Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a lovely hotel just packed with history. The staff could not have been more helpful or kind; my room was perfect. I wish I could have stayed here longer to enjoy the gorgeous garden. Can’t comment on the restaurants, as the only meal I ate here was breakfast, which was absolutely fine. Hope to come back soon!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: An excellent hotel with a history. The location is perfect with a nice view on the river Nile and very close to the center. The hotel 'breathes' luxury and exclusivity. The hotel being a historic place adds to the experience. I love the old victorian style with the high ceilings and chandeliers. It also has a spacious and beautifull garden with an open air restaurant.
Cons: The old style might not be for everyones taste, and as a casual dresser I felt a bit out of place sometimes. But that didn't seem to bother the nice staff who treated me with all respect and great service. Also when looking at some details, (mainly on the oustside, drainpipes and elevator) there could be bit more attention to maintenance.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The staffs are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The region is not so good. When I walked outside to a nearby ATM, I was approached by a local guy trying to sell his boat trip. After I said I have no interest, he was just following me all the way and asking me for money. He only stopped when I was back to the hotel. Also be careful about the taxi in the region. We took a taxi to airport from the hotel and we agreed with the driver to pay 250 EGP. But we approached airport, he was about to drop us off at a gate that was 10min walk from the airport, and he insisted us to pay him 50 EGP more to drop us off at the airport. That was 10pm at night. Worried about safety we paid him 300EGP. That was not much money, but the experience was really bad.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Simply wonderful! A transition to far more elegant times.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything else. My room was $104 AUD. That wouldn't book me a hovel in Australia.
Cons: The lift is old school and very noisy when it stops and starts. Plus it has a swinging door that bangs. I had a room not far from lift and a large group checked in early morning so constant banging meant I had to stay up till 2 am while they all good sorted. I love that it is old, classic with history and great value but maybe a new elevator is in order, or maybe oil the existing one.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It is a magnificent hotel. It has a beautiful location. It has outstanding service.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great breakfast, staff was lovely—help and polite—went to train station to buy ticket for me! pool, beautiful garden
Cons: Bedroom worn out and tired looking.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: What a large beautiful hotel with delicious buffet!sincerely recommend!Good memories here~
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was AMAZING!! So accommodating with whatever we needed, and did it with a smile.
Cons: Loved it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Absolutely charming colonial style hotel with an exceptional staff. The level of service and kindness of the staff is outstanding. The food is very high quality. Great location next to Luxor temple. Beautiful gardens and pool.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: very good location
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location, quiet, clean, professional staff and very nice garden
Cons: All Ok
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Excellent gardens and pool area. Splendid hotel to chill out for two days. Good location within walking distance to restaurants and the souk. Nice breakfast on the patio overlooking the gardens.
Cons: Cost of drinks and laundry were a little high but commensurate with good hotels.
Excellent 9.1
Pros: Absolutely stunning grounds created an oasis of tranquility and beauty.
Cons: Vendors assail you almost immediately at the hotel exit. This was the experience in Luxor but repeated throughout many of Egypt's tourist areas. luxor
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was really amazing. Don't even think about another place. You can walk to luxor temple in 5 minutes, gardens are spectacular. Pool incredible, good breakfasts and the cleanest hotel. They clean the room twice a a day, it's immaculate! Thank you for the very best time. Luxor and Eygpt is incredible. I travelled alone as a woman and felt safe at all times!
Cons: It was amazing there was nothing I didn't like!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent and relaxing surrounding with lovely garden and pool area. Access to the legendary Old Winterpalace hotel and its services was most enjoyable. Will definitely return when next time in Luxor.
Cons: Could not find a thing!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The pool, silence, good value
Cons: The constant hassle from people outside the hotel trying to sell you services. They shouldn’t be allowed to stand there. Extremely annoying.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. View was excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I like the pool
Cons: Nothing to think of
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything. Clean, 5 minute walk to Luxor temple. Staff are friendly and kind. It's in the old gardens of the place of Eygpts last King. It's gardens are stunning, pool beautiful and a good size. It's elegant and amazing value for money. It's the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, cleaned twice a day. It shares the same grounds and pool, bar etc as the Winter Palace. If you are happy to have the most beautiful garden view rather than the nile go for Pavillon you won't regret it!
Cons: Nothing! Taxis outside are a pain and insistent, but if you ignore them they give up eventually. This is not the hotel though, just outside and they are outside every hotel in Luxor. So not a negative for the hotel.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Located on the grounds of the Winter Palace, sharing the garden, pool and outdoor bar and restaurant facilities without the price of the Sofitel attached. Very good food and beautiful area.
Cons: It’s a bit older in look, and there’s a bit of a stale smoke smell in some rooms, but for the price and location it’s hardly something to be upset about.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: This hotel is an oasis in hot and crazy Luxor. Great gardens and pool area. Location and access to town and sights was perfect. Staff very helpful and went out of their way including a flowers on the bed
Cons: Very little to say other than flies were a nuisance and hair dryer did not work

