10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luis is an excellent host, and couldn’t be more helpful & friendly. The Pension is in a great central location, with superb facilities. Very modern, spacious apartment, fully equipped. Could not recommend highly enough in this wonderful city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location! Less than 10 minute walk to the beach and very central to everything else. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and it was just a really cozy place to stay. We had a room with private bathroom and it was perfect. We also really appreciated having beach towels, umbrella and a small supply of plates/cups/cutlery to have light meals in our room. Was also very quiet at night. Loved this tiny, family run guesthouse!
Cons: Nothing! Price was a bit high, but less than many places we looked at .Just a factor of being in San Sebastian in the summer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Facilities great and Luis couldn't have been more helpful
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attention to detail outstanding. The little things make a big difference e.g free use of parasols beach towels. Complimentary coffee and tea. Place is spotless and very short walk to beach.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing, beautiful, boutique hotel in great location right in the old town. Easy to walk anywhere from. Staff was very helpful and friendly with all requests. Great rooftop patio. Room was even nicer in person. Would definitely return!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was amazing. Room was large, and bathroom beautiful
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location near the beach is great!!!
Cons: The price of the room was expensive.
5.8 Okay
Pros: great location, poor service. It was a landmark holiday for me and my partner and we were told we would be "taken care of" by email, but we got nothing bar a tiny box of chocolates and a bottle of apple juice. I had requested a sea view room weeks in advance when I booked, and when they emailed to confirm that I would be "taken care of" they didn't bother to tell me that wasn't possible even though they clearly will have known. It really soured our whole experience as we ended up paying premium rates for an average room.
Cons: See above!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great hotel was modern and clean
Cons: Laundry service was poor
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel. Superb location and brilliant location for the old town and views across the bay. Roof top a special favourites
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and Friendly Service, spacious rooms (also cheaper categories), Unbeatable Terrace
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in the old city center and at the same time our room was with a sea view. Everything is very close. I would say, location is very good! Rooms were clean, staff polite and helpful. Breakfast is a bit weird. Quite some hot stuff can only be ordered by the card. It's still included in the price, but takes quite some time to get it ready. Like I was waiting for 15-20 minutes to get my bacon and sausages. Still, overall impression about the hotel is quite good. I would definitely stay here again when I visit this nice city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the most amazing hotels I have ever been to. Location was perfect, the terrace was amazing, the food was incredible. To travel with kids or just romantic it is the best hotel in San Sebastian by far. Love every minute of it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms as well as the public areas were beautiful.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and service
Cons: Room rate
8.3 Excellent
Pros: we liked the building, the décor, the service, the location above all, we liked the staff and the fact that they have been very helpful across the process. Before our stay, they were helpful in managing a change of room, in managing a change of dates, and during the stay in dealing/responding to some issues that we had with the room
Cons: too expensive even for such a luxury property and with some sound proofing issues in our room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was delicious.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location. Facilities like gym. Breakfast- rich
Cons: Staff at check in / checkout (not welcoming, couple of robotic questions but no actual interest ). Breakfast service - slow ( needed to ask repeatedly for the coffee while we gave up waiting for a pancake which never came)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A luxury hotel for a very special anniversary with my wife that I hoped would be very special. From the minute we arrived nothing was to much trouble. Would pay what we paid for that type of service and luxury
Cons: Nothing really
9.5 Excellent
Pros: everything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good location, short walking distance to the town centre and beaches. Pleasant surroundings for a walk as well. The restaurants and facilities are very nice too.
Cons: Not much really... I found having to use the card for lifts a little pointless given you can use the stairs. I didn't get a chance to visit the gym/spa.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: absolutely exceptional accommodation, friendly and helpful staff, parking in a safe place in front of the hotel, close to the center and the beach, perfect breakfast, quiet and elegant place for a romantic holiday.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s quiet here. They allow you to take bicycles for the day and night so if you want to go to dinner, you just bike to town. The rooms are super nice! So clean!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All major services and room facilities can be clearly rated as 5 stars
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The attention to detail, the immediate action upon request
Cons: The breakfast was standard, but the service was forgetful, waiting for your order that never came, had to reorder more than twice. I was assured that the management would improve based on my departure note
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were very kind. The room was old but clean.
