Car rental at Quepos Airport

Along with a valid driver's license, you'll need to show the rental agent the credit card that was used to book your car rental at Quepos Airport. This credit card should be in the name of the primary driver and the one who will ultimately be responsible for the car. If you're from another country, the rental car agent might also ask to see your passport and/or another form of identification such as a military id.

All the Quepos Airport car hires accept major credit cards like MasterCard or Visa. Therefore, this is the surest and safest way to pay for your car rental at Quepos Airport. Some rental car agencies will accept a debit card for payment at the end of the contract. Others might accept a debit card for a security hold as well as payment for the car rental. If you plan to use a debit card, note that some restrictions might apply such as you might be asked to pay a higher security deposit. Check with the rental car agency for clarity on their payment policy.

You will need to get approval to leave Costa Rica in your rental car. It is, however, at the discretion of the individual agency as to whether you can leave the country in your rental car. Some car rental agencies, like Economy Rent a Car, have a policy that prohibits their rental cars from being taken outside of the country.

Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Quepos airport to off-airport locations include Budget, and Economy Rent a Car.
