Pros: The room was very nice and the comfortable. We ate at the Kani Ka Pila Grill 2 evenings and for 1 breakfast. Everything we ate was very good and the service was good. The Mai Tais were awesome. Be sure to go for Happy Hour, great food and drink prices with live entertainment. There is more live entertainment in the evenings.We heard 3 different groups and all were excellent.
Cons: We were disappointed in the Shore Bird Restaurant. The mai tais were so good at the grill that we ordered them here and were very disappointed. We regretted ordering the buffet. It was okay but not for what we paid (even considering island prices. Can only hope ordering off the menu would be better. It is very difficult to walk in the water in front of the hotel, water shoes are highly recommended. we later learned that just down the beach it was a sandy bottom. Wish someone had shared that with us,

Cons: We paid for a ocean front view sweet and got stuck with a hotel view of the other side of the hotel. The room was made for handicapped people and there was nothing sweet about it. I paid an extra 200 dollars for an oceanfront view and I feel like a got screwed. Also they charged me 38 bucks for parking and 31 dollars on a resort fee, and the hotel that was suppose to be on Wikiki was actually on a different beach. This was our last night on our honeymoon and the hotel sent me an email at midnight to with them about the room and I didnt see the email till the next day when we had no time to talk due to the flight we needed to catch. Also the shower head was busted and it took over 20 minutes to get our rental car from the valet.

Pros: Located right on the beach with plenty of activities avail. Much more secluded and private compared to downtown. I think this location is more upscale compared to the other Outrigger Beach. We did have a great view of the pool and could leave the door open for the lani then listen to the nightly entertainment. Everything to eat and shop is in walking distance. They were very welcoming upon arrival with a cool towel and a mango drink. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. This is for sure my go-to place in Waikiki.
Cons: The only think I could say.... Would be the servers poolside. I gave him my money and it took about 15/20 mins before he came back with my drink.... I ended up going to the bar myself the rest of my stay and the bartenders were excellent, friendly, quick, and much better.

Pros: The staff was friendly and very helpful. They truly accentuated the Aloha spirit. The hotel is beautiful and centrally located in Waikiki near the new International Marketplace with lots of restaurants and shopping to choose from.
Cons: The pool is 18” deep. So it’s not meant for swimming.

Cons: Hotel I found did not match up to the exterior picture and is so very different from the other local Hilton. It is away from the beach and in a busy road traffic area away from attractions. Ocean view room is from a distance over parking lots and between buildings. In room WiFi is about $10 a day and no buffet breakfast or bathrobe.

I had booked the least inexpensive room I could find, so enquired about getting an ocean view, and was thrilled when Jinny found a room on the top floor with views of ocean,pool,and city. ise" in the background was easily acclimated to. Superbly helpful valets, bellpeople, customer service. Few tiny bumps, but wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Breakfast buffet typical, but was happy to see it well staffed to keep tables and areas clean. PS really liked their biz center, gym and laundry (always like hotels that don't charge for printing a few pages or faxing).

Pros: I actually like the location. Smack dab in the middle of a lot of the areas we went to. The room was fairly cozy and nice and spacious for the king suite. The appliances were not new of course but they were good and functional. For example the fridge wasn't stainless but wasn't expecting that, but it does get cold. Bed is very comfy, no problems falling asleep after a long day of walking. AC was functional and can get cold, multi-function. Helped with the dehumidifier and fan function. Gave us a DVD kiosk that was included in the room stay. Loved the small pond by the front desk, little turtles and large koi. One thing I loved was we booked our stay in a suite and it came with 2 full size beds. Went down and asked if we can get a king bed and since the rooms arent available to change beds, they gladly changed Ros for us. Did a great job accommodating our needs! All in all, we enjoyed our stay.
Cons: A serious upgrade on their wireless is needed. There is a wireless in each room which is nice but it likes to cut off waaaay too much. If you want a large pool, you won't find it here. We didn't end up going to Hawaii to swim in a hotel pool so it didn't effect our stay. Since the hotel is in the middle of the city, won't really matter where you stay, the view wasn't great.