Cons: The price
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, great breakfast, great shower. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, we took their bicycles with out any extra charge And using them made the way to old city much faster.
Cons: A bit far from the center, 20 minutes walk . We took their bicycles, but it was a bit difficult when it was raining.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute everything, the location away from the crazy busy beachfront and within walking distance. Our room was very comfortable, and clean, nice products in the bathroom. The staff were absolutely outstanding, extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast as well.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A gem of a hotel. Lovely grounds. Free parking. Exceeded expectations.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at Villa Soro for 4 nights. The main building is elegant with a very warm atmosphere. I had a corner room on the first floor of the newer building which had it owns semi-private outdoor space. Both were nice. The bedroom and bathroom were of good size and quite utilitarian. The newer house has no street noise, though the area is sufficiently quiet that I would be surprised if the original house is affected by traffic noise. The staff is very polite and helpful. I chose to stay at the Villa as I thought I might find interesting people with whom to talk. Breakfast seemed like an obvious time but the bar is actually pretty lively at night. My wish was fulfilled. Members of The Morgan Motor Club were there with their glorious convertibles (British racing green, of course) and there were 2 architects from Stockholm on their way to Bilbao.
Cons: My bathroom was not adequately cleaned. I suppose this was due to the maid believing that Americans only take showers. However, there were enough clues that I take baths. The tub wasn't cleaned (or not to my standards) and neither q-tips nor hand soap were replaced in a timely matter.. I found there was too much noise transmitted from the room or rooms above which may have been just the luck of the draw in whose overhead. Note that this really is a residential area and you will have a good 30 minute walk to the bus station or even most restaurants.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb place to stay and great location
Hotel Akelarre - San Sebastian - Bedroom
5
9.2 Excellent (542 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Akelarre in San Sebastian, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Concha Beach and Monte Urgull. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The view is amazing, staff, rooms and food all great.
Cons: The concierge weren't great at organising help around other restaurants. Do your own research and book other restaurants in advance, especially at the weekend
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is like a piece of art in itself. Every detail is attended to. The service is excellent, rooms are huge and very comfortable. The bed is one of the best I have slept in.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, serene, best breakfast in the world
Cons: No outdoor pool/lounge chairs
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is famous for its cuisine but it was the total experience that made it so appealing. The coastal location, the art,the architecture, the spa and massage and of course the food and wine.
Cons: It’s a little further from San Sebastián than we’d expected. Along a narrow windy road.
7.0 Good
Pros: The decoration and the architecture of the hotel.
Cons: The staff don’t seem to have any training or experience in how to provide a good or a luxury service. Doesn’t match with the price. It was raining the whole time and no one told me that there is a covered parking. Also I asked in one of the restaurants to make a small soup for my 7 months baby and this was extremely difficult and costed 15€! In the next day they tried to charge me the 15€ again for the same warmed soup, saying that they added 1 spoon more, of the same baby soup that they had already charged me the day before...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location, the rooms, excellent service, love the cocktail cabin!
Cons: Food in 2nd restaurant & snacks overpriced based on portions/presentation. Lack of umbrellas in public areas available all day for hotel guests. We did not rate Akelarre restaurant with 3 stars compared to others we have eaten in. Service although efficient was very mechanical lacked the ambiance & friendly staff. Although the food was technically outstanding it lacked subtlety and range of ingredients. The hotel runs around the food experience rather than the hotel experience
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel staff were lovely from the second we arrived. Its a great quiet location and very relaxing. Although I believe the hotel was fairly well booked its the sort of place you feel there is only a few people about.