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Guest relations was very attentive and accommodated an early check in for us as my wife was ill and we arrived early. Breakfast offered a varied spread, and the overall staff was very professional and friendly.
Cons: The pool closes early at 6PM.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Newly refurbished rooms, though bathroom n doors are still old. They took over from an early hotel, renamed it and continued operating. Location facing the nile with beautiful sunset.
Cons: Old. In need of renewal. They advertised having 7/8 dining options but only two are operating.
Good 7.1
Pros: Price was good as was the location. I enjoyed the pool after a hot day’s sight seeing and breakfast was substantial
Cons: The room could have been cleaner
Okay 4.6
Pros: The location by the Nile and close to Alkarnak temple.
Cons: The table and the bed side table were dirty and had dirt stains on it. The room was older. The sink did not drain the water. The TV remote had drained batteries. The bed pillows was not comfortable. The internet access was fast but not convenient. No parking at the facility. Street parking is available. No outside concierge was available for any help or information.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful hotel, clean, very comfortable rooms and great staff.
Cons: Prices are relatively high, but that's to be expected at a high category hotel like this one.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amina was amazing. She provided information and insight not available in any guidebook. This was the secret of our success on this trip. We were able to navigate the local customs in order to experience our desired destinations with a minimum of hassle. Her presence is a treasure at the Steigenberger, taking the establishment from good to great. The breakfast was amazing. It provided sufficient variety to expose us to many types of Egyptian cuisine. The abundance of options meant we had no need to refuel during our adventures until evening. Try the honeydew melon juice. The multiple restaurants within the hotel grounds provided convenient, high quality options.
Cons: The refrigerator could have been larger, considering the amount of water necessary to drink.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff is very cooperative and polite. Tha flowers and the roses were wonderful
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was so accommodating and kind. The view is beautiful out by the pool. All the restaurants were great and had wonderful service. They booked great tours for us too.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Everything, staff were great as usual, nice breakfast selection
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Excellent 10.0
Pros: After arriving and being welcomed to the Hotel I was escorted to my room by a lovely lady who gave me all the information I needed for a pleasant stay, also arranging a late checkout for me. All the staff were friendly and professional. The room was clean and bright, fresh fruit greeted me on the table upon entering the room. coffee and tea making facilities were at my disposal. There is also a mini bar should you wish to use it, there are many shops, ATM etc nearby. The back of the hotel is on the Nile with boat trips available. The hotel has many facilities.
Cons: not a great view from my room.

Pros: The View of the Nile. Also the location of the Hotel.
Cons: The Hotel is over used and needs renovation.
Mediocre 3.8
Cons: Worst traveling experience in my life and worst hotel I’ve been so far. Unprofessional, limited understanding of English and they didn’t care about the customer. They overcharge room WiFi. We paid to have internet and the internet wasn’t working. They made me spend like 3 hours to figure out was happening. The stuff was terrible, they sent an “IT guy” to help us out and he hadn’t any idea what he was doing. He came and the only thing he said it was my phone is connecting I don’t know what’s wrong with yours. That’s how he came to help and guess what he made us angrier. We had a lot of work to do and we did nothing because we hadn’t internet. Thank god the we stayed only for a day. Terrible experience
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The view ... The position...
Cons: Excellent hotel. The staff is very freindly and the location and the view are wonderful...

