It’s a short walk to Sultanamet Square while still being a quiet neighborhood. The room was very clean and comfortable and breakfast was generous and had a number of options. Will definitely return.

Cons: The transportation were hard, if you are planning of going you have to know that you will be walking all the time. I was traveling with my mom and the location ruined the trip. Metros are always filled, the Streets are old mostly down and up hill so hard to walk there. The taxis don't accept to give shorts rides. We went to Bursa by the fury and we had to walk alot to the hotel. If Google showing 10 min walk there truth it will be 30 min. Also the beds wear smaller than normal single beds

Cons: Two minor complaints: electricity in room only functioned with room key, so you couldn't charge your gear while out of the room; and the only English or American channel on the TV was BBC news, which seemed out of proportion to the several French & Italian channels.

I had a corner room, which was massive and tastefully appointed. The marble bathroom was impressive. The staff is professional and attentive. I’ve wanted to stay at the Pera Palace for a while and it was worth every penny!

Cons: When we arrived to the hotel, the taxi parked in the other side of the road where there was a fence in the middle of the road and was raining. I left my elderly parents with the luggage and went to the reception to get a help. The receptionist said that they do not get luggage from the other side of the road and we had to move them ourselves across the intersection. The breakfast lady was rude. The shower had a very strong sewage smell. Rooms are small. There is a tram that crosses the road in front of the hotel until midnight and while my room wasn't facing the front side, I still could hear it.

Cons: Too noisy, high floor but too too noisy, very hard to sleep, huge traffic all night. Don’t recommend the place unless you want to be at istiklal street. And don’t rent a car if you go to that hotel, nightmare to access and there is not even a spot for drop off... Last killing point is about breakfast, nice view from the terrace but the quality of food is less than average, it’s definitely not a a five star breakfast and too expensive for what it is (I guess the price is linked to the view but definitely not to the quality of the food).

Cons: There was no itemized receipt at the end. Just a bunch of room service receipts they had that they added up by hand. Never in all my years of traveling did I not receive a print out of all the charges and instead was shown a stack of room service orders. The final amount seemed very high to me. BEWARE. Absolutely not acceptable for a hotel such as Radisson Blu. Also we got an executive room and it was extremely small.

Cons: Every thing, facilities and the furniture is old the hairdryer not working, bathroom is stuck the room is very hot No ventilation I cannot breathe, They have maintenance work on the building inside the hotel so it’s very noisy. At the end I canceled my reservation and transferred to another hotel.

Cons: We took two rooms for family of 5. Someone stole our child’s new laptop whilst we we out. We went out for dinner and the housekeeping people came to clean our room. Despite several phone calls to hotel they said they didn’t find it. It is truly disappointing and upsetting supposedly a 5* hotel like this has poor security. I requested they review their security camera and check with the person who cleaned the room. They ignored . I feel this place is unsafe to keep your personal belongings. The bathroom carpets and curtains are old , the bathtub is narrow and very slippery , They were supposed to email me back they didn’t and I would just not recommend this hotel at all for anyone or any family . Reported the case to police . The house keeping staffs are thieves. Luckily we didn’t leave any other valuables .

Pros: The service at the hotel is star quality! The staff were incredibly helpful, interested, friendly and responsive including the duty managers, reception, the concierge desk, dining and cleaning staff. The decor of the hotel is a wonderful combination of modern design with a strong Turkish influence. The food was a good balance between European and Eastern cuisine to cater for all preferences. It was great to be offered festive biscuits and Turkish tea and coffee whenever we were in the reception area. It was cold and rainy so this was such a lovely touch! Special mention has to be made of Turgay, Ilham and Mehmet, the front duty supervisors and staff - they really took their time to explain to us about the area and to give us tips on bargaining, restaurants and local travel, shopping and sightseeing. What a gorgeous team! We loved your kindness and hospitality!

Cons: Ridvan was extremely rude when I arrived. He was on reception. Please teach him how to smile. The last thing you want after a long journey is a grumpy receptionist. He was rude when i checked out too. The rest of the staff were absolutely great.

Pros: The hotel had a fantastic location and one of the most breathtaking views of Istanbul that I've ever seen. We were able to walk to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sofia from this hotel, although it was a lengthy (but enjoyable) walk.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and made every effort to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The reception spoke English and was able to help give us recommendations on places to go and directions to get there. I would absolutely stay here again.