Cons: I hate to say it but our main restaurant experience was very disappointing. It may be 3 Michelin star food but its not 3 star customer service in my view. The restaurant has a great view unless you are seated with your back to it on a table for 2. That's a school boy error! Also our table was so close to a "waiters station" we could touch it. When he was there he virtually brushed past us. then he gave us a demonstration of how to clean cutlery and throw them into the drawer creating as much noise as possible! When they showed us to our table I politely complained about its position and asked to sit next to my wife rather than opposite. That was a no! following the cutlery demonstration I WAS NOT SITTING HERE ANY LONGER. I went to find the manager who offered us a table for 8 made up for 2. We took it to make the best of our Anniversary meal. I ordered a bottle of wine to relax the situation. We then ordered our set menu. We were disappointed there was no mention of wine pairing. The food was fantastic. Just as you thought you couldn't eat another thing something arrived and it was so easy to eat it! As we progressed through our courses we realised other people had different wine with the course. I asked where that was on the menu as I couldn't believe I had missed it. I was told it was on the wine list? It was a bit late but the Sommelier saved the day with some excellent desert wine. The manager never came to see us. No apology, Nothing for a hotel guest celebrating their Wedding Anniversary that had booked 6 months in advance. The second night we went into the "lower" restaurant. BRILLIANT! Lovely meal, lovely staff, lovely evening! Beware the 3 star restaurant where it seems the food is more important than the people eating and paying for it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: View from the rooms and the terrace is exceptional. A better place for a sunset drink or breakfast (or anytime of day!) would be very hard to find. Staff absolutely superb. Only had breakfast in the hotel but couldn't fault it. A fabulous hotel.
Cons: Very minor but neither the sauna and steam room were anywhere near hot enough. One or two more shades needed as the terrace is popular late afternoon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: An extremely thoughtful renovation, meaning we were never disturbed or inconvenienced by things which plague even the best hotels (noise from rooms/guests, lack of sockets, retrieving the car, unreliable WiFi, etc.). Staff were excellent and everything was just so!
Cons: In room dining is unimaginative compared to the quality of the other restaurants at the property.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were brilliant, ensuring that we had all the support, recommendations and tips we needed to have a beautiful and fun stay in San Sebastián. The rooms were clean, well furnished and very comfortable. They were well kept and if you so choose, they service the room everyday brilliantly. The communal coffee and tea that is available 24/7 was a good touch, something that we really used often. The quality was also great. The location is unbeatable. Close to town, close to the beach, close to everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and excellent facilities. We liked the free soft drinks/water in the mini bar.
Cons: Nothing! Everything was great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the Old town of San Sebastian. The pension is situated on one floor of an older building. Well refurbished! Rooms with balcony are comfortable and spacy. Homefeeling, thanks to coffee facilities for the guests, welcoming and personal approach of the staff. Reception: only available during daytime, but card-key makes entering and leaving easy at all times.
Cons: In the whole old town of San Sebastian there is some noise in the streets at night. Not from cars (esp. not in this hotel, as it is situated on a square where cars are not allowed), but with good weather there is quite some people in the streets and later you can hear the streetcleaning. The positive side is the liveliness of the town and the clean streets, so no complaint.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great Pension. In the old part of town, in amongst the restaurants and cafes. Close to the waterfront. Easy 20minute walk to the station. Close to great shopping. Fabulous staff - helpful, friendly and fun. Excellent service. Exceptionally clean. Balcony opened onto a lively boulevard, teeming with life.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right next to the old town. 1-2 mins walk to bars and pintxos. Roberto was super helpful to give us recommendations of his favorite bars to visit. The interior of the pension is quite new and modern. The rooms are a good size for a one night stay. Would definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Quality of apartment
Cons: Check in experience. Late check in didnt work

Pros: Excellent location and friendly staff. Located in city center and the hotel was very clean. Staff very professional and helpful

10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: - absolutely quiet, still close to the centre and shopping streets - very friendly and helpful staff

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous authentic pension in the perfect old town location. Such warm, helpful and accommodating hosts. A lot of care goes into looking after this accommodation and a lot of pride in running it safely and knowledgeably. Was lucky enough to have the large room with a window overlooking the main strip right to the water (great security shutters at night that block out majority sound). Of my month travelling Spain this was an absolute highlight. Will definitely come back one day, hopefully often!
Cons: Can’t self-control the air conditioning, but it was managed well so not an issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, within walking distance of La Concha beach, the pintxos bars, shopping and the major sites. Teresa, the owner was very helpful.