Pros: I booked the room through Kayak for $1000 ‘Total.’ When I arrived I was informed there was an additional $225 ‘resort free.’ When I protested the receptionist said I was threatening and she felt unsafe and that she would not check me in though I had already paid. She said since I had booked through Kayak it wasn’t her problem and I’d have to figure out how to get my money back. When I demanded refund due to refusal of service she threatened to call the police. I said that was fine and waited five minutes for the police to arrive. During this whole time she stood two feet away from me obviously not feeling at all threatened. Then we went through the process of filing a police report which was great. I ended up staying at Coconut Hotel down the street without incident which I would recommend. It took me about an hour phone call with the booking agency to get my money back from Aqua. Absolutely terrible experience with Aqua Oasis.

Pros: This hotel is a great value for the money. It is walking distance from restaurants, bars and shopping. It's very clean and includes a couple little extras (PS3 in room, DVD rentals, continental breakfast). Parking is available for a fee. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to relatives and anyone who comes to visit me here in Hawaii.
Cons: My car was towed after being valet parked. It was a big hassle the morning it happened because I had to go pick it up myself and I missed an appointment. But the manager and the valet who discovered the issue were both pro-active in taking care of everything. They both called to follow-up the next day. They paid the taxi to the towing place, reimbursed my towing fee and refunded the parking fees I had paid and gave me a goody bag and gift certificate for a future stay. I definitely feel like I was compensated for the inconvenience caused and because of the way they handled the situation I will likely be back again.

Pros: The location of the hotel is about the best thing I can say about the place. It was about two blocks from the beach.
Cons: The room we had was extra small and behind the elevator. The 'view' was of another side of the hotel which had balconies (we did not) and a view of Diamond Head (we did not). In a room within our 'view' and about two floors down the people in that room had a really good time partying out there. Between the elevator and the party, sleeping was rough. In addition the towel rack in the bathroom fell apart. Finally, they charged 25.00 a day to park there. Self parking was not an option, only valet parking. If you wanted to self park you had to find a place on the street and pay the meter or in a 'lot' across a very busy street.

Pros: The hotel itself is quite beautiful. Though there is a very small pool, the pool deck is very comfortable and private. There is a fabulous view of Diamond Head on the beach. It's also not a mega hotel, so the number of people wasn't too overwhelming. The delicious muffins were a very nice touch, as well as the staff attention on the pool deck. Great location.
Cons: Our room seemed small. There were too many reasons we had to call for help, including repairs to the room and keys not working. All resolved, but annoying. I don't think a hotel of this caliber should be having these kind of problems. The price tag is very steep and I wasn't convinced it was worth it.

When we called the front desk, we were advised they were completely booked and had no rooms available elsewhere. (We looked online and it did indicate there were rooms available for the night in a better location.) We were told we would be upgraded to a partial ocean view, but not until the next night. Also, there is an additional $30 charge per night for staying at that location, we were not advised of that until we were checking in. We also had to pay an additional $47 per day for valet parking which we also were not advised of until we checked in. The rooms are run down and carpets are old. In the high traffic areas the carpet had creases in spots, enough to cause us to trip. We had a negative encounter with one of your valets, we lost the valet ticket that was on the key, when we returned, they made a big deal of it, told us that we should have kept it on the key ring. Not good customer service especially after charging $47 per day!!!. This is a Marriott Resort and we booked it because of the name and our expectations were not even remotely met... Marriott should evaluate this location, both the desperate need of renovation and some of the customer service. If it's not going to be renovated soon, then charging appropriate hotel/motel rates and advertise appropriately.

Pros: I liked the location. It's right next to the mcdonalds if you're hungry for a cheap meal, especially if you don't want to spend $35 for the breakfast buffet that they offer at the hotel. But if you get a free deal for the breakfast buffet if you book through Expedia or a third party website , it's definitely worth it. There's a parking garage connected to the hotel but it'll cost you $25/night. It's also super close to the Hyatt and international market. And the beach is 1 min walk. You just have to cross a stoplight. Diamond Head and the zoo are close too. I would uber to diamond Head if it's later in the day cuz parking can go fast. But the zoo is walkable.
Cons: There's a hidden resort fee that you pay $20 a night for. But my question was, where's the resort? The clerk was like, "this is the resort." But he wasn't clear that the "resort fee" included beach towels and beach chairs. There's a LOT of construction going on. It doesn't bother me so much, but it might bother you. There's no pool, but the hotel does have access to the Hilton's pool next door. But I was just swimming at the beach the whole time. All the "resort" amenities are basically under construction/refurbishment- like the aquarium with restaurant and tennis courts. So the only thing was I was paying a resort fee when the stuff for the resort aren't even available. I feel like they should have just waived the resort fee.

