Cons: There was only one thing I did not like about this hotel. It must be a pet friendly hotel? As soon as I walked in it smelled like unwashed dogs. Very strong in the entrance only and not as offensive in the halls. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and no other complaints.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice rooms. Great location
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel. Not within walking distance of the town center, but they did provide loaner bicycles.
Cons: Breakfast was not included; seems like for the price, they could have provided a plate of eggs. On-site restaurant was expensive; we ate elsewhere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very high quality hotel in a really nice location. It seems to have a nice combination of Vermont inn feel with the amenities of a large hotel (not like a bed and breakfast). We were very happy with it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and the bed , super comfy. They had hot apple cider when we arrived and coffee readily available in the morning. The grounds were well cared for, it looked and felt like Fall. Room and bath were exceptionally clean. The staff greeted all who walked in and out of the door.
Cons: Need at least 2 more bath towels and a hairdryer in the room. I think that towels and dryer are a bit more useful than the yoga mat. We arrived at 3pm and we were told to take a seat while the room was being inspected. In the next 15 minutes 2 other parties walked in and were checked in immediately while we sat waiting. Then I noticed that the women who told us to take a seat was no longer working. She forgot us.

5.8 Okay

Cons: Room was v.small.'Premier'was booked and the diff was interior facing windows vs.exterior.We faced dumpsters-nothing 'premier' about it.There was also NO DESK;No place for a laptop or room service.FLAWED room design! And 2 dogs next door barked alot.

Beautiful setting and mountain views with very intriguing artwork scattered throughout the spacious grounds. Excellent buffet, quality food ingredients and great views in the eating area. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Pros: Large room with good access to Manchester
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great views and our fireplace suite was good for that cosy night in when it was cold and raining outside. Fire was set each morning with plenty of wood. Two queensize beds in one room is strange to me, but comfortable. They supplied the room with a kettle when I said I wanted tea. Helpful staff and plentiful continental breakfast. There was a storm and the power was cut for most of the night and morning for most of the valley about 13 miles , (not the hotels fault) and they were very helpful with torches, and sending out for coffee for breakfast to someone with power.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly lady who owns the inn! Comfortable room! Very convenient!
Cons: Minor issue with tv. Satellite issue. They tried to fix it. Got it back enough.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: we went out for full breakfast-diner across the street, but the breakfast room looked inviting...
Cons: We slept in on Saturday & had "Do Not Disturb" sign on until about 12:15 pm-as we left for the afternoon we displayed the sign "Maid Service Please"-we returned later that afternoon to discover room had not been made up. When I called desk the owner (Male) said flippantly -"You had the sign on to not disturb". I said -"Just give us clean towels & we will leave it at that...'-he said "come to desk for them" but then brought them up to us and also immediately replaced a burned out light bulb, at our request. I feel that folks should be able to sleep in & also have room done up- the staff should have swung by later to see the sign for maid service. Having said this, every thing else was excellent the room was fastidiously clean when we arrived on Friday evening-Parking is really convenient. All rooms face away from parking lot, toward very attractive view of the back lawn & river. All furnishing were very comfortable including the bed. Their were two chairs set up near a table -they were comfortable to sit in to read-very unusual these days & rarest of all-the lighting in the room was excellent -overhead light, task lights over head for bed,s with convenient cord to shut off when ready to sleep, a reading lamp at the table & chairs. The room was also equipped with two sinks so we could both prepare for the day. Rooms feature a dorm style fridge that was also spotless & unplugged but ready to be plugged in, if one desired to use it The grounds are meticulously kept well attractive plantings. The female Innkeeper gave my husband quite a few suggestions for restaurants and sights to see, that were quite worthwhile. We would definitely return-I think it is the most well maintained Inn of any place we have ever stayed, including some very pricey hotels!!! It is obvious the innkeepers take great pride in their establishment and it shows.

7.9 Good
Pros: The bedroom area was recently renovated. Bathroom was renovated, but needed more care (see below). Friendly staff.
Cons: Although the room was renovated, the bathroom needed a little more care (new towel bar was added but holes showed from old towel bar, caulking was not neatly and cleanly applied, hook on back of door missing). Would have liked a mirror in the bedroom area or over desk area.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Easily accessible from the road, with parking outside each room, so no humping of suitcases :) The room was big, and a fridge, coffee maker & microwave included. The bathroom was bright and clean. The bed was reasonably comfortable although a little creaky. There was a reasonable selection of food for breakfast, and was kept stocked up with a busy flow of people.
Cons: The lighting in the room was awful, two side lights only for a big room, not sufficient at all. The towels in the bathroom were tiny and thin. We had two big beds, one had a smooth & uncreased sheets, the other had a really crumpled top sheet, so looked like it hadn’t been changed. The lobby, when we arrived had a really strong odour of curry. It had gone by the next day but wasn’t a good welcome.
7.5 Good
Pros: nice staff, very comfortable large bed, overall clean room, breakfast included
Cons: small not very nice bathroom, heating only possible with rather noisy A/C
5.0 Okay

Cons: The total absence of help;; no light, no water, not even a candle!