Excellent 10.0
Pros: They really do their best to make the clients satisfied, very familiar athmosphere, outstanding, thank you!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staffs were very helpful especially Ahmed Araby. And the location is best
Cons: They didn't provide water bottles
Excellent 8.8
Pros: the hotel is located in a very good location, near to Nile, Luxor Museum and the big market close to the train station also the upper terrace is just amazing, it makes you feel the Egyptian vibration while you are enjoying the food
Excellent 9.2
Pros: I like the location of the hotel behind Luxor temple, near the boat station going to west bank, near the market and near to luxor train station. The balcony has a good view, you will take your breakfast in the balcony with a beautiful scenery in the morning (the hot air ballon in the west bank) , nile river and luxor temple.
Cons: No slippers in the room and sometimes no electricity for few minutes not only in the hotel but in luxor area because i experience also a brownout in McDonald while i’m taking my lunch (mcdo is near luxor temple)
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The property was a great experience, exactly what you want to feel when traveling to see the ancient city of Thebes. The rooftop seating allows for a jaw dropping view of the Temple, Nile and the Mountains. I would stay here every time. They also organized great trips for us and the value was fantastic
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was great. Very comfortable room, good simple hotel but with everything you need. Location is perfect, could not be better. The roof terrace is probably the best part, beautiful place to chill, eat, have a drink, watch the sunset or sunrise. I would stay here again if I come back to Luxor. Staff are really nice and helpful. all of them especially Mostafa at the reception.
Cons: Zero complaints but if they had a swimming pool it would be really perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved this hotel and the staff were excellent. The food at the cafe was very good and reasonably priced. Being so close to Luxor temple and the soul was a bonus!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A comfortable, friendly and safe place in the chaos of touristic Luxor.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Super friendly staff & very accommodating hosts. The rooms were lovely, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side but met our needs.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: This is a great Hostel. The owner Ali make sure that you will have a great time in Luxor. Give you a Short Brief where to find Stift and places. And offers very cheap Tours, which are Impossible to so It by yourself for Same Price! (Trust me, I tryed by myself) Ali was even helping me to get me a Last Minute train Ticket from Luxor to Aswan! Great People There.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The people here are the kindest I've ever seen in Egypt. We can really trust these people, always helped me all the things I needed. Love the people, wanna see them again someday.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location about 5 mins walk from train station. Great place for backpackers and budget travelers!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Good location, comfortable bed & friendly / helpful staff
Cons: Water pessure was iffy, no TP for the bathrooms
Poor 1.0
Cons: This hostel is genuinely one of the worst places we have stayed in nineteen months of budget travel to over 40 countries. If you like being denied the room you booked, getting food poisoning from an absolutely filthy kitchen, being shouted at for bargaining for a fair deal and never being provided the services that have been agreed upon, then this is the place for you. Don't let the initial warm demeanour of the owners fool you, they are ripping you off at every turn and refuse to follow through on any agreements they make. We were looking to book a private car for three days to go to visit the archaeological sites and they initially said that $30 per day would get us an english speaking driver for the day and that it would be completely hassle free. We bartered down to $20 per day as this is far more reasonable compared to Egyptian prices, and had a car agreed for 6am-2pm with unlimited stops, wherever we wanted within the Luxor area. Each day was a nightmare with a driver that barely understood even the names of the archeolgical sites, had their own idea of where they wanted to go, and tried to force us to finish hours early. Somehow the owners of the hostel though this was our fault and shouted at us. When we told a couple of other guys that showed up about the problems we'd had, the owners shouted at us again. Not to mention that every time my boyfiend left for a second to grab something from the room, the older guy kept trying to force me to buy to a feluca ride and glared at me when I refused. Avoid at all costs.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Bob Marley House is awesome, if you want to go to Luxor and feel like you is a part of an egyptian family is the best place!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Ok, some things can be fix (noisy AC) or refresh (rooftop), but with the help of all of the crew, we spend greats days in Louxor, and that's really all we need !
Good 6.3
Pros: The staff were great. Very friendly, always helpful. I was able to organise a great tour of the west Bank through them. While the location is down a seedy side street, it is close to a supermarket and some local food joints. For the money, it is OK.
Cons: I had thought I was booking the more famous Bob Marly hostel in Luxor, but I guess these guys are capitilizing on the same name. It was down a seedy side street, and the WiFi was very slow (but the WiFi issue I think is common in Egypt.)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owner is a great person. The best stay till now highly recommended
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was perfect, we loved the place and the staff was amazing. 10/10 that I would go back again, I would not even try another place. The staff makes you feel like your at home. Amazing!
Cons: Can’t complain, everything was amazing!

