Conveniently located near the station
Poor internet unless you paid a premium. A very tired decor
The food on offer (hot and cold alike) was fine except the coffee.
Dire coffee and no fresh fruit. The stopper in the sink in the shower/WC room of my room (No. 241) needs to be repaired - I informed the frint desk, which said they would fix it (and that nobody had mentioned it, so they did not know it was broken).
Location is good - only a three minute walk to the underground and 5 to the railway station. We were able to leave our furniture.
It’s like a youth hostel. Lots of large teenage groups that were noisy and played load music - until I spoke to them but something you shouldn’t expect in a hotel. Breakfast was very basic. Staff were pleasant enough but again more of a youth hostel feel rather than hotel. - for example when we arrived after a day out the person in reception looked at us and didn’t say a word....could have at least smiled and asked if we had a good day. We had two adults and one child and ended up with a five bedded room however three of the beds were pushed together and not much floor space - felt like a dormitory. Shower was small requiring some shuffling round - it’s not in a separate room as such but built into the bedroom. Whole hotel needs an upgrade.....worn carpets etc. There is a lot of noise from the trains but you expect that given the location.
Close to paddington station Convenient
Booked a double room for myself and the wife, ended up with a 6 bed bunk room in the attic, the cheapest room in the hotel, 4th floor 8 flights if stairs. No coffee in the room, no water pressure so the shower was useless. Breakfast mainly consisted of jam swiss roll, custard cream and digestive biscuits. Cold toast plus some ham and cheese.but with the amount of people there these were almost permanently empty. We have used many of these city centre hotels, while this is not the worse, its certainly very low end
Location, very pleasant reception and welcome
The breakfast hostess was rather too formal and I was not told how to obtain English breakfast
