Cons: None
7.9 Good
Cons: The staff of the reception is not competent, they had a cahos. The hotel needs to be renovated, old fashion rooms. The rest of the staff, fantastic

Pros: It felt safe, clean, excellent service, great amenities, prime location by the Nile. Features “edge of the Nile” infinity pool, prime sunset, and romantic dinner spot. Service was impeccable and the staff so kind. Highly recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous, the spa is heavenly, the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was one of my favourite hotel breakfasts ever - local dishes, fresh fruit and local produce as well as the usual international eggs etc. I would love to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff went the extra mile for us every time
5.1 Okay
Cons: The room is not worth USD290. Comparable rooms were at USD105

Pros: The breakfast was lovely very nice, fantastic location.
Cons: nothing, everything was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and his family quickly make you feel at home. The room was nice and clean. Bed and facilities are very comfortable. Food in the restaurant is amazing, delicious and fresh. Sayed helped me to book tours to get to know the most important and beautiful things in Luxor at a good rate! This hotel is overall great, had a great experience and would stay here again! If you’re going to Luxor I would definitely recommend this place. Staff is very helpful and nice.
Cons: .
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean rooms, and quite spacious. Loved the location. Excellent WiFi.
Cons: If you book, and the owner wants payment in US dollars, then bring US dollars with you. The exchange rate he uses is significantly NOT in your favour. Don’t just pay what he says it is. For two nights he was wanting an extra £10 more than we should have been paying. I used currency converter to show him his conversion was incorrect. Next time I will just take dollars.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the place, Sayed, and his staff had many attentions for us. Sayed helped us organizing our transfer, took us by car to the nearby sites (under 40 degrees!) and provided good advices for the balloons, sites to visit... The room was spacious and clean (and made every day), bathroom with high water pressure in the shower (not common in Egypt!) The breakfast and dinner were very good, and served in the restaurant of the hotel. Wifi is pretty good too.
Cons: Nothing... As it was very hot (too hot for me I guess), I would have enjoyed a swimming pool for 1 hour!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the location, they are close to all the temples. his collaborators are very attentive, without leaving one out, and the owner of the hotel that was always available to give us an excellent service and that the stay was like being at home. Every space clean a feeling peacefully.
Cons: Everything was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Train and Plane Tickets for transport to other cities in Egypt were arranged through the hotel and hand delivered to me. Tours, Activities, Driver and Guide were arranged through hotel, and extremely convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Like the owner said we were not just clients but guests! Mister Sayed could arrange anything we needed : transportation, valuta change, bike rental, visits,... His hotel is very comfortable, clean and pleasant, the breakfast is wonderful and let you have a wunderful sightseeing without starving, and the diner is perfect. The place is very pleasant at the west of the west bank : peace, green and incredible sites within a bike distance
Cons: We missed a roof terrasse for our breakfast but ... it is in construction. So next time we come to Luxor we will enjoy it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing and friendly staff. Mr. Sayed is the perfect host and made sure that our stay was comfortable. The rooms are very clean and serviced daily. The chef prepares delicious and fresh food as per your choice. The property is in a great location, travelling to the necropolis in the West Bank was so easy for us. The rooftop offers amazing night sky and a great view. Would surely recommend.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room is so spacious and bathroom is clean. They changed the toiletries and towel everyday. The owner is so helpful for arranging the taxi to airport. He took us personally to the village and shops in particular. We bought some great authentic spices. He was so helpful to arrange the hot air balloon, but because of our tight schedule, we couldnt make it. We were only guests at that time, so we couldnt explore the facilities fully.
Cons: The hotel is in west bank and the west bank attractions are so close and easily accessible. Our own guide (booked by ourself through third party) tour started from west bank and finished in east bank. The taxi guy was not interested to return us back in west bank. The breakfast is average, only bread, jam, cheese and honey. May be because of we two only stayed in the hotel at that time. After stayed inside cities (Cairo and Aswan) this west bank looks so deserted.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Nile Compound. Choosing a guest house with a garden and a pool in a village was a great choice. Room and bathroom were very spacious on the ground floor. Breakfast was amazing and the staff was very nice. We also enjoyed a stroll in the village, people are very friendly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very kind and helpful. They let us stay longer on the check-out day, allowing us to take a shower and rest after many hours of walking on a hot day
Cons: The Nile Compound is not that close to the city center. We had to walk for 15-20 minutes each day to reach the ferry. Only there we had chances to find a boat or use the ferry to go to the other side of the city (East Bank) or catch a taxi to reach the Valley of the Kings etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location on the West Bank of Luxor, surrounded by green fields of Nile, with a fantastic view from the rooftop terrace on the Nile river! You will be woken up by the birds in the morning and have a tasty breakfast at the pool! We prolonged our stay here because it was so relaxing. The water in the pool is constantly filtered and there a lot of sunbeds to relax. The staff is very discrete and polite. We also asked for late check out which we got for free and we really appreciate it. The water in shower is really hot, the room is super clean, fresh towels provided and WiFi is working perfectly in the room. In a nutshell, a small paradise outside of the crowded city center. Ideal for nature lovers!
Cons: If you don’t mind getting on the other bank of the river by a cheap (5 EGP) and fast (5 min) ferry and taking a short tuktuk or taxi ride (10-20 EGP) to get to the hotel in order to enjoy this splendid scenery, listen to the birds, watching the Nile river from the rooftop terrace - it is the best accomodation you could dream of!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast!!! Quiet, authentic neighborhood Very clean room Comfortable bed Friendly staff Amazing view from roof top Electric kettle in the room
Cons: No soap in the bathroom Instant coffee for breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owner, nice room, idyllic location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great view, kind and helpfull staf, had a nice dinner, breakfast was great. You can also book tours from this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In these faster days, when you are travelling in a warm country as Egypt and the sun touch your body and give you so much energy, the best way to put it in equilibrium is to arrive to Compound Hotel in the West Bank in Luxor. They have a paradise in the middle of the history of Egypt, it’s a kind of heaven, an Oasis that it’s surrounding by green trees and beautiful Bugambilias, and the shadow touch you as the seda when you return of the adventures. Our room was perfect, with a unforgettable view of the Nile and its palms, a drawing of an artist. The space of the room is big enough that you are not worry if the faraones has something big, you have already. And the food that they can prepare for you, leave all the others restaurants out of the game. Charming, gently, smiling people are waiting for you, and the swimming pool is a cold cloud in the middle of the sun lands.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: thanks to the manager’s great advice, we had the opportunity to spend great time in Louxor end the Nile Valley...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect!! The people, the bedroom, the food, the pool and the area. 100.000% recomended.