Cons: It was not easy to find the property but I called Teresa and she came to pick me up. Guests should be advised at least how to find the hotel or the buildings that are close to it.
5.5 Okay
Cons: The room was really small. The window overlooked an encaged and gloomy inner dark corridor. It gave us a claustrophobic fit in the night. It was not possible to control the air conditioning but when in the middle of the night we phoned the owner to ask for help because we were freezing they turned it off for us.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, just down the street from the beach and next to all the bars and restaurants. Very clean, very comfortable bed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect and although very central not noisy when you closed the window. Very clean and comfort feeling in the room!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, friendly staff, great coffee area, charming, albeit small, room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic, air conditioning worked really well, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms always kept clean, very quiet at night time despite being near busy place, nice touch that the drinks in the mini bar are complimentary. Lovely pillows.
Cons: Bed was a tad hard for my liking but that is personal preference. Would have liked some diet drinks in the fridge as one of the party is diabetic. Apart from that, fantastic.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, excellent air conditioning. Free Lavazza coffee machine. Free soft drinks and water in the mini bar. Impressive operation in a converted flat straddling the casco viejo and the Belle Epoque ensanche.
Cons: The toilet ran and they did not manage to fix it during my stay. A bit of noise from doors closing in the hallway but generally the room was quiet. The price seemed high to me by Spanish standards, but it was the best I could find in relatively-pricey San Sebastian...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic. Vehicle access to the property but on edge of old town. A few steps to the hub of San Sebastián. Also train station across the road.
Cons: The room is well fitted, but tight on space for suitcases. If you travel light then no problem.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent central location, near bus and train stations.
Cons: Sound proofing between rooms was only fair. . Excellent sound proofing with the windows to the exterior.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very central location , friendly staff and very clean . Easy to find
Cons: Only drawback was being easily able to hear people going in and out with their suitcases. Didn’t really bother us but could be an issue for some people
8.8 Excellent
Pros: LOCATION!!! Superb!! Room was very clean with beautiful balcony view. Small but we spent little time there. Complimentary coffee, water and tea/cola were a nice touch. Front desk was very polite and helpful. Overall very nice!
Cons: Small room with very little space to move. No Kleenex - hard to come by in Europe I believe- and no bathroom amenities- ie lotions. Beds not the most comfortable but we’re ok. Very basic especially for the price but the location and cleanliness made up for it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host was very helpful, he gave us great recommendations. The room was spacious. We were given complimentary drinks everyday. The location was perfect! Very central. The price, all of it was good and we really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: The bathroom was very clean and we were given plenty of towels, however the shower door or drain maybe needs a look as there was always quite a bit of water on the floor after use. That’s all, loved everything else!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Hotel on the promenade at La Concha Beach. Our corner suite room was very luxurious with a partial sea view. Enjoyed every minute of our visit and will certainly be back to stay at Hotel Londres
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The awesome location. Rooms with a view of La Concha Beach are well and truly worth the extra. Close to everything including supermarket and of course the old town where you can experience the best food in the world.

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Wonderful !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in the very heart of the embankment, just hundred meters from old town. The view from rooms with sea view is stunning. The stuff was friendly and agreed to upgrade the room because of municipal construction works noise at another side of the building.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was fantastic, very close to old town and great view of the ocean.
Cons: There was construction next door and in front of the hotel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent and the bed was massive. The breakfast was good although the dining room does get busy.
Cons: We had paid for a room with a balcony but due to construction work going on outside we were not able to use it. I appreciate that it wasn’t work being carried out by the hotel but they must have been made aware it was happening well in advance (it was the construction of a new subway so not insignificant). Not only was it not mentioned when we checked in but we were not even given the chance to upgrade. Not only that I had received an email from them a few days earlier asking if I needed anything and had replied asking them about an upgrade to a sea view and they had not even bothered to respond. For a little over 1000 euros for 3 days I expected better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view over the bay from the balcony windows. The room was of a generous size and the 5th floor was quiet.. The staff were also very helpful.
