OK so the good stuff. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke very good English. This is a more traditional Japanese experience and I really enjoyed getting into that side of my trip. You get full unlimited access to the Onsen during your stay (when it's open) and I fully encourage you to take advantage of this even just once, take the small towel from your room and you will be fine. Speak to the staff if you have tattoos, small ones are fine (size of a silver dollar) otherwise cover them up but talk to them first as it would be rude not to. The Hotel is located very close to Nagoya Station and is perfect for a quick stopover in one of the four major Japanese cities. There is a lift which connects directly to the accommodation so don't haul your bags up the stairs unless your feeling strong!
Firstly this isn't a negative review there are just a few things that people need to be aware of when you stay here. 1)take your shoes off when you go inside, this is a more traditional Japanese experience and as such there are some rules you need to follow. 2)We needed some prior warning that there was no shower or bath in the room Or in the hall before we arrived (this may be on the main page somewhere but it needs to be much clearer that the Onsen is the only means of taking a shower or bath) as my friend has several tattoos and this made them extremely uncomfortable. 3)Also for the price the room was extremely noisy with loud crashing and banging going well past 4am making it almost impossible to sleep without earplugs. 4) It is impossible to check in before 4pm and there is no bag drop so be prepared for this (again prior warning about this would have been appreciated as it affected our timetable).
Value for money. Friendly helpful staff. Location near Nagoya Station, comfy bed and room. All Clean and I like the public bath facility. Free daily towel and toiletries. Have several restaurants near the hotel and they even have a restaurant beside them. Also nearby to 7/11 for your needs.
I have my white noise earphone mp3 player always specially when I sleep so it’s all okey and I had no problems when it comes to the rooms that were not sound proof. The price of the room are one of the cheapest near Nagoya station, so I don’t expect that it’ll be sound proof like those very expensive 5 star hotels.. to me this hotel is almost perfect.
I enjoyed the sento twice a day during my stay. It has several baths and is quite spacious. My room was super, with a fridge, TV, toilet, aircon and a comfortable bed. Very convenient location a short walk from Nagoya station, with plenty of konbini and restaurants around. Don’t forget to try the excellent curries at the Nepalese restaurant in the next building. Chana masala and nan were both outstanding.
The only downside is that because of my room’s location, I could hear the TV from the sento’s lounge area as well as some high pitched flute music during the sento’s business hours, so I had to wear my head phones inside the room not to go crazy. I am quite sensitive to sounds, though.
Quirky, lovely staff, short walk from Nagoya station, unlimited access to large public bath, decent size room for Japan, great value for money.
Rather than being a hotel with a public bath, this is a public bath with some rooms. Bath is open from 06:30 to 23:00, with a break during the day, but if your room is close to the reception desk you can hear the TV all the time, which makes it hard to sleep.
Very small room