Pros: People are very nice. I liked the pool. Breakfast is good

5.4 Okay
Pros: There are nice views from the rooftop, the room and bed size were good, and the food was delicious. Staff were friendly when we spoke. The driver to and from the airport (Ahmed?) was fun and very friendly.
Cons: One of the pillow cases on my bed had some weird brown stains, and also the toilet bowl was quite dirty. Maybe it was just my room, but the AC unit had trouble to keep the room cool even at full power on a cold setting, it was still pretty hot in the room and I was sweating. I even left the AC on all night and all day in hopes that I would return to a cool room after exploring Luxor, but it was still quite hot. Maybe it is because it is so hot outside in the summer though? Often, when I would go down to the reception area, the staff were lying down on the sofa sleeping, and i felt a little uncomfortable if I needed something. When I checked in, I spoke about how I would need a drop off at the airport, and we discussed times and would leave at 7am, so have breakfast at 6:30am. On the check out day, I went to the rooftop for breakfast, but nobody was there, so I went downstairs and they were sleeping on the sofa. I asked about breakfast, and they told me ok and to wait on the rooftop, so I did this, but nobody came for 10 minutes, and then they told me that they don’t have anything for breakfast because it’s a festival; I would have expected they get some foods the day before to serve for breakfast? They suggested I could get some breakfast on the drive to the airport, but the places were closed because of the festival; poor preparation. It would also have been nice if the hotel would have provided a towel etc for taking a shower, but there were no towels. I was not provided with the WiFi password at any point either. One extra thing- not really a bad thing but more of a suggestion- when serving the breakfast or dinner, please put the cutlery separately on the table. During my dinner, it took me a long time to realise that the cutlery was under the bread! Until then, I had been trying to eat everything by picking it up with the bread, as I was not sure whether this is normal way of eating in Egypt, and I could not see the staff at the rooftop; maybe he went somewhere?

Pros: the staff was good and very welcoming
Cons: the bathroom was small
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly family run business. Made to feel very welcome and offered bespoke meals and outings, even joining the owner to a local cafe by the Nile. Stunning views from the colourful roof terrace and the feel of an authentic local area, whilst being a short walk from the Nile and various shops. Right next to the riding stables for anyone into riding or watching horses from the roof. Car hire organised at short notice and reasonable rates. Luxor is a magical place with so much to see. As a coeliac the traditional meals were not suitable but simple foods were cooked at my request.
Cons: Beds could be a little firmer for my taste and the bedroom aircon was a louder model, despite being very effective. We had earplugs and so were totally fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing in general was fantastic, owner Nasser and his team of people were more than l espected, great job, thanks guys. Pedro Blanco
10.0 Excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel, really true to the pictures. The exteriors and shared spaces are beautiful, and the rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable. It is magnificent for the price. It is West Bank so things are sleepy and dusty, and the evenings are full of braying donkeys (and no traffic noise). If this is your speed you should 100% be staying here. - good hot water/showers - strong wifi - easy walk to ferry and shops - close to stables - quick laundry turn around - strong aircon, nice cool tile throughout
Cons: A little dusty on roof - but hard to avoid with open spaces and dirt roads. Certainly forgivable!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really good in Al Hambra Hotel. The room was clean and had towels, fridge, air conditioner, and balcony. The staff ware really friendly and helpful with us every time. They have different kind of tours if you need it. Also they gave us the room before the check in hour so that was really good for us! We came here because a friend recommended us this hotel. We are so happy and we can recommend you this Hotel for your next holiday in Luxor!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very little activity there. There wasn't much infication anything was going on there. The location is ok but not conducive to travelers. But even so overall everything was good
Cons: The location. And it was a little too quiet. You didn't know if anything was open or not.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: There were lots of mosquitoes
5.0 Okay
Pros: Clean and frindly staff . Comfort for hot air balloon and the west bank
Cons: Easy access by ferry rather than by the road as you have to drive all the way to the end of tbe city to cross the bridge
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel manager Mohamed Ali and his whole team is extremely kind, they take very good care of the well being of every guest. He is very knowledgeable about everything regarding travelling in Egypt and especially Luxor. Let him recommend you local restaurants and give you travel advice. The hotel is has a nice atmosphere and looks romantic as you can see on the pictures. The courtyard looks very oriental. In my opinion it's very good value for money staying in the Al Hambra Hotel. It's located on the west bank where a lot of the mayor sights are in Luxor, like the Valley of the Kings and Queens etc. Have the breakfast in the hotel, they mix some local and some western dishes, it's very delicious and cheap. Thank you very much and see you next time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was really nice, trying honestly to help you and making you feel welcome, rare thing in Egypt... No pushing to book tours, etc.. The room and the toilet very clean , definitely good value for the money!
Cons: Nothing really
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a very beautiful and clean place it’s the best in that area although the area isn’t so good but the place itself was really good and the owner was always helpful he could help us in every and each thing so that we don’t get fooled I loved the place and my stay there ❤️
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to the ferry so one can easilyfey to the east bank, while still being away from the noise and traffic from the center. Very good breakfast also.

