Loved the location. Close to Pen Station, steps to the subway. Lots of restaurants, and places to shop, close to Macy’s Herald Square. Friendly staff.
Elevators are slow. Waited several minutes for an elevator.
The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Great variety. The check in was good and holding the bags after checkout was convenient.
The bathroom floor was dirty. The chair at the desk had greasy hand prints all over the top of it. The rooms were small. The A/C was very loud.
This was our 6th stay at the same hotel, and the reason for that is that we love the location and are familiar with the hotel now and know what to expect. The staff is always great - they always greet you with a smile, are helpful, and always make sure that your needs are met.
It's really time to change the comforters in the rooms, as they are completely worn out and making guests use worn out/old comforters is insulting. We pay thousands of dollars to stay at this hotel for a week, and having decent bedding should be a priority for the hotel. Also, on our 7th and last day, we realized that upon check-in, our bed sheets hadn't been changed; there was a stain on the sheet at the foot of the bed, which we noticed when we undid the bed. Not making sure that every room has clean sheets for new guests is not only unacceptable but it's also a disgusting thing to do. Making new guests sleep in someone else's dirty sheets because it's easier than changing them is unacceptable. We did not mention this to the staff as it was our last day.
Excellent location and hospitable staff, comfortable bed
Window curtains looked old and did not match quality of hotel.
Bed was comfortable, room was clean.
No refrigerator in the room, room was small.
An exceptional mid-scale 146 room property located in Herald Square/Empire State Building area in lower midtown, close to Madison Square Garden/Penn Station/Macy's/Times Square and offering commanding views of the Midtown Manhattan area from many of our guest rooms.