Excellent 8.0
Cons: The locals were very persistent and every 2 meters you get harassed by people saying they work in the hotel/restaurant and they want to take you to the market. These markets they dont have fixed prices and they are way over priced.
Good 6.3
Pros: Nice reception area and rooms.
Cons: No sealed water bottles in the room or breakfast area. Basic breakfast. WiFi was not working. Tours arranged by the agent in the lobby were quite expensive and since WiFi was not working we had no option but to book with them.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room was clean, friendly staff, also the breakfast is quite good. The hotel is not far from the train station and the museums.
Cons: The dinner isn’t that good, it’s tasteless.
Good 6.7
Pros: The location was great! But you get what you pay for. It felt dated and grimy. They beds needed to be replaced about 7 years ago. The pool was great, but they use the term “pool bar” very loosely. The bar and “pool bar” staff were fantastic, but the front desk staff could take some lessons. And the travel agents inside the hotel were a little too pushy starting the second we walked in the door, still holding our bags and tired from traveling all day.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Breakfast was OK
Cons: No water in room No coffee, no sugar etc. Cleanliness was bad. Services were really poor. No one to attend your phone call.
Good 6.7
Cons: They made a private party that did not allowed us to sleep. They did not even apologise
Good 6.3
Pros: Aly was the only person who communicated & helped us with all our needs.. We loved the sun rise &sun set scenery..
Cons: Food was ok, can be improved, & hotel should get a car for residents pick up & drop..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: location is gd, rm is clean and nice. breakfast is expectable. staff are helpful.
Cons: breakfast can be better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast food was great, it varied each day, it was plentiful. Staff were friendly, I enjoyed sharing my 30-40 words of Arabic with their 30-40 words of English. I wish there had been more local Egyptian music played in the cafeteria and other places rather than the boring uninteresting music that was played that could have been from most anywhere. Having a safe in the room made us feel secure, especially when we realized that our terrace door did not lock. A/C worked great. Pool was super after hot days seeing the wonders of ancient Egyptian civilization.