Our trip in Istanbul was for 6 days, and the idea was to find a hotel with an outdoor pool, to be able to get away from the hustle & bustle and chill out every once in a while. I’ve found that most hotels with pool have indoor pools and Hamam's....which is nice… of course... but in the summer heat, an outdoor pool is more what we need... Some of the high end expensive Hotels seem to have it but we didn't want to spend hundreds of $$$ per night...
Anyway, I’ve found and booked the Marmara Pera and wasn't totally sure what to expect. Here our impressions:
Perfect location in an upscale neighborhood, 1 minute from the famous walking street Istiklal, between Taksim square and Galata Tower. The building is the tallest on that hill and it gets you the most stunning views without any obstructions whatsoever. We stayed in room 901 and had a fantastic view over the city and river. Best of all was the sunset because the sun would go down right in the center of the window...absolutely beautfiful.
The pool on the roof is not big but it doesn't matter because you are overlooking Bosporus river, the old town, the blue mosque, the whole shebang. You can overlook all directions from the Rooftop and again, you are on the tallest building around, so no obstructions.

Our local friend mentioned that the restaurant on the Rooftop is excellent but we never actually ate there.
Not sure if the hotel prices were lowered because it happened to be Ramadan or maybe because tourists bought into the terror scare that is rampant ever since 9/11 and stayed away... but we've only paid $80 per night for that room with the sunset view. Btw, there is a metal detector and 24h security at the entrance.
I've visited Istanbul before and I think having a view and a central location is really making all the difference. I will come back here and stay in this very hotel.
One last thing: download the App called BiTaksi and link it with your credit card. It's like UBER but it's what the locals use over here. I started already at the airport and never waited more than 4 minutes for a Taxi. This way, we’ve never had to hackle for price, got rejected because of the destination, or worse...got scammed when paying in cash... and believe me.... Taxi stories were my worst experience on my previous trips to Istanbul.
Love Istanbul, don't get discouraged, help yourself, use technology and Apps to make the most of your trip. Stay open minded, be friendly, stay cool and you will get great things in return.

Cons: Rooftop bar wouldn’t let us look around without buying something first. They advised us that they were not officially part of the hotel - we avoided them for the next 7 days and used the hotel’s own restaurants instead! Much more friendly downstairs than upstairs.

Cons: Arrived at 1345 but no room until 1430. I sat in the lobby for almost 45 mins waiting. I was given excuses ohh we are going yo give you a very special room but need time. It was all lies and in reality my room was not ready. Given room 2001 and when the staff member asked another female colleague to escort me to the room she pulled a nasty face and gave me attitude. At the end someone else took me to the room Now the room was right beside reception and lift, there was so much noise from people walking by and the lift, furthermore I could hear the music from the lobby. The room key mechanism also didnt work and maintenance had to be called. I got fed up of the noise and got moved to 2139. I'm room 2139 there was a connecting door and people in there were smoking and also fighting. At one point the security came up. I could hear profanity all night and this started again in the morning. People next door were physically fighting and using all kinds of nasty swear words. Breakfast was a mess, over crowded, I put my juice down and went to get some food and my table was given to someone else by the time I got back. I also had the pleasure of dealing with the same moody female staff member who refused to escort me to the room the day before. Variety was good but the time I got there around 0930 everything was a mess and people had zero manners pushing in front etc Hotel staff was also very rude and I will include a particular name after making an official complaint to management. I recorded all the fighting and noise and will share that too with management and YouTube. If you want peace and quiet then avoid this hotel. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

Cons: We stayed at Tunel for 5 nights. Our room was fine for 4 nights w dodgy wifi but then for the last night, they moved us to a disgusting and tiny box of a room where the wifi did not work. The room was dark because 2 of the main light bulbs were out. The floor was severely scratched up, wallpaper peeled, plastic headboard deteriorated onto our faces while we slept! It stank like cigarette smoke. The ceiling in the shower was mouldy and dropped wet chunks on us while we were showering. They skimped on towels. The blinds fell down with a loud thud when we opened the window. When I shared these issues with the front desk she offered a one-time free £3 breakfast. I told her I wanted a new room and she said she had none. I looked online and found that they had THREE available rooms. I asked her why she was being dishonest with me and she said it was because she could get more from a client who booked online.