Cons: There wasn't anything we didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, location, staff
Cons: Price of parking and breakfast

Cons: Storage and comfort very limited ( no chairs, not enough shelves or brackets in both bedroom and shower room. Hard to ensure comfortable atmosphere when in closed room without window.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location. Room was quite small and had no window but was a very comfortable stay. Room was of a decent standard and clean and tidy.
Cons: A window and a few extra items e.g. wine glasses and an iron etc in the room would have been good, however this was all available from the front desk on request.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean and reasonably modern, nice location and friendly staff
Cons: Rooms were small, air conditioner pump makes noise all night which we knew from other reviews - take earplugs
7.5 Good
Pros: It was very modern and tasteful and spotlessly clean and the towels were changed regularly and the beds were very comfortable - not hard (OR soft!) and the location was superb!
Cons: The room was far too small and we kept banging our toes on the bed legs - very painful! The shower room was far too small - even the shower mat had to be folded in half in order to open the door and the basin was tiny. There were also no hooks (or indeed any room to fit hooks anywhere) in the shower room to hang up damp clothes, if you wanted to rinse a bikini etc.! There was also no where to sit, except on the bed (and no lounge area anywhere else).
5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were very attentive and accommodating.
Cons: The rooms (including the bathrooms) are tiny with hardly any space to put down your bags. There is minimal ventilation in the rooms. The rooms are loud you can hear all the rooms around you and the hallway. It is basically a hostel room at hotel prices.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, clean
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was cutely styled like IKEA. The woman working the front desk was very nice and informative! There was an espresso machine free, and the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Walk to shopping, beach, and restaurants.
Cons: The room was sooooo small! It was just enough space for a twin bed and to open the door for the bathroom. No windows or anything.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: A great terrace with a magical view of the mountains. Modern and new with lots of nice details. Parking at your doorstep and good location for getting in and out of San Sebastian. Really easy to get to the city by bus. Nice and helpful staff.
Cons: Not an easy kitchen to cook anything but the most basic things. Air condition not really doing anything except making noise, and no insect nets made it difficult to have open doors and windows at night. Poor wifi. An extremely noisy neighbour with chickens, goats, dogs, machines etc.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: good location away from the centre and friendly staff.
Cons: n/a
9.3 Excellent

Pros: Spotlessly clean modern accommodation on outskirts of San Sebastián.
Cons: A little too far from centre . A car is essential.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice modern design, really nice views
Cons: We booked for 6 people, when we arrived we were told it was a booking of 4 and had to pay €40 a night for a pull out bed that was already in the lounge and if we wanted another bed it was €10 per night. A big surprise of over € 150

Pros: The breakfast was super! You get it directly to your door. Super luxury!
Cons: When everyone wants to use the bathroom at the same time..
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay, the staff were really helpful and had great info on places to eat and visit. The rooms are quirky, clean and very comfortable. We had the master suite which had a view to die for. The breakfast was fresh and healthy and brought to your room each morning. Would highly recommend Far Out Inn. Couldn’t ask for more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing view and walking distance to the beach and Old Town. Breakfast delivered to our room was a real treat!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in room 1 - the view from the terrace was absolutely great, it's really enjoyable to be there. The breakfast exceeded expectations - it's served in the room and is delicious, highly recommend! Despite the name, the hotel isn't that far from the old town - it's a very pleasant 15-20 minute walk along the beach promenade. Also the location is great for going to the Concha beach - it's just 5 minutes away from the part of the beach that is further away from the town centre and is usually less crowded. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: We had a good experience. The terrace is shared, so you probably should keep that in mind. Also the price is quite steep for a "bed and breakfast", but overall I'd say the quality is much better than just a "bed and breakfast" (as I mentioned before the breakfast is definitely a reason to visit this place!)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views and a great breakfast included.
Cons: Price a little high.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Efficiently run property. Great view of the whole beach front. Very good views and had breakfast on the balcony overlooking the ocean
Cons: Walking back to the property at night up the steep steps from the beachfront may be challenging due to security concerns
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views and unique room decor! Shared bathroom didn't end up to be a nuisance like I thought it might be and everything was clean and comfortable. We really liked the breakfast in our room!