Pros: The Achti is right on the bank of Nile and just 10 minutes from the centre of Luxor by Taxi. The staff are outstanding. They were friendly, willing and took the time to get to know my family. Our room was clean, cool and we could walk straight onto a terrace to watch the sun set over the river. There's a desk at reception for organising private tours. They booked our visit to the Valley of the Kings plus some of the more distant sights one morning. That took 5 hours, so we started at 7am to avoid the midday heat. For other sites closer to the Hotel, such as Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple, we took a taxi. If you need a guide, you'll commonly find one at any of the larger sites. We hired one for the first hour of our Karnak visit. Karnak and Luxor Temples are linked by an 3KM ancient road. It's lined with sphynxes and our taxi driver stopped to let us take photos from a bridge spanning it. We're adventurous with food in any Country, but Egypt doesn't make is easy to find a decent meal outside of the Hotels. The Achti does a great job and the breakfast buffet is excellent. It's not quite the Four Seasons in Cairo (top class), but you'll find an good selection of hot and cold foods and an Omelette Chef. For dinner, their Italian restaurant does a good job of things and their main restaurant has a decent enough menu to please most people. Getting onto the river was easy. The staff organised that for us with a local sailor at just one hour's notice. The boats are berthed next to the Hotel and you can sail as the sun sets or pop over the river by motor boat to Banana Island. It's probably a small thing, but TV in Egyptian Hotels seems a bit hit and miss. The Achti has a good selection with BBC World Service, CNN and movies. That was handy, because I had picked up an illness in Cairo. A few hours of downtime in the room one day was just a little more pleasant.
Cons: We're pretty hardy travellers, so walking around Cairo and Luxor wasn't an issue for us. You're celebrities if you do, but "No" is a word that sometimes falls on deaf ears. Be prepared to say it politely, but firmly.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The hotel was wonderful, staff very friendly and situated perfectly. We were helped by Ali and his felucca to go into town and visit the sights, It made our stay so much easier. Loved every minute
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is a true resort ... sitting on the edge of the Nile. Frankly, it was the nicest piece of real estate I experienced the entire time I was in Egypt. The staff were exceptional in every way, too. Every morning I had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, sitting outside overlooking the Nile while I sipped my coffee. What a marvelous experience!
Cons: There was nothing I disliked.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The rooms are beautiful, breakfast selection is by far the best we have experienced in Egypt, all staff are lovely and friendly and the pools are amazing!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It is a very beautiful setting, the patio and pool overlook the Nile and the mountains and valleys beyond. The staff were helpful and the breakfast quiet exceptional … best ever! The hotel is stunning and classy throughout. Swimming in the pool by the Nile day and night was quite magical. There are some lovely local restaurants near in walking distance, the Lanterns and for a cheap meal Maximes. We stayed for six nights and loved it,
Cons: The hotel was in a state of change when we stayed and there was little or no tourist information available to help us orientate ourselves. The Nile Cruisers a few hundred metres up river ran their diesel engines all the time, some with dirty exhausts. It dented the ambience a little. Maybe when its more busy they would be away up river. Personally I didn't like being greeted by Egyptian musicians whenever we returned. After a day of hassle on the streets I wanted a place which was baksheesh free!
Okay 4.2
Pros: property is too old But OK OK
Cons: Air-condition not good enough, no mini bar, no view , very little balcony, no display or signs for restaurants / offers/ services or any. Toilet flush not operational. far from market. hassle start from gate itself.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Stay at Achti Resort provided us with great opportunity to rest and relax after exploring ancient wonders of Luxor. Great value for money and fantastic Nile view.
Good 7.9
Pros: Great service compared to Egyptian standards. Nice swimming pool and gardens, perfect for families.
Cons: Average cleanliness (generally ok but don't look in the corners or underneath the beds..). Due to off season, most restaurants were closed without notice. Breakfast was very poor, products were not fresh and clearly served again day after day.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Brilliant hotel, good, polite, friendly service from all the staff. Friends felt safe in there first visit to Luxor

Mediocre 2.4
Pros: Location
Cons: Old premises, extremely dirty facilities,
Okay 5.6
Pros: Nice swimming pools, great breakfast buffet, and the hotel is in a fantastic location adjacent to the Nile.
Cons: Meal prices in the hotel are way too high for Egypt, as is the charge for use of the internet. The internet cafe outside the hotel entrance charges 15 Egyptian pounds per hour compared with the Sheraton's 80 pounds per hour.
Okay 5.2
Pros: Staff were mostly friendly, facilities were good
Cons: On arrival they had no record of my booking, I had to wait almost 30 minutes to check in, they should solve their administrative problems in their own time, I had just come off a flight was tired and hot, I did not need to stand in reception when they solved their internal admin problems.
Good 7.2
Pros: The swimming pool just near the Nile