Cons: I don’t think many of these reviews people stayed more than 1 day because a lot of the facilities on my floor were broken. (The lights in 1 bathroom and the toilet seat and shower in the other bathroom) the bathrooms are quite moldy too. the rooms are very cold and they don’t have extra blankets. The room I stayed in wasn’t cleaned for 2 days until the roommate complained. The “kitchen” is between 2 bathrooms and so sometimes doesn’t smell nice. It’s also very small. Just a fridge and a camping stove and some chairs. The worse part of the hostel is the staff. Apart from the Spanish girls both the manager and owner don’t know how to treat people and are not even polite. The staff are very rude and because of their unwillingness to help me I missed a tour I booked. when I complained they said “it is not their problem”. I booked myself at another close by hostel. Please don’t stay here ! You will get a bad impression of the country You can find better hostels and hotels in Istanbul.

Pros: At first when I read negative comments about the location of hotel I wanted to cancel my reservation but I am thrilled that I didn't do that.The fact is that if it is your first time in Istanbul try not to find the location of hotel from Galata because it is kind of tricky in winding streets of Istanbul. The best way to get there is from Halic metro station which is in front of hotel s' Ave, there is a Pilaveci at the beginning of Ave.It only takes you 2minutes to get to your hotel.The surrounding neighborhood is commercial area so it is very safe at night however they close soon and it very quiet at night so you can sleep very well.Thank you so much Mr Galib,the manager of hotel, for your kindness and carrying my luggage and bags up to Halic metro, you made my travel unforgettable.The rooms are spacious and clean.I will definitely come back

Pros: An excellent location; a 7 minute walk from Karakoy Tramway and the Tunnel Station. The tramway goes to SultanAhmet, Serkici, and Grand Bazar. The Tunnel Station goes to Istiklal Street. So you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. There are several local restaurants and grocery stores down the street. The guys at the front desk are cool, helpful, down to earth, and respectful. I stayed at the single room; It isn’t that big but TBH its not too bad for one person. It has a mini fridge, TV, bedside table, and a desk. The hotel gives off an industrial and vintage kinda vibe. It is clean, quiet, and safe. They have 24 hour front desk help. The only two problems I had were the size of the shower room. It was so tiny but clean, new, and has hot water all the time. But in their defense, I am 1.90 cm and weigh 115 kg. So if you are small or mid sized, you’re good. The second problem is that the bathroom has a sliding glass door overlooking the bed which was a bit odd and out of the ordinary to me personally. But truth be told, it looks modern and stylish. Other than that, everything, from room service/cleanliness, ambiance, safety, location, and customer service was very good.

Pros: At first when I read negative comments about the location of hotel I wanted to cancel my reservation but I am thrilled that I didn't do that.The fact is that if it is your first time in Istanbul try not to find the location of hotel from Galata because it is kind of tricky in winding streets of Istanbul. The best way to get there is from Halic metro station which is in front of hotel s' Ave, there is a Pilaveci at the beginning of Ave.It only takes you 2minutes to get to your hotel.The surrounding neighborhood is commercial area so it is very safe at night however they close soon and it very quiet at night so you can sleep very well.Thank you so much Mr Galib,the manager of hotel, for your kindness and carrying my luggage and bags up to Halic metro, you made my travel unforgettable.The rooms are spacious and clean.I will definitely come back

Pros: An excellent location; a 7 minute walk from Karakoy Tramway and the Tunnel Station. The tramway goes to SultanAhmet, Serkici, and Grand Bazar. The Tunnel Station goes to Istiklal Street. So you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. There are several local restaurants and grocery stores down the street. The guys at the front desk are cool, helpful, down to earth, and respectful. I stayed at the single room; It isn’t that big but TBH its not too bad for one person. It has a mini fridge, TV, bedside table, and a desk. The hotel gives off an industrial and vintage kinda vibe. It is clean, quiet, and safe. They have 24 hour front desk help. The only two problems I had were the size of the shower room. It was so tiny but clean, new, and has hot water all the time. But in their defense, I am 1.90 cm and weigh 115 kg. So if you are small or mid sized, you’re good. The second problem is that the bathroom has a sliding glass door overlooking the bed which was a bit odd and out of the ordinary to me personally. But truth be told, it looks modern and stylish. Other than that, everything, from room service/cleanliness, ambiance, safety, location, and customer service was very good.