7.9 Good
Pros: Staff are very kind. The room is clean. There are many activities that I can enjoy.
Cons: The reception is always busy in the morning. So, when I asked a question, the reception let me wait 30min to get information.
7.9 Good
Pros: Perfect place to relax
Cons: Few staff members and took 3 calls and 1.5 hours to fix tv,the fact that they treat Egyptians in an awful different way is just disgusting
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was fantastic with nice few
Cons: The stuff are not good and using us For example they not going to clean the room till you tell them because they looking for Money to get from you after that In easy way they are cheating you
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Staff. Variety of food. Good ambience. In overall this is as best as it gets in Egypt. Definitely would recommend this place if you’re passing by Luxor.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: the place was lovely- clean, manicured. super adorable cats all over the place :) the food was amazing- the buffet breakfast and dinner were great. everyone working there was very kind and considerate.
Cons: two things i did not like at all 1) they spray some kind of toxic fumes every night to kill mosquitoes. it's horrible- when it gets sprayed a huge cloud overtakes the entire place and takes a good 20 minutes to settle. we would go in our room and put the towel on the floor to try to keep it out of our room but it would seep into the cracks. this is horrible and i wish they would not do it 2) the internet connection there was not good at all. we got it sometimes- but it was not reliable enough for anyone who has regular work to do that needs reliable internet.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A friendly oasis. The breakfast buffet is excellent with an abundance of choice. During the day or evening you can sit, eat, drink, by the pool, in the garden, on the roof, or in the restaurant or the bar. It's a quick walk to a plethora of boats, taxis, tuk-tuks and private cars, as well as the ferry across the river. It's easy to hire a driver for the day or just one way. Take a boat to Karnak, the museum, or just across to the Luxor Temple.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great staff and atmosphere. This is created by the garden, roof top terraces and cosy choice on room furnishing and lighting. Pool is a lovely bonus. The staff often goes the extra mile and owner is friendly and very approachable. His office is in the garden...
Cons: The indoor breakfast setting was let down by the many flies. This seems only a problem to this particular room. Can be solved pretty easily by combination of ceiling fans and some UV lights...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After travelling for 9 months we can most definitely say that El Gezira Garden Hotel is the BEST place we have stayed thus far. If we could give an honest rating we would give it a 20 OUT OF 10! The staff at El Gezira Garden Hotel were beyond amazing with the manager Muhammed making every element of our stay incredible. From the cute rooms to the amazing breakfasts & dinners to the well priced, incredibly knowledgable tour guide that was organised for us, we were blown away. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! - We arrived here as guests and will now walk away as friends.
Cons: Everything was amazing, there was absolutely nothing to dislike. Thank you again El Gezira Garden Hotel, we will most definitely be back!
7.5 Good
Pros: The gardens were beautiful and had lots of birds
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I cheat a little here as this is my 3rd visit/stay so I know what to expect. I go because of its location, its staff and its facilities and charm which from the photo you can see is unique. It says a lot about an establishment that has the same staff (with maybe a couple of exceptions since 9 years).
Cons: There was nothing to dislike ! Perhaps I would like to see some upgrade in bathroom fixtures and fittings and some external windows and doors replaced, but overall I have no dislikes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything! From the moment we arrived until we left we were treated with smiles and affection, nothing too much trouble. An Oasis on the edge of the Nile, amazing food and gardens, we will definitely be visiting again and so sorry that we couldn't stay longer.
Cons: Nothing