If you book an Ocean-front room on a higher floor in the Eastern-most tower, you'll have the classic view most can only dream of from your balcony or even inside the room. Besides the obvious beach across the street, within a few blocks walk, you'll find dozens of restaurants and high-end shops, as well as the Honolulu bus transit line. Timely response to the only need we presented was commendable. Wifi worked well, also.

Cons: We wanted to get away for the weekend in our city so we stayed at the Hilton. They did not offer any specials for locals which was a little disappointing. The handicap elevator near the garage was broken which greatly affected our comings and goings from the car with a wheelchair and a stroller. The room was nice and quiet and clean but the elevators were hectic and small. The pool was nice, but I noticed trash and junk in the bushes. The lifeguards were good but they would yell "HEY, get down", from across the pool. I guess they had forgotten that the kids were also paying guests. Public pool lifeguards are more polite and quiet. It was not as relaxing as I had hoped and just because of the inconveniences and yelling and high traffic in the elevators.

The elevator was rickety. The room itself wasn't bad. Big bed, but thankfully there were 5 pillows because they were totally flat. There was a fridge, that almost kept water semi-chilled if you kept it in the freezer part. There was a tiny air conditioner, on the floor that almost kept the room manageable. There was a great balcony, however, you couldn't leave the door open to get the good breeze because there was no screen. The bathroom was minuscule, and clearly had seen better days. The paint was coming off of the ceiling and everything needed an update. Oh and the best part, if you are going there to have a romantic evening, that is good, because there is only one tiny lamp in the room with a really dim bulb for mood lighting. However if you are trying to read a map or make plans for the next day, you better doing during daylight because that one pitiful lamp wasn't enough to read anything. Overall, the place was clean, there were no bugs, for the most part you couldn't hear other people, and once you found the hotel, the location was great. So if you just need a place to crash while you are staying on the island doing other things, it is worth staying. If you are going there for the great things the hotel has to offer, you might want to try elsewhere.

Pros: I took this hotel almost as a last minute decision for my business trip. The staff are excellent, very cordial, helpful, gave me a detailed idea about dining, moving, taking transport and even provided changes. However, beware the hotel charges around $11 every night, (for internet which is below par, a newspaper focusing on Hawaiian news only and a coffee machine with Hawaiian coffee that I never tried) whether you want those amenities or not and irrespective of the type of room you stay or site you book through (priceline, hotwire, expedia, anything). The hotel has a tiny family friendly pool on the 4th floor. The location is terrific, most buses stops there, and everybody knows the hotel by name, the beach is just 10 minutes walk, and the whole shopping area starts after the hotel and beyond. Caution: PLEASE DON'T GET FOOLED BY THE PICTURES OF THE ROOMS YOU SEE, those are only on the top floors, other rooms are much smaller and with less amenities. If anybody has the time please say that to hotwire and Expedia, thanks.

Cons: The advertisement was two doubles/queens (I'm not sure which) or King size bed. When I got to the hotel, of course they only had the room with two queens for my wife and I. This seems to be common trend for Waikiki because I had the exact same experience at another hotel.

Pros: Location was nice. And easy to get too. also the guys working the parking garage were awesome.
Cons: The room was trash. Beds were old and as hard as rocks. Carpets looked like they may have died. Bathroom had the feeling of black mold growing. I wasted gd money on what looked like a great deal. The A/c also needed repair work and a cleaning. I shouldn't have paid more than fifty dollars a night for that place.

Cons: After I booked my room and got my confirmation from hotels.com through kayak.com, I was surprised when I checked in and was charged a $10 resort fee they call it. This includes the use of a safe coffee maker ironing board and Wi-Fi. All of this is usually free and most hotels now everybody is charging for it.

