Nice facility and staff
Gave us a room with 2 full beds instead of the Queen we had booked - but gave us late checkout in return
Trying to be boutique but dirty and run down
Location
Room was dirty. There was sticky stuff on the chair and the desk that clearly had been barely cleaned and the floors were swollen and sticky and clear stains on the bathroom floor. The view was not as shown and the windows were covered in dirt.
Showed up at 2AM to have to be put into a dirty TINY bunk bed room
once we got into our NORMAL room, it was spacious and clean but still had a moldy stench, free access to a full gym 2 blocks away
landing at 1AM and finding out our room had an issue so we had to squeeze into a bunk bed room (size of a train sleeper compartment), which was dirty (dirty sheets). They said we'd get "free" wine which never showed. When we got put into our new room, much better but it still had a very odd moldy stench. Lastly, this place tries to squeeze every dollar out of you. Luggage holding is free for up to 2 bags, then there's a fee for anything over 2 items.
Wonderful experience
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AMAZING!!! Check in/Check out was easy process, both reps were helpful, friendly and AWESOME. The hotel room was clean and warm - the view was New York. I had to laugh because I didn't see where the bathroom was upon walking, but it was tucked on the side. EVERYTHING was walking distance, I never had to chance to make it to the restaurant.
The ONLY thing I didn't like was the mini-bathroom, the shower was fine, but the space for the toilet... I needed a little bit more room, but it was clean. The room had two beds and the bathroom door / 2nd bed had about 6 in of space between the two. I wouldn't want to share this room, but perfect for a solo traveler. YES I will come back to The Paul.
I didn't get to stay there. When I got there the hotel said they had informed Kayak that the room had been canceled and Kayak should had notified me. You didn't and I had to find something else and pay $80 in cabs running around ny to find out I had no room and go to another hotel.
The Paul Canceled My Reservation and I Had Nowhere
I won't stay here again. They claimed that I had no reservation after booking on Kayak and Getaroom when I arrived at 1:45 AM. They weren't helpful in finding me a room until I noted that there was nowhere to go at that time in the morning. Sux.
Things to know in advance...
Staff are fairly friendly and responsive. The location is pretty solid, blocks away from various rooftop bars, Ktown, the subway, and Times Square (if you're into that sort of thing).
1. An advertised $15/person airport shuttle service turned into a $24/person airport shuttle service. Do not let yourself be fooled or you will find yourself on the LIRR to Airtrain like I did. 2. The rooms are small. Especially if you are staying in a room with a single bed. 3. Our AC unit caused a random pool to form by the window which resulted in some wet clothes when we woke up the next morning.
Decor, toiletries scent, location, interior design in room as well as remainder of hotel. Complimentary breakfast and coffee a nice touch. Online checkin was simple and convenient. Happy for keurig in the room.
The reason I rated facilities a 3 was because we had problems keeping the ac on in our room. At times, it got up to 80 degrees, we kept having to push on the fan button at 2 am because room was stuffy. Also, suggest changing to different fire alarm in room. It's like a strobe light in the dark. Also, could have used a vanity kit and lotion as part of the toiletries.
Great front patio! Great location!
Rooms were smaller