5.0 Okay
Pros: Beware, this hotel has several hidden fees so make sure you are aware that you will end up paying significantly more than booking.com leads you to believe. The hotel common spaces are beautiful, with a wonderful pool, view of the Nile, and several restaurants. The room was basic but clean. No WiFi in the rooms, and terrible WiFi available in the lobby and restaurants. There is breakfast included, and there was a massive buffet with a huge variety of foods. Unfortunately, we had a bad first impression when we checked in and requested information to help book a train ticket from Luxor to Cairo on our day of departure. Either of the men at the desk spoke good English or German, so we decided just to go to the train station. When we asked where the train station was located, one man pointed to the sky, the other man just told us we were beautiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are extremely friendly, professional and helpful, the hotel is clean, the breakfast buffet was nice and the view (although we did't book a nile view room) was decent. All in all a really nice hotel, would definitely go again soon.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good showers and clean rooms.
Cons: Some of the staff were difficult to interact with.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Check-in was very smooth; everything was all set for our late arrival around 8:30 pm. Breakfast has all the basics; would be nice if there was more cheese selection (mostly just processed types of cheeses). The chefs do a good job overall. We certainly never left hungry. We ate at 3 different restaurants during our stay for lunches and dinners. We tried the Italian restaurant. The menu is good, and the food is okay. We absolutely LOVED the Lebanese restaurant, especially the waiter named Ragab; he is an older gentleman, and provided super great service. The food is excellent with good variety and taste. It's nice to sit here in the evening, eat, and watch a show. We also ate at the Tropicana restaurant next to the pool. This was a excellent spot for a late lunch. We enjoyed the food and the lazy, relaxing views of the Nile river. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. We had city view rooms, but despite facing the road, there is good soundproofing on the windows and the noise from passing cars and buses never bothered us. The beds are relatively comfortable. The Wifi isn't the best, but it isn't anywhere in this part of Egypt anyway. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others, especially families. My son and my friend and her son enjoyed their stay here. PS: arrange a felucca or motorboat ride with Mr. Yasser at the hotel at the docks. The prices are much more fair than any you'll find elsewhere in Luxor outside of the hotel, and the boatmen are great with kids.
Cons: Nothing really. Could use a bit more variety of deli meats and cheeses at breakfast, but that is pretty minor.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Cons: Needs cleaner rooms. Bed was not comfortable.

Pros: The food was excellent down in the buffet in the morning. I have Celiac so I asked one of the chefs if they had any gluten free bread. They said they would make me some and they did! It was wonderful. So if you are gluten intolerant they will accommodate you.
Cons: It is definitely a wonderful hotel but it is a tourist hotel. So if you go on your own you will be lost in the middle of the chaos of tours coming in unless you push. We came in early so we did not expect to get in to our room immediately but they said they were sorry and it would be about 45 minutes before our room was ready. While we were waiting 2 to 3 separate groups came in, large and small and they immediately accommodated them while we were waiting and sitting. Finally after one hour and fifteen minutes I went up to the counter again and just stood there. The manager noticed me and came over and I kindly explained that we had been waiting and yes we had reservations and they knew we were coming but we had been passed up for 2 to 3 groups. He immediately went in to overdrive and within 5-10 minutes he escorted us up to our room. Later in the day when we came back from some touring he saw us at the elevator and came over and said he had called our room to make sure everything was okay. So he went over the normal courtesies to make sure we were taken care of. The main restaurant had fabulous food. The risotto was marvelous, creamy and hot. The veal medallions with mushroom cream sauce also a winner!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked how friendly and dedicated the staff are. I liked the room decoration, view, swimming pool, and the Falooka boat trips. The takeaway breakfast box.
Cons: The availability and speed of the Wi-Fi. The internet is very slow. They provide you with an access for only one device even if they’re two people in the room which isn’t convenient at all. Instead, they request you to come to the lobby to use the internet for free or buy more access from the Business Center.