Cons: Staff was not organized and not caring. They gave key to our room to other guests. I don't know if it's good or bad we were in the room at the time. Assuming they only did it once. A hotel employee even tried to let people in. Hint - new, empty rooms don't have the Do Not Disturb sign hanging on the door. They called us twice after 11PM trying to sort out their mistake in booking.. I complained to staff, no reaction. When i was checking out, they didn't ask how my stay was, otherwise i would've complained again. BTW, there were 4 workers just standing there when i checked out, so it's not like they were rushed. Small gym, small pool, big resort fee. Still have to pay $30/night for parking. Make sure you add $60+/day to your expected price your paying. Two sets of keys stopped working at the same time. they claim they both got demagnitized. 2 sets of keys kept in separate places at the exact same time? they screwed up. They didn't clean the room every day, even when empty from 6am-12. Bathroom stank of mildew. Safe didn't close reliably. Hair dryer only worked on 2 of 3 settings. We didn't get our welcome bag of sunscreen until second day of our stay, again pointing out they screwed up in the system. Refrigerator froze all liquids inside, not just in the icebox. No way to adjust it. Lots of drunk biker gang guys at the pool bar at night. They staggered into our private party. They have a weird elevator system where you have to press your room key and punch in the floor outside the elevator. there's no buttons inside. and you can't go from the rooms to the ground level. you have to stop at the 3rd floor in either direction. The first day i was confused and i asked the staff how to get to the ground floor, he told me i had to valet. i said i just want to get to the parking area and he just kept telling me i have to valet and pointed to the lobby. Elevators were broken every night.

Cons: 100% not a 4-star hotel, 1000% would not book again. Facilities are worn, tired, and much different than advertised--rooms are bare, with damaged furniture and the advice from other reviewers about needing flip-flops for the bathroom floors? Follow it. After asking to switch rooms because we booked a king, not a double room, we were told none were available. After complaints about state of the bathroom's floor and old toothpaste globbed all over the sink, the front desk was able to "pull some strings" and landed us in the room we originally booked, with a cleaner sink and marginally cleaner floor. Other guests were listening at this point, so I suspect that helped. After being frank with the front desk about our dissatisfaction with the bathroom (see below) We finally ended up in an "Ocean View" room, which was the exact same room with the exact same problems. Rooms are spatially adequate, but only include a bed and bar-height tables with stools--nowhere to comfortably sit. Bathrooms are barely serviceable, with towel racks, shower rods, etc. visibly pulling out of the walls. Caked-on dirt in the shower made it feel vaguely unsanitary, and once-white tiled floors were full of broken tiles, and grout stained with mold? urine? dirt? left me wishing I had brought those flip flops. The entire space has also clearly been painted over and over again, adding to the college-dorm feeling. Towels are scratchy and often have stains on them, as do the sheets. The worst part of the rooms was the sliding door/window system--our own door rattled and banged whenever one of our neighbors closed their doors. I was woken up at all hours of the night to what sounded like someone trying to break into our room, when in reality someone was just stepping outside. On-site parking is mandatory valet at ~$47/day+tax, considerably higher than surrounding properties after a quick web search. Valet is understaffed, so factor +15-25 min just to get your car. You'll also be forced into paying ~$39/day+tax "Resort Fee," for which you will receive absolutely no value. Even as they advertise that this covers all manner of services, good luck actually finding the amenities to enjoy. The only info given about these is on a slide which displays for 2 seconds every few minutes by the front desk (see photos). What we found was a motel masquerading as a high-rise hotel, with rooms that made me nostalgic for my old college dorm. I will caveat that all staff we spoke to were kind and polite, if not necessarily the most helpful. Despite our complaints about the bathroom, we heard no acknowledgement about our concerns, but were just continually offered an upgraded room with a view (an ocean view does not make up for the decrepit bathrooms). Staff's positive attitudes are not nearly enough to overcome the quality of the service and accommodations offered by the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel.

Cons: My wife fell, while holding our daughter, while getting into the pool on a very slippery first step. Two other guests told us about their similar experience during their stay. It was our first day of our vacation and my wife spent the week with a bruised spine and a big scratch. The Aston took pictures of her injury but did nothing about it.

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located right across the Waikiki beach, with a lot of great restaurants and boutique shops near by. There are also big shopping centers in the neighborhood.
Cons: Other than location, Aston doesn't have much to offer. We were really disappointed at the service as front desk staffs are not so friendly and helpful. I booked a Partial Ocean View room with king size bed, but they gave us a standard room with 2 double size bed. Mandatory unwanted additional service package deals are also added with a charge. The way how the hotel operated made us feel like Aston is "Cheap".