Cons: Hard to communicate without an international plan on my cell phone (I was relying on WiFi) so I got charged for a late check-in around 8pm that I didn't know to anticipate.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Views from the balcony were incredible. Very unique apartments. Very helpful staff and awesome breakfast that you could take in bed or on the beautiful terrace.
Cons: Shared bathroom made things a little tricky but we managed and I would just stay in a room with a private bathroom if I visit again in the future.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Fantastic views overlooking the beach and the city. Really friendly staff and a delicious complimentary breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to the beach. Room was clean and breakfast in our room was excellent. Kati was very friendly and responsive to our questions/needs. Turned out she was from the same area as us in the USA.
Cons: There wasn't any air conditioning in the building. A few of the rooms had beach views with doors you could open for the view or fresh air. Our room had one window that only opened about six inches not allowing much air in. The provided electric fan was a lifesaver.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, great room very very bright and clean. Shared bathrooms not a problem at all and kept spotless Jonathan was a great host and very helpful I would very much recommend Pension Larrea as a 10/10 and definitely stay there again
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Surrounded by bars & restaurants. Friendly staff and we were able to leave our suitcases there when we arrived early. The room was clean and quiet. We had a shared bathroom that were also very clean and we never had to queue for it. Overall a great stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the clean facilities.
Cons: Nothing it was great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: If you like the nightlife, this is it. In the middle of everything, super nice.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I was a bit worrying about shared bathroom. No worries!two bathrooms were always so clean! And prepared for needs! Great location! Hotel manager is nice and kind!
Cons: I thought I Requested Twin room(2 beddedroom) but it wasn’t that kind of “twin room”. Actually, it was just a my mistake.
7.5 Good
Cons: Our room was overlooking the street and it was very noisy for the whole night, we were not able to sleep.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and a location truly in the heart of old town......... a very positive experience overall. Was really happy with every aspect of it.
Cons: This is completely personal preference, but in the heigh of tourist season on the weekends be aware that you are truly in the thick of the action and people will be loud until the wee hours of the morning. That may be absolutely fine with you.... you may be the loudest one of all, of course! But it's worth knowing that going in. It's in the center of the party.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: If you want to be in the thick of the San Sebastian nightlife, this is for you. Don't stay here if you want peace and quiet! Comfortable, basic rooms
Cons: A common area or reception lounge would have been great.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very comfy bed, shared bathroom nice and clean, friendly host
Cons: the only thing is that you may need to sleep with the window closed if you have a room facing the street as very busy at night. But that’s normal in the city center :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location in the heart of town. It’s quite loud because of this, but nothing some earplugs can’t fix. Worth it though, with both nearby beaches a ten minute walk away. The owner was very helpful; the one time we needed assistance he responded immediately. The shared bathrooms were really clean.
Cons: It was very warm in the room. There was a fan but no air conditioning, and opening the windows would let the noise from the street in.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location and super clean! Love the great energy in all the small rooms :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess was very friendly & helpful.
Cons: Could be noisy but Windows kept out most of the noise

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location for old town and sights. Quiet street (car traffic limited many hours of the day). The hotel is modern and good looking. Breakfast was very goodl
Cons: Small rooms, but well-organized and complete.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Clean room and spaces.
Cons: The taste of the hotel is very particular. No US plug. So if you bring a shaver, you are in trouble. The hotel directory in the room was not coherent. It was written the gym was openned untill 10pm and when you arrive their, it was open only untill 9 pm. The room door didn’t close totally so I had to make sure it would close behind me. In order to access to the wifi, I had to proceed to certain pages that the receptionist didn’t give at check-in. NO COMPLIMENTARY WATER. I’ve been to many other places with better amenities and at least a welcoming water.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hotel was clean and presentable and the reception and cafe bar staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed an evening in the cafe bar.