Pros: If you are in Luxor, this is a must stay hotel. My family and I were there for 2 nights and 3 days and we loved this place. It is serene and quiet and makes for a relaxing time after trudging through the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the ferry port from where you can easily take a ferry to the east bank or enjoy a fellucca ride at sunset. There are multiple restaurants, ATMs and departmental stores around the hotel to make your stay even more convenient. The rooms are clean, big and airy with an attached balcony and a private verandah that looks onto the Valley of the Kings. If you go up to the roof, you will definitely get an instagrammable pic! Although the menu is not extensive, the food is amazing... especially when you can enjoy it sitting in a garden restaurant! Try the Fish Tagine, Dawood Basha, Egg Shakshuka and Egyptian Breakfast. There are a few tortoises and cats to keep you entertained as well :) The staff are incredibly sweet and will go above and beyond to help you without being pushy. They even arranged pick-up and drop services for us to and from the train station (at an extra cost of course, but this will be the case with any hotel). Ahmed & Mohammed were extremely helpful and made we were happy with all the arrangements & facilities The hotel also offers multiple tours and day trips - like hot air balloon ride near the Valley of the Kings. These tours/trips are over and above your stay cost as these are done in association with other companies. If you want to book anything through them, it would be a great idea to let them know in advance! This hotel is extremely well suited for all types of travelers - couples, families, work trips, etc. It is even child friendly. Most definitely recommended !!! Thank you for the warm welcome and super happy stay Amon Hotel !!!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Garden and freshness. We feel very comfortable, when sleeping (for tourists it’s very important)
Cons: We like everything, but want to wish something about breakfast. In this country wonderful and cheap fruits, add it in the porridge for example. Cheese (hohland) is not a good idea:)))) super primitive and not a specific
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was standard. We ordered more tea and had to pay extra. So just be aware of this. The garden was beautiful as shown on the website
Cons: We do think that we were over charged for the trip to "the valley of the kings" as this is realy not that far.. We also paid 20 EP for water that costed 5 EP in the small shop in the village
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service is very good and helpful
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and relaxing with a good location, as a hotel this place ticks off all the boxes. The garden is a beautiful place to getaway from the Luxor tourist mayhem.
Cons: It sometimes felt like the staff were hawking us to sell tours and taxi rides (the latter for extortionate amounts) - or simply to ask for a tip. We felt a little uncomfortable. Airconditioning was too loud to use. There was a misunderstanding about the bill we felt could've been solved better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Never had breakfast and location is great access to ferry. Ahmed drove me for 2 days and he was wonderful.
Cons: I liked everything
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very accommodating. Helpful, gracious and friendly.
Cons: Food was so so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ahmed and Mohamed (father and son) helped us with everything we needed. They made us feel at home. They’re building a wonderful new wing in the hotel that will be finished soon. A great example of hard work and dedication. If you want to have a real Egyptian experience Amin is much more recommended than the big international hotels that lack soul.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the hotel treated us like we were part of his family. Because of his generosity we were able to watch a funeral procession, attend a wedding party, and have tea at his daughter-in-law‘s house. We truly felt like we were part of the West Bank family in Luxor! He also arrange for us to be able to go swimming at a local 5 star hotel and have dinner at their establishment To sum up we had the trip of a lifetime and enjoyed every minute with our Egyptian family. Shokran Ahmed!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was yoghurt, bananas, tea, nescafe, omelet or eggs. and bread and butter and jam. Having bananas, yoghurt and omelet made a sustaining breakfast. in the delightful garden and friendly waiter, Hassan.
Cons: I would have liked a window to see out. There were two but with mandatory shutters to keep the aircon effective.

7.1 Good
Pros: Big room, clean pool, friendly and understanding staff
Cons: Very noisy location, not helped by the loud disco held from 9pm on our first night (not very family friendly). Restaurant was slow and empty, limited food, and paying between restaurant and hotel was fiddly. Staff a bit pushy to sell local tours.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wow... Many many thing. Staff very helpful.. friendly... Good service mind. etc.
Cons: I think all good to me.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean hotel with spacious well equipped rooms. Swimming pool was a treat.
Cons: vendors waiting outside front gate
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and view couldn’t be better. Staff were really friendly and helpful, arranging a personal driver for us for a couple of days. Really appreciated the pool for cooling off after a hard day sightseeing!
Cons: Room decor was a little tired, but very clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great with the nice view of the Nile River and Luxor Temple on the East Bank. Staffs here are awesome too! They are a family run accommodation and treats us like family too! And their laundry service are awesome! And the best part is we had the best food in Egypt during our trip on the Felucca which the manager highly recommend that we take it! For a non fish lover, I ate up 2 fried fish done by the captain on the Felucca on Nile River. If you stay here, you got to ask the manager to arrange for you! We really miss the fish now!!!
Cons: The shower area is on the smaller side but all others are good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everybody in the hotel is helpful and kind. Never had a room that big and clean and I often pay more. I recommend booking your days trip with them as Luxor ‘’guide’’ and driver can be quite annoying
Cons: I would have like to spend more time there is so much to see around
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Out stay in El Mesala hotel was really great. We had a nice room/apartment with our own big balcony with nile view. The staff (Mohammed, his sun Ahmed and all the others) was super friendly, trustable and helpful. The food (breakfast but also lunch or dinner) on the nice roof terrace with superb view on the Nile and Luxor temple is delicious and sufficient. Location is super central but quiet and just 2 minutes walk away from the ferry. They were good in arranging trips and airport taxi with a trustable car and driver (Ahmed). I would definitely recommend it to every-one (also for people with kids) and if I come back I will stay here again! No doubt about that!
Cons: Nothing and if I have to say something it is the noise of the Airco but we didn't need it so for us no problem at all.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Located on the West Bank of Luxor. More peaceful on this side than much of the East Bank. It was pleasant to take the ferry across the Nile each day between the two sides of the city. The hotel is about 150 meters from where the ferry docks, along the river. Great view from my window, as well as the hotel restaurant, which has some American dishes and a big free breakfast. The manager helped arranged a trip to Dendera Temple for me (60 km south of Luxor) and printed out my visa, which I had misplaced. Internet was great, considering the country. (FYI - It's a cheaper cab ride from the airport to the east bank ferry dock, than to have them drive all the way over to the West Bank.)
Cons: Some nights were a bit noisy on the street outside the hotel. Some of the hotel staff liked to play the music from the restaurant a little loud, which drifted down the stairwell to the rooms. Construction going on next door during the daytime when I stayed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - very good location (river view and a couple of minutes to the ferry boat) - helpful and friendly staff - very nice roof terrace with a lovely view on the river - clean rooms - breakfast very basic but enough
9.0 Excellent
Pros: location was excellent, beautiful views of the nile, situated at the site of the tourist ferry on the west bank of the nile staff was friendly, welcoming and warm
Cons: the breakfast coffee was nescafe sachets, no filter coffee or brewed coffee wifi reception in our room was extremely weak