Pros: Swimming pool is nice and staff too.
Cons: Everything is really old. The pictures I saw are not corresponding to reality, I booked because I saw in the picture a nice room, but then I got into an old one. Breakfast is not amazing either. It's supposed to be 5 stars, but I would rate it as 3!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: We arrived early in the morning and they let us check in well before the expected time. We had a spacious room with a great view. The facilities are nice and the pool area is well maintained. There were a variety of choice for breakfast, dinner, and alcohol. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The main entrance area and some of the facilities are under construction. The room was not as clean as we would have liked it to be. There was a musky smell at first until we opened the window and aired out the room. There is a set dinner menu that is included in the half board with drinks not included. It is not that close to the attractions.
Mediocre 3.8
Pros: View
Cons: Everything else. Old, run down, construction taking place, air con in room didn’t work. WiFi didn’t work.
Good 6.3
Pros: Staff, the view
Cons: Old dusty looking carpet
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The room was setup nice with a great view of the pool and the Nile River. The staff was very concerned about our experience and comfort during our stay.
Cons: Wifi connection was very slow and not consistent. The pool closing at 6pm is unreal!!! An option would be to post a sign stating "Swim At Own Risk" if there isn't anyone to stand as lifeguard. The ONE restaurant that was available did not have items available that were listed on the menu and the food is at best substandard, however the staff and the rooms were better; everyone was helpful and polite.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: When we arrived we were given a drink while we checked in. The check in process was relatively quick. David the man who served us was very friendly and gave us an AMAZING guide Mr Max (Hussain). The staff were all friendly and happy to help us. They also sat us outside for dinner with our own table as requested. We were upgraded so the room was BIG we had two balconies, a queen size bed and two bathrooms.
Cons: The bath wasn’t completely clean, so had to rinse before use. No safe in the room or we couldn’t find it! The sofa in the room was broken, but you could still use it. There was a few wires sticking out of the wall and the lamps.
Okay 5.8
Pros: The staff were very helpful with our requests including changing our room the second night and trying to sort out their internet.
Cons: Property is a bit dated and the internet was terrible, unable to do anything unless in main lobby, food was just satisfactory.
Good 7.5
Pros: Very accomodating staff
Cons: Very poor internet connection , but staff tried their best to try sort it out
Good 7.5
Pros: Clean and nice view Staff was quite good Showing the direction of prying "qiblha" was very good sign Nice for 2 to 3 days stay not more Ordered a pizza in my room from the Italian restruant was very delicious and not expensive
Cons: Car parking is far from the hotel entrance and it is not paved or well clean ,however it was safe Breakfast menu was a little bit limited ,not alot types of breakfast and drinks Services and food menu shall be inside each room not to call the reception to get it
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very co-operative and friendly hotel staffs
Cons: They never give your change back after you pay... Anywhere in Egypt. May be that's the trend there.

Okay 5.0
Pros: Pool n resto terrace overlooking nile river is very beautiful though
Cons: No change given if it is less than 50 or 100EGP so be prepared with small notes before paying ur drink in bar nor reception. Ceiling of room is very low, very old style interior needs refurbishing. Breakfast staff showed me 5USD bill and asked for tips, he said, "do u have small notes?" I get it if u get scams n hustles throughout luxor on the streets. But not acceptable in a 4-star hotel like this one!!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Beautiful pool over the Nile river, unique and stunning view from our room (superior Nile View). Staff very kind.
Cons: It was sometimes a bit long to get something you asked, like the TV to be fixed for example. But still a good service and a great place to stay.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Everything
Cons: The hotel breakfast area and its staff were totally useless lazy and ignorant.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was super nice. Rooms were clean, food was nice and the people were just sooooo friendly! Very helpful and in general just had a lovely stay.
Good 6.7
Pros: The location is great
Cons: no water in the room if you are staying more than one night. It was nowhere mentioned in the booking page. Not many amenities in the room. The shower was dirty.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The new Syrian restaurant is exceptional. I wish I could eat there every night!
Good 7.0
Pros: Definitely great value and friendly staff.
Cons: Evening time Restaurant services - whilst the food was good, excellent at times, the restaurants lack ambience and are also understaffed.
Good 7.9
Pros: Wonderful location: very near to everything, even Karnak temple easily reached by walking. Very quiet comfortable room, delicious pastry on breakfast
Cons: NO Wi-Fi CONNECTION at all! However it's a must now in every hotel. Here you get some signal but so weak you can't have normal access. Hard uncomfortable bed chairs by the swimming pool, without mattresses. Bad coffee at breakfast and no espresso even for extra money
Okay 5.0
Pros: Nothing special
Cons: There is no drinks in the room like other hotels with the same price. I had to make 2 phone calls to get a bottle of water (negotiations for water :( ) staff is very serious rare smiling.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great staff, friendly & courteous, swimming pool was great, Nile view room on 5th floor great, quite & clean. Buffet lunch & breakfast very good. Supper Nile side restaurant was very nice. Great Value
Cons: The touts on the edge of the hotel property in view of the front door hassling you for taxi ect

Pros: It was in a great location and staff were very helpful.
Cons: The hotel needs renovations and rooms and pool need to be cleaned much better.

Pros: When I was going to bed, after arriving late from the airport, I saw there was only a bootom sheet on the bed and it was dirty. The receptionist kindly helped me to make the bed with fresh sheets at 1am. There was only one small towel as a total endowment. The room was noisy from traffic. Breakfast was poor and the restaurant very gloomy.

