Andreas working at reception was superb. He would go out of his way to make sure everyone was happy and had what they needed. Beds were extremely comfortable and perfect after a hard week at work! Location as well is perfect a 2min walk if that from Paddington station with easy access across the city and to airports.
Location was good and a short walk from Paddington station as well as numerous bus stops while also a short walk to Hyde Park. People were friendly and helpful. Having hot beverages on tap at reception was also a nice touch. Breakfast was basic but good (everything you’ll need). Eggs are kept separate from meat which makes it easier for people looking for Halal. The staff at breakfast were really friendly and so pleasant every morning (makes you really feel at home!) Also if relevant, rooms in London are generally smaller than normal but the beds here were high enough to store your bags underneath.
The bathrooms. It felt like I’m in an airplane bathroom, it’s cramped and can be claustrophobic: if you’re a large framed person, showering will be a challenge. There are no kettles or amenities in the room (except for the bathroom essentials). There is minimal ventilation in the rooms with a small window that opens minimally. Aircon “mode” is controlled centrally so you cannot change it yourself and need to ask reception to do so.
The staff in the breakfast room was extremely caring. The 24 hour refreshment in the reception was an enterprising touch. It was clean. The drink vouchers is a great idea because we got introduced, and then hooked, to your lovely, lively, pub.
Room 501 was extremely congested. The slanting sharp-cornered walls gave a rude shock when I bumped into one in the darkness of the morning.... Got a bleeding gash on the forehead and injured my fingers..... Would have been a nice gesture from the hotel if,out of consideration for our age, we were given a slightly larger room not on the attic but on a lower floor where we would not have needed to climb the stairs. And the chairs in the dining area were ridiculously designed , again with sharp dangerous edges.
Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, great location
Room has everything you need, but it's SMALL
Good location 5mins away from Paddington Station. Also, breakfast was good and had a variety of choices. Staff are very friendly.
The room ia abit small for two people. Otherwise, all was good.