Experience the timeless beauty of the Nile amid the contemporary design of the Mercure Luxor Karnak hotel. Nestled in a shady garden on the river's East bank, the hotel offers 347 rooms with private terraces or balconies. Unwind with a plunge into the swimming pool overlooking the Nile or the Jacuzzi. Savor barbecue dishes in our open-air Karnak grill or dine in the atmosphere of a pharaonic temple at Opet restaurant. In the evening, enjoy cocktails and live music at the elegant Carter Bar.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was beautiful and the facilities were great. Good pool. Rooms were very spacious and excellent AC.
Cons: Wifi is only available in the reception area. Wasn't very fast either. A little far from town so require taxis or cars to get around. Shower in the suite (room 1100) didn't work unfortunately.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our check-in was smooth. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to hold our room while we went to Aswan for the day. The room service food was pretty good.
Cons: The hotel was far out. It's not central or near any stores/restaurants.
7.5 Good
Pros: It’s a quiet place overlooking the Nile with palm trees allover . 15 minutes from the city center .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property is a very big resort with a good size swimming pool and a nice garden area with restaurants available. We had a lovely stay. The rooms are okay, a bit out of date but clean. overall good stay. The staff is fantasic they are very caring, very sweet, always smiling and ready to help you. the reception lady Aya was also very nice and helpfull. Do not that when you book this property it is not near the city center, so if you want to go to the shops or restaurants you have to take a taxi.
Cons: all was good.
7.0 Good
Pros: Welcoming and friendly staff. Orange juice on arrival. Good air conditioning. Nice restaurant offering buffet breakfast and dinner including a choice of whether to eat inside or outside on the terrace. Charming sous chef who was so pleased to hear compliments about his food. Nice cafe which offered food when the restaurant was closed. Also an outside cafe area too but very hot! Lovely pool open from 9 until sunset. Pool bar available. Shops available selling postcards, jewellery, souvenirs etc. ATM available too. Room was perfectly adequate. Nice little seating area outside. Good air conditioning. Mini fridge. Complementary tea service on arrival in the room.
Cons: We stayed here for 5 days after catching an internal flight from Cairo to Luxor. The hotel is situated on the East Bank. Apart from Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Luxor Museum and the Mummification Museum, everything else is situated on the West Bank (Valley of the KIngs etc.) so we regretted that decision slightly as it meant a 30-40 minute taxi journey every time we wanted to go to the West Bank. WiFi ONLY available in reception, not in any of the bedrooms or around the complex so that was a slight disadvantage when wanting to book trips etc. for the following days. Slightly limited a la carte menu so it became a bit repetitive by day 4/5. I think there may have been a couple of other areas to eat / drink but we didn't explore those. A little confusing as the TV screens behind reception seemed to list 4 places to eat but the piece of paper in our room only seemed to provide the opening times for 2 of them (the main restaurant and cafe). It did seem as though the hotel was stretched a little bit for staff. The people managing the cafe also managed the bar inside and the pool bar outside. This often meant that no one was available when you wanted to order. A singer performs in the bar on a couple of evenings a week but unfortunately every time we passed, she was performing to an empty room. They have a beauty salon on site which we found rather odd. A little annoying having leaflets handed out to you whilst you're lounging at the pool, offering you haircuts and manicures. A range of activities advertised (e.g. tennis, squash etc.) but we saw no evidence of these. Very loud mini fridge overnight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect holiday for us!! Extra nice pool and garden area by the Nile river for relaxing!! Food was also great. And staff were extra helpful and professional all the way!! Good value for money. Perfect 10 from us :)
Cons: Maybe wifi could work also on the pool area(?)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location on the Nile. Lovely gardens and peaceful setting with birds.
Cons: Very minor details with small flying insects due to gardens. But not an issue.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beds very comfy
Cons: More complimentary tea and coffee they are cheap to provide and nit picki ng to allow only 1 each and charge you for more if u want it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A real highlight of our trip to Egypt - Thanks for the outstanding service Yvonne & Abdel, and whole staff! Easy checkin and checkout, especially considering our middle-of-the-night flights in and out! I shared the 2-bedroom, 2-bath apt with my parents and it was clean, spacious, beautiful terrace and view. The breakfast and dinner were delicious, friendly & talented cooking staff! We were even able to do our laundry at their machine on-site. The pool was awesome after hot days exploring amazing temples. Quiet location, very nearby to great sites. Good wifi accessible throughout property. Plentiful fans and AC in rooms to keep things cool as possible. We made plans independently with a guide service, but the staff here is more than happy to help arrange day tours, as well as reasonable cost airport transportation. My favorite aspect was how easy it was to communicate with Yvonne on whatsapp, and how flexible the whole staff is - you can do breakfast and dinner almost anytime you want! I would love to come back to Luxor and would happily return for another stay here!
Cons: Just be aware you need to pay in cash, prepare in advance. Other than that, fabulous!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: People as usual make the difference. Yvonne and her husband did everything to help us. Villa is far from the center but it is quit and Yvonne can arrange for your transportation to Luxor. You need 30 EGP for taxi to the boat and 20 EGP for the boat to Luxor. Do not pay yourself. You will pay more. Let Yvonne arrange that. Yvonne has every solution for everything you need. Strongly recommended! We will be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I stayed for 6 nights, and couldn’t be happier that we found Villa Kaslan. We loved staying on the West Bank, out of the hustle and bustle of Luxor City’s hustle and bustle, and at times dustyness. We also loved escaping the heat and having a swim in their beautiful pool! Yvonne and Abdul made us feel so welcomed and at home in their home. Their hospitality and assistance is beyond amazing - they have so much information and advice to share about Luxor, how to get around and navigate and what not to miss. Definitely heed their advice! Our room was super homely, and the food cooked by Omar was absolutely delicious. Their staff were so friendly and helpful - I cannot express my absolute gratitude. We will never forget our time here, ever. Or Spot. She was beautiful! We hope to visit again one day! We were sad to leave. Do not overlook Villa Kaslan, it will make your stay in Luxor peaceful, relaxed, comfortable and like you’re coming home every day. Thank you for everything!