Cons: The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. We were woken early both mornings by the bin men emptying bins outside. The shower of the next door room was very noisy in our room (Michael Caine) and impossible to sleep through. The food in the main restaurant was poor. We were unable to put drinks bought at the cocktail bar on to our bill and the Nespresso martini was average.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Huge room. Catherine Deneuve
Cons: The view
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location. Parking. Comfort. Friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful and professional staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Coherently designed. Rooms were comfortable (including the bed). Staff were pleasant. Good cafe for breakfast. Near the train station for Hendaye.
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable and the wheelchair accessible bathroom was super! The location was great as it was an easy 20 minute walk to the beach and town. Or a bus journey from right outside the hotel. Easy access to the river and central bus station as well. Breakfast was good however not worth the money as the are great coffee shops very close by. All in all a great stay. We would come again.
Cons: We stayed in a wheelchair accessible room which was pretty good. However I would suggest a slightly better layout to give a wheelchair user better movement around the room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location - a short walk from centre but in a neighbourhood with small shops which were great value The staff were friendly and welcoming - special mention to Sandra on reception Great transport links Clean modern rooms Nespresso machine luckily I had pods but they provided some Mini bar was really cheap compared to a lot of hotels Secure underground parking which cost extra but was perfect as we had a car full of items from a wedding
Cons: I thought it was all great - I’d certainly return
5.5 Okay
Pros: House keeper was very good.
Cons: Noisy as we were next to the lift The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. 20-25 minute walk to the beach etc. Parking over priced and really should be free as the hotel price isn’t cheap.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. The room had everything we needed, was spotless and comfortable and was in a perfect location.
Cons: There was nothing toa perfect badrd not like.
9.1 Excellent

A Room In The City - San Sebastian - Building

8.7 Excellent (3,952 reviews)

With a stay at A Room in the City in San Sebastian (San Sebastian Centro), you'll be a 5-minute walk from Concha Beach and 13 minutes by foot from Monte Urgull. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a library.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was fine
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Bathroom wasn’t so clean
7.5 Good
Pros: Modern fitted room with clean beds and living areas.
Cons: Dark room. Doors which slam shut (ridiculous when people are trying to sleep). Not enough toilets.
6.3 Good
Pros: PROS good location, walking distance from bus terminal, 20 mins walking to all the attractions, La Concha beach just around the corner. Bed units excellent (very comfortable bed, usb and power slots, personal light, curtains). Very clean bathrooms!! There is a nice garden with a external bar (closes at 23:00)
Cons: CONS too expensive for what it offers! Problems with locker keys, heavy doors that kept on slamming as people enter/exit. Not very good for solo travelers because the common areas are far away: living room in the basement always empty, small kitchen also in the basement with microwaves, the terrace is nice but at 20:00 it closes (strange in summertime) if there are no events.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Central location, clean and good shared bathroom facilities.
Cons: Nothing i could complain about
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything was outdated, almost impossible to unlock room door and unfriendly staffs. In fact, haven't seen anyone smiled during my stay. Would not recommend to anyone.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, common bar/garden/roof terrace
Cons: Too much noise during the night when you have a room at the street side.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostel staff were friendly and informative. The facilities were clean and spacious. Super easy check in process and in the best location!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, staff is friendly, the patio has good drink and breakfast options. The lockers in the rooms are secure. They also have rooms where you could relax, work or study which is a huge plus for me.
Cons: The room had no AC and no fan, it definitely wasn't worth the cost per night. The rooftop doesn't have much of a view which is probably why it so empty (and there's no place up there to get food or drinks).
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, comfortable beds
Cons: No AC, not a very usable kitchen (only microwaves) no cereals or bread. The shower heads are not adjustable and pubs button so can be hard to actually get under the water as the head is so close to the wall. Not much atmosphere at all for meeting ppl. For the amount we paid, would have a little better in the kitchen and AC
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location was about the only good thing this hostel had to offer. The bar attached to the hostel was also good but it closed early every night so that was not great.
