Pros: The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It sits right on a quiet historic plaza and the rooms are gorgeous. The staff helped us get tickets to the national soccer championship game and arranged a driver. Tons of great restaurants in walking distance.

Cons: The Jacuzzi on the roof didn't seem to work.

Pros: The best pet is the breakfast! But we liked everything really.

Pros: The breakfast was delicious with your eggs made to order. If you choose to have a cocktail in the library, an eager staffer will bring you ice and a mixer to go with the bottles of liquor available to you. The rooftop was great with a shower and hot tub. But nothing beats the accommodating staff and the location.

Cons: Nothing could have better. The beautifully decorated hotel is located perfectly to all of your Montevideo desires.

Pros: Very stylish individual accommodation in a great part of the city.

Pros: This hotel is next to a lovely little square in Montevideo’s Ciudad Vieja. Each room is decorated in honor of a famous Uruguayan. Our room, for Dona Juana, had a spacious balcony overlooking Plaza Zabala (unfortunately for us, the weather during our stay wasn’t conducive to time on the balcony). This is a great base for walking to sights, restaurants and shops in this central part of Montevideo. The breakfasts are very good and the staff are helpful.

Pros: Great location! Comfortable room with interesting decor

Cons: Tv didn’t work (but we didn’t care much and forgot to report to staff). Some staff (well, 1) was not well informed. Told us we could catch direct ferry to Buenos Aires at 11 on Saturday—wrong, it runs at 11 every day but Saturday! Also told us to run catch Buenos Aires bus at 9:30 on Thursday. Wrong—leaves at 10 am during week. We did really appreciate another staffer’s recommendation of Jacinto restaurant—loved it!!

Cons: They charged in mu credit card one more night, after i have paid all balance in cash.

Pros: Lovely rooms Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water was lovely Clean and well put together

Cons: There wasn't too much around the hotel but that could just be a personal bias. The food nearby wasn't great and the area shut down early at night

Pros: I didn't like anything.

Cons: I booked this hotel specifically for the bathtub. I travel 365 days of the year usually staying in hotels half the price of this one. But I decided to treat myself as I occasionally do. I booked and upgraded to a room with a bathtub, but when I arrived there wasn't a bathtub. I called downstairs and they simply said, "Some rooms have one, some don'T." I explained that I specifically requested one and he just said, "Sorry." I have to rate this experience a zero because my expectations were black and white: either it had a bathtub or it didn'T. It didn't, so it completely failed. Also, housekeeping didn't replace the towels on the floor of the bathroom -- so what am I paying for? I regretted booking this hotel so much that it ruined my entire stay in Montevideo. I'm generally a happy person so was cheerful touring the city, then I would have to come back to this hotel and be livid and irritated at how I was so easily bait-and-switched. I just feel completely ripped off. I don't need any special attention, I just need my one expectation matched.

Pros: Nice Hotel, close to sea side and friendly service.

Cons: Kitchen is not very useful because there is no material like stove, plates etc.

Cons: The door to the room was closed far from the first time.

Pros: Central location, a few hundred meters from the presidential palace and main city square. Close to old city. Modern, new hotel. We had a loft and it felt like a nice condo unit. Breakfast is good, with fresh orange juice and a variety of cheese, cold meats, fruits, pastries, omelette.

Pros: The level of cleaning was worth to mention. The breakfast was balanced and full of variety.

Cons: The internet connection is not fast or reliable at all. Also, one couldn't really tell whether the room service was coming in or not, awaking me couple of times.

Pros: Fantastic location, close to Ciudad Vieja and all bus lines to take you to the other parts of the city. Great view of the water from my room as well.

Pros: Clean, new, lots of hot water, good breakfast, free movies, nice small gym on the 10th floor with a view of the city and room for getting the sun, also great for watching the sunset. Desk staff was super especially Ines.

Cons: Some folks on desk had a bit of difficulty with English.

Pros: Location, Bar/Restaurant, room design, staff. This is the perfect base for your trip to Montevideo. But bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

Cons: Street noise pretty much all night.

Pros: After 3 years I booked the same room, I’m having the same wonderful experience as before. After a long day you have an excellent bed and the most wonderful shower, better hotel than most of the hotels in Europe.

Cons: The gym should be re checked or have new machines since some of them are not working properly. If you ask for room service you need to pick up your own food (they let you know via the phone when the food it’s ready, in our case the phone wasn’t working so when they let us know 15 minutes after knocking at the door, the food was almost cold), if you are charging 20% extra you should take it to the guest room. Staff isn’t the best at making you feeling welcome, some of them look like they hate their jobs.

Pros: The breakfast was very nice with lots of juice choices,scrambled eggs,toast and pastries. Nice tablecloths with available seating

Cons: Unfortunately there was noise outside the window-both voices with loud yelling into the late night and loud cars that put on their brakes. It is a popular tourist location and there was a lot of preparation with small drum and dancing parades for the carnival ahead.

Pros: Perfect location, good wifi, the single room has a good size, everything worked as is should, nice breakfast and very helpful staff

Pros: Super close to the sights in Ciudad Vieja - an easy walk to everything!

Cons: Very noisy rooms. Could hear a lot of noise from the street and neighboring rooms and the main hallway. Room did not have the metal shutters necessary to keep noise out.

Cons: Location was not the best, too much street noise, lots of homeless people outside. It wouldnt be a problem if they were not nagging us ALL THE TIME for money, they would even state a price, like a fee for parking on the street, a fee for walking around... Every time me and my friends went out they were there DEMANDING we give them money and would get mad if we did not

Pros: The hotel is very clean and in an excellent location for walking and dining. The breakfast was great!

Pros: Very well located in Puerto Viejo. Friendly and helpful staff.

Cons: Room was far smaller than I had anticipated. Coffee at breakfast was simply undrinkable.

Cons: Some staff need to seriously consider their career options. Whilst talking to a staff member at the reception desk he twice picked up a ringing phone and hung up without saying anything. Also, we were travelling with 2 children (family of 4). We were originally allocated a room with a double bed and a single bed. He looked confused when we mentioned we were a family of 4. "Mate, we won't fit". We were then changed to a room with 4 beds but this was a smoking room. Again, no good with children, or non smoking adults. Finally got a room that was suitable - yay, third time lucky.

Pros: We had a medical emergency and the staff called a doctor to come to the hotel. We were so thankful that we didn’t have to figure out the medical system abroad.