Pros: Location and price
Cons: Breakfast

Pros: Loved this location. Very central. Right across the street from Luxor Temple and a quick walk to the ferry to go to the West Bank. Has a very nice rooftop patio and pool too. Also the market is right there too. They were very accommodating and helped with any questions we had.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Staff was amazing. They really did the best job to make their customers happy. Even included later check out for us. Also, they went to station to buy tickets for us. The breakfast was okay and if asked we could get more food.
Cons: I did not like the prices that hotel offered for attractions. I think they are way, way too expensive. I mean 10$ ride for 1km from hotel to see Karnak temple.. and 40$ to visit other side of luxor which in reallity costs 15$. Also I would prefer if staff could learn English a little bit better.. but, everything else was fine.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The location! Luxor Temple and the Avenue of Sphinxes was literally across Susanna Hotel, and beautiful views of the Valley of the Kings and the hot air balloons at sunrise. Luxor Train Station is a short walk from the hotel too. The souk of Luxor is just one block behind the hotel. Plenty of traditional bakeries and felafel shops nearby; there's even a McDonalds at the next block. The staff are very friendly, especially the always smiling Mohareb who spoke English well and attended to our every need and inquiry. Because our train to Cairo was late at night, they allowed us to extend our stay in the rooms for $20, rather than check out at 11am; this allowed us to rest and shower before our overnight train journey.
Cons: Our biggest disappointment was there was no free WiFi in the rooms. Wifi in the rooms was for pay, although I don't know if that promises a good connection. The only free WiFi was in the lobby, but that also didn't work, so I had to use my mobile data. The restaurant service was very slow, whether for breakfast and for any meals, so beware, you might miss your appointments as you wait for your food to come. If you want the room cleaned or towels changed, make sure to hang the 'please clean my room' sign on the doorknob.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The view at Luxor Temple and the great sunset. Early morning you also see the balloons flying from your balcony. Breakfast is served on the top floor and the view is great. Make sure to book your room facing the temple.
Cons: The noise on the street and the fact that they don't have heater in the room. Be prepared to wear warm clothes inside when you go there during winter season.
Mediocre 3.8
Cons: It was awful. The hotel was very nice one many years ago - I stayed there 4 or 5 times. Now it is completely different. They don't have hot water in the morning as they try to save their expenses for electricity. Even the key to the room, which switches on the light in the room worked with huge problems. The "free wi-fi" in the lobby had a terrible connection and was a real torture. If you want the wi-fi in the room you should pay $2 per hour. When you come to the breakfast at 9.30 (half of an hour before the announced end of the breakfast) you can find the area empty because none waits you. How could you imagine thew reply of the staff "everything is finished already"? And, at the end, you have one towel for a room for two persons. The staff is very lazy, very slow and some of them have huge problems with English. So, I highly NOT recommend the hotel to anybody.
Good 7.5
Pros: Staff was great and the view on the upper rooms only is great
Cons: The phone number provided in the application no answer, The air-conditioner in one of two rooms needs repair, swimming pool & the restaurant in the roof out of service.
Excellent 8.5
Cons: Bad pressure in shower
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Magnificent panoramic view from restaurant terrace and swimming pool on the roof. Very attentive and helpful staff. Appropriate food in the restaurant. Ideal for non organized travelers. Very convenient location.

Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The smoking in the lobby is horrible as a non-smoker and even the room smelled like cigarette smoke. The location is very noisy - lots of traffic.

Pros: Breakfast was ok but not much variety. Maybe some fruit. I asked at the reception to call me a tXi6 and I was told that they don't do that.
Cons: Rooms are very old style but ok. There was only a roll if t.p in our toilet and once that was finished I couldn't ask anyone else because there was no one around.