Pros: Yvonne and her husband Abdelrahim made the day stay absolutely amazing, and it went above and beyond expectation. The staff were fantastic, attentive and great to chat to. The food was absolutely superb and there's a great range, the portions were very good, leaving you filled for a long time! There's tea, coffee, and fresh lime juice on tap (which by the way, was glorious). It genuinely was the best place I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The location is on the quiet side just across the river, nice and peaceful and good for walking if you like that. You can also get a ferry over the river to see the sights. Yvonne has some great tips and printouts to help you get acquainted with the area, and it very informative. Communication was perfect too, everything in general was perfect. It was an absolute pleasure, thanks again guys :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If I could, I would rate it as an 11 on 10. Yvonne and her husband made sure we found our way around Luxor and all the monuments to see. The place is conveniently located between the Valley of Kings and Karnak. We had the rooftop room with a giant size balcony which was sunny and private. Did not have time to enjoy the pool so we might have to go back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a marvelous place to stay for our six days in Luxor. The apartment was large and comfortable. The owners Yvonne and Abdelrahim were fantastic, arranging our transportation needs and food. The cook prepared wonderful dinners for us and take away breakfasts for us on early mornings.

Pros: The hosts were very nice and hospital also, they really aimed to make me feel welcome. The breakfast was excellent!
Cons: I wish I had known earlier that the host provided tours as I would have done my tour with them rather than booking outside. My suggestion to someone staying at Luxor Guesthouse would be to take advantage of all of the services offered.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing! Hassan was very kind to us, always available when we needed and providing all the information about Luxor. The room was amazing: well decorated, very comfortable, clean, the AC worked perfectly and wifi was working very well. We were on the room at the rooftop with a view to the common terrace and the Nile river. We could also use the pool at the hotel and it was very relaxing.
Cons: Nothing to complain about the hotel. Just be careful with the tours offered on the streets. Sometimes they don't even have a tour agency and keep offering you tour services (insisting a lot) that are not so good. We were fooled by one of them on the hotel's street. If you want, ask at the hotel for some tours or do the search before.

Pros: Apartment. Compared to other in Egypt, it was far better.
Cons: Breakfast. Don't expect more..
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great tranquille location and super welcoming and nice host. He took us to Kings Valley and Luxor Temple and was super knowledgable and passionate about the history. The traditional dinner they cooked for us was amazing and very good value. Would definetly come back!

Pros: Great little guest house on the West Bank of the Nile. Small, quiet, great value for money. Achmed and Hassan were great hosts. Rooms were really good, and a nice neighbourhood too. (The hotel cat Romeo adopted us for our stay) Lovely little pool out the front to beat the July heat. I’d stay again for sure.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for money, if you do hot air balloon don’t hesitate to go through the owner he can have you very good price ! Nice people, nice breakfast
Cons: We had a dinner once, it was late (around 9pm) so we thought to go somewhere else as no one was there but finally they came and made us something but I would not recommend as I ordered grilled fish and I had fried one (not enough cooked so I couldn’t eat it) and my boyfriend asked a mixed grilled and he got fried chicken. But the except this little point it was a very good stay!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was always delicious and they even let me have a second coffee! Very much appreciated the view as well
Cons: nothing

Cons: Right next door to a mosque and its very loud speaker. So we were woken every morning at 4:30 by the call to prayers. Then heard speaker at 5 to 6 pm again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! What an incredible place, the staff were simply amazing. Could not have made us even more welcome particularly Mahmoud at the pool...thanks for making our trip
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all I’m not an extravagant person, so while this could be considered an extravagant place I felt it was worth every penny and more. The price of admission to the Winter Palace could be looked at as a ticket on a time machine, there just aren’t a lot of places like this left in the world.
Cons: It was perfect
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Egg station was good. Cornflakes and similar weren't good quality. I missed pork-bacon. The restaurant, as well as the whole hotel, have a very agreable ambiemte. The Park and the Pool are very good. Barbecue Dinner was average
Cons: see above