Cons: I booked the shared room that had the beds with curtains for privacy because that's what was shown on the example picture on the booking page. However, when my friend and I got there, we were told that our room was not one of the nice ones even though thats what was shown to us originally. Very misleading. When my friend and I arrived, there were no blankets on our bed and there was only one plug available for the two of us to share. I asked for a power strip and they did not want to give me one and the staff wasn't helpful at all with solving these issues. Our key also stopped working half way through our stay and the lady at the front desk was very rude when we asked for our key to be fixed. The service overall was very bad. My friend and I also stood at the front desk to check in and we ended up waiting for about 20 minutes while the workers were just chatting with each other. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone, it was a big let down.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice hotel and very clean, also bar was great and food in restaurant lovely
Cons: Safe in room didnt work and complained but never got sorted, plugs in both our rooms didnt work and when you are on holiday of 8 days you need more than 1 shelf and 6 hangers to store you clothes and had to live out off our suitcases.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very good restaurant for finner- Nice staff and value for money.
Cons: Location.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast and nice terrace with jacuzzi
Cons: the double bed could be bigger
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff was super friendly, and gave us a lot of information about the places to see, transport to get there, and restaurants and pintxos bars. Breakfast was lovely, very confortable beds, drinkable water provided for free (at least on the floor we were staying).
Cons: Could be cleaner - the bedding and the curtains were not very clean.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, Design of hotel
Cons: There was no extractor fan in the bathroom
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. It had a great range of fruit and cheeses. The selection of breads was lovely. The choice of coffees from the well placed coffee machines was great.
Cons: We found no fault during our visit.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Huge room.
Cons: Not pretty location and a Mike to the old town. Also, extortionate charge for bikes. Should be free for residents
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: From the moment of our arrival to leaving staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was great: beautiful, with all amenities needed, good bed and pillows and great shower. Breakfast was good value with a wide range of food and as much coffee etc as you wanted. The restaurant and bar are excellent: both value for money, being cheaper than many of the bars and restaurants in town, and the quality. The menu in the evenings had a good selection and each thing we ordered was delicious and cooked to a high standard. Again the restaurant staff couldn’t have been more delightful. The hotel policy of inclusion is excellent and the staff mentoring for vulnerable staff appeared to be excellent and have excellent results. The jacuzzi on the rooftop was great and we wish we had had more time to use it as there were plenty of sunbeds and chairs to catch the sun. Towels and water are included there for free.
Cons: The only thing which could have been improved were the lifts. Parking In the basement meant that we went down to the car daily several times and each time the lift always stopped on the ground floor for no reason.

7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly check in staff and bar staff. Good location. Good interconnecting rooms.
Cons: Very poor cleaning, even after reporting twice room cleanliness didn't improve. Very expensive breakfast. Over zealous pool attendant ruined fun in the pool - we weren't being overly silly or dangerous - other guests had same experience. For cost of stay, we were disappointed in the service, food and room cleanliness. Wouldn't stay again.

5.5 Okay
Pros: The room and the balcony that our room had and near a bus stop
Cons: Noisy as next to the main road, breakfast was basic and sometimes you had to ask for eggs etc, the outside eating area needs a good clean (paving as was very discoloured) and had litter etc left there for the duration of our stay. The bar at night time was never really clean and the ambience was not good so not very welcoming and also in the evening the drinking water offered in the reception was always empty with used glasses left lying around.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very close to bus stop; safe and quiet
Cons: check-in took a while
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect accommodation for good price, helpful staff, I recommend!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Staff and comfort
Cons: Selection of hot food at breakfast. Sitting area very poor for holiday guests. This hotel only suitable for conferences
7.5 Good
Pros: Good service from staff
5.8 Okay
Pros: Clean
Cons: Breakfast buffet was pretty poor (some of things offered were not there and by the time I spent there nobody brought more) When we got the breakfast room there was only 1 waiter for all the room and kitchen. Later she had the help of another person, but anyway just 2 for more than 40 seats does not seem to be enough
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean room with spacious bathroom. The staff was nice and the location is quite convenient with buses to the city centre
Cons: The room card failed to work for a few times.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly, comfortable hotel
Cons: Had to pay for an extra room as hotel would not allow twin babies in cots with their parents in one room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very easy to park - free at the weekend. Lot’s of cafes nearby, and very easy to get into town on the bus, which stops outside.