Pros: Staff was friendly, very comfortable bed. Location close to the Nile is nice, good local food and lively market district in walking distance.
Cons: Swimming pool and roof top terrace closes early. Water pressure very low in the bath room.
Okay 4.2
Pros: I stayed on the 6th floor Wich was very nice
Cons: All the lights are turned off so the reception and hallways are very dark and don't feel welcoming. There were dirty towels laying on the ground in my bathroom when I arrived. Shower was cold but for me it was okey. Only low water pressure so you need some time :) I arrived at around 7.30pm and asked the reception where I could eat something. I didn't get an answer. So I went outside and the only thing I could find for a to go meal was kfc. Then I asked about the ferry schedule because I wanted to go to the West Bank the next day. He didn't want to tell me anything and startet to write on his paper that I wanted to book a private taxi from them to the West Bank for 150, without asking anything. He said it was the only way to get there, while I kept saying I wanted to take the ferry (which is around 1egp.) The next day another guy did the same and he tried to push me to do another tour because " it was not okey to go by myself" It felt kinda annoying and not respectfull because they didn't accept what I wanted while I said it like 5 times, and they didn't give me any information I asked for. The next day I checked out and these receptionists where very kind. Not any problems
Okay 4.2
Cons: what they call a garden view is just a balcony seeing backside of neighborhood. place is poor in lighting, not cheerful for tourists and visitors. towels are too old, smelly and pale in color and fabric. toilet is not clean, with lots of yellow spots in corners of everything.
Good 7.5
Pros: 1. They provided very early check-in at no extra cost. 2. The view was amazing from my room and that too at a very reasonable rate. 3. The receptionist was very nice and friendly.
Cons: 1. Breakfast, I felt as if it was a day or two old. 2. As soon as we reached the hotel, one guy out of nowhere greeted me, I thought he was from the hotel and started pitching me the cost for seeing whole Luxor at a cost of 250$. He stayed there until I asked the hotel reception about my room. The hotel reception too, didn't knew the guy as they asked me if I know him from the start. 3. I asked the hotel reception if they can arrange a tour and the guy who worked their said he was the hotel tour guide and he can provide the tour in 200$. When I told him that it was way too much and I will let him know after some time he stood their for like 5 mins looking at my face. 4. When the hotel guy found that I have booked the other guy at a very lower price he started negotiating with me and came to 150$ for the tour. 5. The phone does not work, so if you ask them, they will provide you a number and will ask you to call them from your local phone number.
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Pool and bar Restorant close, only breakfast available downstairs, wifi horrible only in reception, you will pay 27% more just for tax, no taxi service, very poor and bad value for the money
Good 7.1
Pros: The staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is very good and you can see the Nile The room is clean
Cons: The hot water does not work properly The breakfast cost, is extremely exaggerated for the value, better go have a decent breakfast outside. The cleanliness of the restaurant utensils need more care
Good 6.3
Pros: The bed is comfy !! I just use the room to sleep before go to the airport but the installation is like terror movie
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The staff were very friendly, and the hotel was convenient, it's very accessible to all means of transportation, I enjoyed my stay, I would highly recommend the hotel
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at New Pola. My husband and I actually stayed three separate times during our time in Egypt because of the value for money and reliable comfort this place offers. We actually booked the Standard Room with Garden View initially but the staff surprised us when we arrived by upgrading us to Nile View for no extra charge. We later stayed in the Standard Room with Garden View and the Standard Room with City View. The rooms are essentially identical, except for the view from the balcony. The Garden View balcony was quieter and City View balcony faces the Nile but the view is blocked by the trees across the street. The rooms were spacious and well-lit with very comfortable beds. The air conditioning and mini-fridges worked well in all rooms. We had lots of luggage and there was plenty of space for it as well as a folding luggage stand. The view of the Nile river from the Nile View balcony was incredible. There were two chairs and a table in each balcony. The rooftop terrace is spacious with a pool and lounge chairs on the first tier. The view of the city and Nile is unobstructed from the terrace. We saw some incredible sunsets over the Nile. The pool was relatively clean. The morning staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast costs 20 EGP and consists of bread, jam, cheese, yogurt, an omelette, and tea or coffee. The hotel sells bottled water and beer for better prices than you will find even in other low-cost hotels. (Egyptian) Stella was 30 EGP which is the best price we found in Luxor.
Cons: We only have a few small negative comments about this place. We stayed during the slow season/Ramadan and both the upstairs and downstairs restaurants were closed. However, the hotel allowed us to order food to be delivered at the hotel. The umbrellas around the pool are hard to put up. The terrace/pool area was closed and locked nightly around 7:00PM which was disappointing. There's no kettle in the room and a cup of hot water costs ~10 EGP. The hot water did not work well in the Nile View and Garden View rooms we stayed in. The wifi only worked in the lobby. Overall, the positives far outweigh the negatives which is why we chose to keep coming back.