Pros: Very good location, where you can reach both sides of Haliç also by foot. Nice interior, friendly and helpful staff, all the needed basic things like hairdryer, coffee and tea all day long, breakfast included. For the price payed it was wonderful and totally worth it.
Cons: There was no door In the bathroom, it was missing, but the reception was ready to change the room for us. Minor things - no shelf in the shower to put shower gel and shampoo, not enough hooks for towels, only one side table by a double bed, which made one person put things on the floor next to the bed. If the breakfast had a whole grain bread and a real bean coffee, it would be just perfect;) And just be prepared that if it’s rainy, all the city water comes down the slopes to the hotel location and you can’t go out! We went out and soaked and drowned till over knee height! Better wait inside:) As for the rest, the hotel is really nice and made us satisfied, and contributed to our enjoying Istanbul! Thank you!

Pros: Breakfast - typical Turkish cold buffett with a couple of hot items each morning Bottles of water, coffee and tea always available at no extra cost Bedding changed most days and towels changed everyday if required and rooms cleaned well each day Beds very comfy Aircon kept the room at a good temperature and at no extra charge Trams were only a 10 min walk away and very cheap to travel on
Cons: There is a club close by, no fault of the hotels. One night was extremely noisy however, because i had requested a quiet room, once the window was shut I didn't find the noise too disturbing. Generally the area is full of steep hills but again no fault of the hotel Taxi's often found the hotel difficult to find which became less of a problem once i'd found my way around as were able to direct the taxi

Pros: From the first moment of our arrival it became clear for us why this hotel has such bad reviews...1. the taxis cannot approach the entrance of the hotel, and you had to walk about 200 meters to get to the entrance of the hotel. 2. The front desk receptionist girl was extremely rude to us...she was turning her eyes in a rude way...3. we had to wait until the last minute to check in to our room since it was not ready even at 13:55...while check in time was 14:00....and you could obviously see that the half of the hotel was empty since there were many free rooms on the booking. 4. The sealing of the old building are made of wood, and they make very strange and scary noises when someone walks on the upper floor. 5. The spa is not as nice as it seems on the photos. The breakfast room is nor really interesting it has just a nice view if you manage to sit by the window. The breakfast has a good variety and that’s probably the only + of the overpriced hotel.

Pros: The hotel is in great location. The room is very spacious, the bed is comfortable and the buffet breakfast offers a good spread. What I like the most is, the Guest Relations Manager, Ms. Saida went the extra length in making sure our stay is a memorable one as it was our annual anniversary celebration trip. Not only our room was upgraded, it was decorated and we had a welcoming fruits, titbits and a cake. It was a very pleasant surprise indeed. Thank you and kudos to the team.

Cons: Although I asked for higher floor and I validate that one day before my stay, I got a room in the second floor. I felt I slept in the street, it was very noisy!! Then within my stay they always claimed they don't have a higher vaccant room. Also, they're not providing tea/coffee & cups everyday, unless you ask for it explicitly. Also, the elevator is way too slow. I paid more than 100$ per night, definitly bad value for money!!

Pros: This hotel is one of the friendliest and cleanest I have ever stayed at. In addition tho this the super helpful and friendly staff go above and beyond to help you. The location is amazing and things such as sulimenye mosque and grand bazaar are on walking distance. It is right next to the tram stop which is around 12-25 mins from a haggis Sophia and Blue mosque . Crowne Plaza in Fatih Old City I will be back.

Pros: The hotel is one of the nicest I’ve stayed in around the world. It has a nice relaxed ambiance about it. Staff are mostly polite and friendly. The location is convenient in a nice neighborhood. Reception area is big and provides comfort that once you step foot inside you can feel it’s a safe haven in the very busy Istanbul. It hosts several shops and a cafe. Rooms are lovely, not small. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom was big, clean and had basic toiletries. I would definitely stay at the Wyndham Old City Istanbul again in the future.

Cons: Upon approaching the reception we were informed that their was a problem with our booking because it didn’t show on the hotel’s system. They suggested we contact Kayak or hotels.com to solve our problem. They didn’t offer to help us by contacting them themselves although we showed them the confirmation we had several times. To be fair, once we sorted out the issue with the reservation, they upgraded our room and offered a discount on breakfast.
One of the chairs in the room had many stains on it. It looked clean but with hard-to-remove-stains. I think it’s beneath the Wyndham station to keep a stained chair in a guest’s room. The carpet had few stains as well.

Cons: Only one thing I didn't like, the bathroom smells like someone was smoking in it and the smell stayed for the whole 6 nights I stayed in the hotel. I guess it's a ventilation system problem.
