Best customer service I've ever had a car rental agency. They are completely dialed in.
i love your staff at Minneapolis they are friendly and very helpful. the 800 customer service is only okay. we had a medical issue and had to extend one day and the cost was Higher then our daily rate. this was not the best service. i was on the phone for over 30 minutes. i also think it would be helpful for a Walk around and quick overview of vehicle when we pick up. this is done when we drop off, so it seems weird not to have that completed at time of pickup. these are small things .. my overall impression is still really good.

I had rented a jeep, and was told upon pickup that there was no guarantee it was all wheel drive, so I had to upgrade to a much more expensive car because the weather was really bad. My rental went from $499.00 to $1020.00! This should be noted on your site when booking. The agent was very good and just doing her job, so no complaints on the customer service!!

Worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I paid $400 for that. It was over an hour wait standing in line to get the car since there was only 1 employee working while the rest were wandering the garage. Then we were given a less fuel efficient car than we booked with no warning. And the car reeked of weed so bad we were nauseous our entire 2 hour drive. There was also no employee at the gate to let us out so we waited there for another 10 minutes.

I tried to rent a vehicle for my sister so she would be able to get around for her daughter's wedding in Minneapolis (sister lives in Florida), but there was never any indication that there would be a requirement that I be present in person in Minneapolis to complete the rental transaction. This caused a considerable amount of frustration and undue stress for my sister (and her daughter, who had to provide payment). Either make it so someone else can easily pay for another person when they themselves will not be present, or be more upfront about in-person requirements.

I arrived at MSP late, due to a delayed flight. When I got to the Thrifty counter, it was closed, with a sign directing me to the Hertz Gold booth on another floor. After slogging to the Hertz Gold booth, I found a long line being serviced by one employee, who repeatedly left to...well, I'm actually not sure what he was doing. But to be generous, he may have been going to deal with issues in the parking lot. (Just before I reached the counter, a second employee did finally arrive in the booth.) From the time I arrived at the booth to the moment I pulled out of the parking garage watt over one hour. The booth was just grossly understaffed to provide efficient service. I blame horrible management. Of course it was a Hertz booth, not a Thrifty booth. But if Thrifty is going to rely on Hertz to provide services to Thrifty's customers, Thrifty will have to accept responsibility for Hertz's awful service.

Most of the process was really good - easy pick up, pleasant staff, clean car, etc. BUT... the child car seats are totally mediocre and overpriced. Also, the text messages for 'check in', a few days/week ahead lead a person to think it's required (it's not). And thru that check in prompt, the company wants to get all your personal info AND your picture sent to them. Thrifty has forgotten about personal image and data privacy concerns and headed toward the 'big brother' way. Very disappointed by this aspect. Also very disappointed by the call center time. It's typical oversees information - totally unhelpful and language impaired. They basically repeat what can be found thru the web site and not able to offer more information. Blaagch!

Had to cancel because despite advice from Hertz before I booked, my additional driver could not pick up vehicle I made reservation for. Also Hertz couldn’t take my DL # off an old company account, even though my personal gold # was older & had my DL but date was expired. Great AI experience- would not direct me to liver person & cost $200+ for cancellation fee & 3rd party insurance scam that wouldn’t cancel.

The person helping at pick up was very nice. The vehicle was good. However, when I booked the car online, I paid $71.99 rental & $18 insurance in advance. When I was sent my final receipt, I was charged $213. We rented the car for less than 8 hours & the total was over $300 for a standard SUV. If this amount is correct, I'm very frustrated this total wasn't disclosed upon renting. Now I have to spend time trying to contact Hertz to discuss or dispute charges.

Employees arguing with each other. No cars were ready. 45min to check in with 4 people in line. First car smelled like human urine. 20min scramble to find another car. Staff does not really seem to want to help or interact with customers. Staff needed to be directed to check fuel on checkin. This location in particular is well known for charging refueling on full cars.

Overall Experience was great. I also called their customer care to confirm a few things and it was a pleasant experience with all the information that I needed provided. Check out was quick and easy. Return was quick and easy as well. The only thing was one of the cabin boxes was not cleared and had some candy and plastic water bottles from previous renters. Everything else was great.

It took over an hour to get a vehicle and it was a large truck with mpg half what I paid for since I booked a compact vehicle. They ran out of vehicles despite knowing these vehicles were paid for and reserved. The people that left when I arrived had waited 1.5 hours. Others were still having major delays later in the day. Exiting with the vehicle both the person in front of me and myself could not leave because we were not provided with the information needed for the automated and only toll lane. We caused a line that was only resolved by staff manually operating the booth.

I asked twice for at the counter for full insurance coverage. He assured me. Before I left the counter I asked for my rental agreement. He said it would be emailed. The email arrived a day later. No insurance. Too late to rectify it as I already was mid rental. When I returned the car they found an inside panel in the back was loose. I said no one was back there. Didn’t matter. They filed a claim against me. Insurance would have covered it. Never using Enterprise again.

The initial car was filthy inside and out….it was covered with some type of sticky, impossible to remove substance. The staff reluctantly switched cars, but not without a bunch of grumbling and a long wait. On the plus side, the drop off experience was seamless and the replacement vehicle, while smaller, was adequate. I recommend renting from another provider.

I was very disappointed. I reserved a suburban and then Avis said I’d reserved some small car in spite of my confirmation affirming my suburban reservation. I had to pay for an upgrade for something that was still less that what I originally reserved. Won’t be going back to Avis.

It was a little confusing getting to the dollar counter and getting the car. The rental car smelled like smoke, and apple CarPlay (Bluetooth) kept on disconnecting multiple times.