9.1 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely stunning grounds created an oasis of tranquility and beauty.
Cons: Vendors assail you almost immediately at the hotel exit. This was the experience in Luxor but repeated throughout many of Egypt's tourist areas. luxor
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic staff, great location, beautiful grounds in which to escape the business of the streets outside.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the pool
Cons: Nothing to think of
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very kind and professional, location is super . Atmosphere is amazing.
Cons: No kids activities or area , the new year Eve party wasn't very good and it was extremely expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stuff , they do their best to be satisfied. Nice historic palace and garden.
6.3 Good
Pros: I like how close it was to the Luxor Temple
Cons: I felt like it was a scam. I booked this property with an All Inclusive deal and only a few days before my arrival I received an email saying that that was a mistake and I will only be allowed for a free breakfast. Of course at that short notice I could not find any good deals so I had to "agree" to what they offered. What was even more upsetting and disappointing is that the hotel didn't do anything to compensate that mistake. They didn't offer anything not even free water bottles that ALL hotels in Egypt give. I had to beg to get some free water bottles and remind them of their mistake so they can give 2 small 50 ridiculous ml water bottles! We booked this holiday at this hotel thinking it would be special because of my sister's birthday and it was not. We made reservation at their expensive a la carte French restaurant and the concierge at the lobby told us they will make a birthday cake but in fact once we ate our dinner the waiter didn't bring nothing. What a shame! First they don't apologise for their mistake, second they do not do nothing for amend it and third I have to beg for things. Terrible management, a shame for a world we'll know French Accor Hotel chain.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The roof-top terrace gave us wonderful views of the Nile & sunset every day. Ragaf did a fantastic job cleaning our room, leaving us a ‘towel sculpture’ every morning. All the staff were super-friendly & helpful... would recommend.
Cons: At dinner, the roof-top terrace wasn’t segregated into ‘smoking’& ‘non-smoking’ so occasionally this would cause annoyance. Also, there is no elevator so if you are on the top floor, be warned, it is quite a hike!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location! Walking distance to Lyxor tenple and el corniche. Behind the bazaar. I enjoyed warching the hot air baloon from the rooftop in the morning. Beautiful view to Nile River and Valley of the king / west bank.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and very clean family hotel with all the basics, great value considering the cost. The rooftop vibe was fantastic and so was the staff, super friendly both at the hotel and rooftop/adjacent restaurant staff, after a few days they made us feel at home. The location is decent, right across from Luxor Temple and a souk to do the last minute shopping.
Cons: Guess? You got it! To say there's WiFi is a fallacy, it simply doesn't work. If it had Wifi this hotel would top notch place to stay! Also, although not the hotel's fault but just something to consider, prepare yourself mentally for all the annoying street hustle. Breads/pastries during breakfast, depending on the day, could be stale.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed it’s Egyptian design, the rooftop restaurant, and the sidewalk café. The staff is friendly, and courteous.
Cons: Because we were three, we found our room small.

Pros: Allows you to enjoy the culture of Luxor at close quarters.
Cons: No alcohol.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is awesome, with amazing views to luxor's temple. The service in general, in particular Raged, the man that cleaned our room every day. The restaurant based in the rooftop is absolutely delicious, we ate there every meal of our stay and nothing disappointed.
Cons: There was not enough space between the shower and the toilet
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and food is good
Cons: Horse carriages outside/ people will not stop bothering you

Pros: second time here in two years. We love this place except for a couple of things. Lobby Restaurant. We tried to eat here a couple of times but the young guy at the Tourist desk was either playing his music loudly or carrying on a loud conversation on his cell. The beds were the WORST we had tried to sleep on in years. After the third night we rotated the mattresses 180% and slept well. The housekeeping should be replacing/and rotating these often. The Lobby. The smoke here drifts around the ground floor and is not acceptable in any better hotel in the world. The building should be smoke free or restricted to a floor of rooms for smokers.I will consider my options before staying there again.
Cons: See above.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room and location is very good , reception are friendly
Cons: Lunch and dinner in hotel restaurant is poor and not good ,
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful and nice
Cons: The hotel is for smokers! I’m not a smoker so it was hard for me in my room and every where in the hotel
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, hospitality stuff, affordable price, awesome breakfast
Cons: No wifi in the rooms or weak in the lobby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: After staying at a couple of B&B in Egypt, Eatabe(this is the name known by the locals) was a treat. The shower works properly and the AC helps with the desert heat. The buffet breakfast served between 6 and 10 was decent with western and Egyptian choices.
Cons: Everything seems a bit run down. Maintenance work is definitely needed, especially the bed which has a dip in the middle. No free WiFi is provided but you probably already got a SIM card. Plus, the WiFi in Egypt, in my experience, is rather slow.
6.0 Good
Cons: There should be a internet in the room..It was very annoying