7.1 Good
Cons: Would have liked to have breakfast complimentary, especially given the price of the room - almost $1,000 for two nights. Also, too many room taxes!
6.7 Good
Pros: Staff at the Spa outstanding. Beautiful buildings and vibe.
Cons: Worst bed encountered in over fifty years of travel. Bed should have been replaced twenty years ago.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, service. Car service provided for a worry free night out to dinner!
Cons: Room was near noisy boiler. Kept kicking on throughout the night
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good pool and steam room.
Cons: Hot tub was not so hot... and too small. Beds were also getting saggy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Spa fitness area was excellent. The location was picturesque and great outdoor seating. Good hiking, but bring your bug repellent.
Cons: Nope
5.8 Okay
Pros: When we arrived at the 4:00 check in time there were no rooms available (for anyone not just me). The staff seemed completely clueless. After waiting over an hour I told the person at the front desk to refund my deposit and i would go down the street to the Kimpton. She said that the room was ready and not to do that. When we got to the room someone else was in it and wasn’t too happy to have us walk in on them. Went back to the desk and fought through a line of very angry people, I finally found someone who seemed concerned about the totally unacceptable situation. Her name was Krista and she seemed as appalled as we were about the situation. She somehow got us into a room, came and found us and gave us the keys. She waved the resort fees as a goodwill gesture. She was great. The room however was rushed cleaned and there was still cleaning products in the bathroom. Our luggage never arrived to the room and i had to go find it on a cart in a hall of the lobby and carrying it up to the second floor myself. The next morning when i went to the valet to get my car they couldn’t fund it. I had to find it myself in lot way behind the resort. I have to say the kid at the valet seemed genuinely concerned and apologized profusely. When finally checking out, the resort fees were still on The folio. I went to the front desk to rectify the situation and although the kid at the desk took off the charges with no argument, he barely spoke to me, didn't apologize, say thank you , nothing. I had to remind him that he’s working the fron desk of a famous resort and should show some evidence of a personality. I must be fair, the vast majority of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, (john the bartender at the Marsh is great)and the property is beautiful. Its too bad that they hire young inexperienced kids. As one staffer said to me in reference to the debacle at checkin; “it was amateur hour last night”. I have to agree.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were able to hike on some of the trails going up Equinox Mountain and enjoyed the experience. The workout room is really good, the bar has great drinks and staff, the food is excellent, beds are comfortable. All around, a great visit to this iconic and historic hotel. A 7:30 AM fire alarm caused by a bathroom water overflow triggering a lower floor smoke detector was handled well with a smooth evacuation from multiple exit stairwells. Automatic fire doors closed, which lowered any threat of smoke inhalation.
Cons: I’m pretty good at spotting faults and I don’t have much to pick on here. This was an uncommonly positive experience. I encourage them to put in some Tesla 60-80 amp chargers to better service electric vehicles. I drive a Tesla and there is only one slow charge connection that would be overwhelmed by more than one vehicle in need of charging.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old inn. Beautiful condition. Close to many activities.
Cons: The resort fee!! The over priced mediocre food We could hear voices in other rooms.
7.0 Good

1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing, the manager should not be in the service business
Cons: Everything, specially the manager who is full of it. He should not be in the service business... where courtesy is an essential requirement of the husiness.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: One of the biggest motels rooms, I ever had.
2.9 Mediocre
Pros: The location
Cons: Very run down. Staff was rude when notified about very loud people in room next to us. Beds very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The manager was the rudest person ever, the room smelled like mildew and mold, the worst motel ever! The manager was so ignorant and rude, I mentioned the mold and he said it didn't smell like that and to open the window and I wasn't getting my money back! How unprofessional!

7.4 Good
Pros: We were in the area to visit family, and it happened to be during the horse show, so prices at every other hotel/motel were hiked. This was a reasonable price and it turned out, comfortable accommodations. The rooms are dated, but our room was clean enough and pet-allergen free enough to accommodate my allergies. We requested a room where pets are not allowed. The beds were fine, the bath and room layout were excellent. We had a double vanity separate from the toilet/bath and curtained off from the sleeping area.
Cons: The pool was closed while we were there. It was hot and muggy and would have been nice. There was torrential rain one night and the parking lot was flooded. The rooms never seem endangered and the lot was cleared of floodwater within a few hours, but it was dramatic at the time. I was also concerned that there was no dead-bolt on the door. It is rural Vermont, and they seem to take these things more casually. We felt very safe otherwise.
5.4 Okay
Cons: Pretty rundown facility.
4.8 Okay
Cons: Beds were terrible. Decor and facilities were appallingly out of date. The breakfast buffet had a bag of white bread & cold cereal, a bowl of unappealing fruit, and little else to tempt you to stay. Sitting in a room last furnished in 1982 with green astroturf also did not appeal.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We booked one night and ended up extending for 2. The price was great! the room was large, the motel was as expected for it's category. we found the room and bathroom clean and had not concerns related to that. Staff was friendly and responsive. Location is just a few minutes drive to the restaurants in Manchester.
