Friendly staff. I liked the floor plan and set up of the room location as well as the room itself.
Cons: No.

Pros: Not a pleasant stay. No internet service even if it was “free”. Room just not comfortable.. entire hotel felt like a motel6 . No shuttle service when I definitely needed it!!! Someone working on laying tile on entrance floor when trying to get in and out of hotel. It was not what I expected for the money I was spending... would go back to doubletree in future. Linda Hawks
Cons: See above. I addressed all complaints
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed and TV were fine. Very high priced. The restroom was small. the door on the restroom was too close to the floor. I say this because the floor rug on the floor keeps getting caught when opening and closing the door.
Cons: One of the desk patrons said check out time was Noon. And I said the website said it was 3:00 PM. And she said "no no it's noon". Then I said, "You need to change that then." She laughed and I left. other then that, I'd give it a 5 out of 10.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was excellent and loved having a pool side room.
Cons: There was never anyone at the front desk. Waited 5 minutes and finally someone came out from the office in the back. Stopped several times for directions to a party I was attending at the Kahler (a sister property owned by Marriot across the street). No one ever appeared at the desk.

Pros: Walking distance to where we needed to go
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: They staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: They staff was very friendly, but the carpet had something sticky on it. The carpet was nasty in the room. The room was expensive then 16 dollars a day additional for parking? So not doing well enough that you have to nickel and dime your guest with rooms not in the best shape.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean. It was very close to the Mayo Clinic for my appointment.
Cons: The person at the counter wasn't informative at all. She acted like I was a nuisance when I showed up to check in. I had to ask about parking, where the elevators were, etc. She told me the parking was a block and a half away.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Convenience of nearby restaurants
Cons: Expensive parking in tunnel, not an available psrking lot and there is a $16 fee to park overnight. You have to walk a long way from parking lot through tunnel and take 2 elevators just to get to Marriott hotel rooms. charge for EVERYTHING - rude staf
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Salute' Bar and grill staff and food were delicious. Concierge level dining was average. The staff were impersonal and no dessert was ever served (i.e. cookies). The table tops were unclean at times.

7.1 Good
Pros: The second two nights were very comfortable after they moved us from the 6th floor room to the second floor suite.
Cons: When we arrived we were put in a room on the 6th floor. The air was so bad that we called and made a complaint. Maintenance came and checked the furnace filter and the brought us a fresh air machine but even that didn’t help much. My husband has asthma and it was driving him crazy. They moved us the next morning.
6.7 Good
Pros: Satisfied with breakfast, beds comfortable, extremely convenient to return to following my procedure.
Cons: Seemed old and a little worn down. We parked in the hotel lot and our rental car was broken into and GPS stolen. I told the front desk and she said that the manager would call and he never did.

Cons: The charge to park in their lot.
6.0 Good
Pros: I liked that the hotel was right across from the Mayo Clinic, which was the reason for our stay.
Cons: Ridiculous that as a guest of the hotel, we still had to pay $14 PER DAY to park. Also, our tub wasn't clean and had hair in it. Pros: close to Gonda Better coffee than before.Good wake up calls .Room close to elevator
Cons: Bed was not comfortable.Shower &bath oldTub held water when showering
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: It was a convenient location. I was there for a class reunion and the banquet was held in the hotel
Cons: The rooms were very small and cramped. Had not ween well cleaned - dust on rug under dresser so it was not vacuumed for a long time. Bathroom floor needed a good scrubbing. There were carpet stains. This is supposed to be a "grand" hotel??? Bathroom had one bar of soap, one tube of shampoo and one conditioner. Nothing else! In a nice hotel, you expect more. Price was same or higher as other hotels in the area, but the value for the money was very low. Every person at the reunion who stayed there agreed with me. Food in restaurant and at banquet was terrible! For breakfast I ordered 2 eggs over easy and toast and coffee. Coffee was so bitter we could not drink it. Toast was burned and cold. Had not been buttered. Eggs - white was runny. At the evening banquet, rolls were strong dill and not very good. Salad greens were tough and chewey. Not enough dressing. We did not have enough rolls for our table and they told us they did not have more in the kitchen. Potatoes were very salty and nothing special. Meat VERY fatty! I know they are undergoing renovations. No excuse for any of this. Oh, there were 2 plugs in the room and we had to unplug lights to charge our phones. This was more like a $50 room than the "Grand Koehler"!
7.9 Good
Pros: Very convenient to Mayo Clinic
Cons: Old and small bathroom, lumpy bed with super soft (flat) pillows. However, they are in the process of a major remodel project.
7.9 Good
Pros: Close to Mayo Clinic! Lobby and restaurants are excellent.
Cons: The rooms are old and smell musty. They were doing remodeling on most floors and when I returned from Mayo, I just wanted to rest after a whirlwind of tests but construction noise made it impossible!
6.0 Good
Pros: Proximity to Mayo Clinic.
Cons: Room #1 = no heat & 1/2 the lights didn't work. Room #2 = everything ok. Lots of construction going on in the hallways. Would have thought they would have shut down a floor, do that floor 100% and move to another floor.
7.9 Good
Pros: Close proximity to work. Many nearby places for food.
Cons: The on going renovation. Troublesome access to gym and swimming pool.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location. Historic hotel. Pool
Cons: The room cupboards door was falling off. The toilet was leaking. Both those things happen. But we had the thermostat set to 50 for 2 days and it was supper hot and stuffy the hole time. The window was locked and could not be opened at all.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Under total refurbishment underway not sure it's even safe to be open
7.1 Good
Pros: The Hotel has a great location. Good staff and it doesn't have noise. The bad side is that is old, and they are repairing it and it looks scary as The Shine hotel.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: location
Cons: construction
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything!
Cons: Renovations were being done. Original room given was dusty, but the following day, was able to move to another room when one became available.