Cons: The actual room we are staying in is smallish and dated, but the location is pretty decent - south end of Waikiki nearer to Diamond Head. Probably rates as 4 stars, but I have to demote it because of the aggressive timeshare people patrolling their lobby to intercept guests. After a long 13+ hours of travel, we arrived exhausted to be greeted by a young lady literally right off the elevator opening onto the lobby floor. She promised to help us get settled and seemed to be someone with the hotel. In fact, she works for Diamond Resorts, a company trying to re-brand timeshare scams into modern points-based vacation packages. What we thought was the hotel helping us get checked in and settled turned into a sales pitch about discounts on various tours, etc. if we just attended a presentation the next morning. The presentation was pitched as 2 hours, and no obligation, etc. We were pretty dazed from the travel and they were talking about saving hundreds of $ for a short presentation, so we agreed to this. You can (and should) google Diamond Resorts and educate yourself about them, and that's another story. We didn't buy anything, but they used super aggressive sales tactics and eventually basically insulted us for not agreeing to play ball and part with several thousand dollars on the spot. Here's the rub - as I was (later) researching Diamond Resorts, some of the cautionary tales about them I read were from people ambushed at other Aston properties - Maui, etc. So, I canned my plan to complain to the manager here, because clearly they condone, if not support, the Diamond Resorts people. Not sure, they might even be owned by the same private equity firm (Apollo). So, I recommend avoiding all Aston properties, as they allow their guests to be harassed and ambushed by overly aggressive scam artists.

Pros: The staff was amazing! They made sure that we had everything that we needed. They held our bags after check out and placed my friend's medicine in the fridge for her until we got back to the hotel. They gave us local recommendations. There was a bar and restaurant in the hotel. They offered floats and beach gear including towels for free if available. It is a 5min or less walk to the beach and to the main strips.
Cons: The breakfast was free, which was great, but didn't offer much and there were flies because everything is so open. I love the open atmosphere, but not around my food. The soap was great, but the hair stuff was an all in one.

Cons: It was very hard to find, as there is nothing labling it and if you rent a car, expect to shell out an additional $20-30 for off site parking, as the hotel's parking is basically non-existant. The room was NOT clean. There was hair ALL across the walls in the bathroom, and not just in the shower. The walls are SUPER thin, so you hear EVERYTHING! This includes the people in the corridor, the street traffic, but most especially the bloody karaoke joint in the lobby. We could not sleep. Additionally, the bed bounced if you so much as moved a toe. Pay a little more and stay at the Hyatt across the street.

Cons: they claim to have parking, NOT! they only have 7 spaces on a first come first serve basis. the hotel pictures must be from another hotel, there are no photos that match the hotels, it is rundown, dirty, my room was so small my son and I had to take turns moving around and you had to leave the door open in the bathroom to use it. the sink was the size of a salad bowl. ridiculous!! the staff were rude, there is no place to park while you check in, and no where near the hotel to park for a reasonable fee. I'd never stay here again.

Pros: The outside is very decieving from the inside. The outside looks not at all impressive and very motel like. Its seems run down and very low class. But when you step inside i was impressed by the all white room and furniture. There was one bed for two, a futon for two, plus a foldup rolling mattress. I also liked the mini fridge as well. The lobby looks very high class and sophistic.
Cons: There was a lack of an iron & ironing board which I deem as a standard supply object in a hotel room. The place could also use a microwave as well.

Cons: I wouldn't have hated this place were it not misleadingly advertising. I HATE feeling like a hotel is trying to trick me, as I don't trust them afterwards. Our room was nothing like it was pictured. The mattresses were on the floor, the shower was falling apart, the room had no space to move, and the wifi didn't work. They tacked on fees for things we didn't use and refused to upgrade us to the room that was advertised, even after I offered to pay more for it. Won't stay again and can't recommend until they learn to advertise honestly.

Pros: I really wanted to love this hotel. When you walk in the main floor is setup with several leather like couches, hammock chairs, LCD TV, 2 computers and printer, tea and coffee available all day with a modern look. Friendly faces at the counter doing their best. My low score reflects the several attempts I made to resolve issues on our week stay where the staff and management failed. (1) The staff seem ill prepared to answer questions about the area. It is my expectation that the hotel should have some ideas about the restaurants and attractions in their area. Many AIRBNB hosts have lists of places and instructions to get there. In our case we asked about a place 2 blocks and 7 minutes away (Marukame Udon restauarant) highly rated on Yelp. The two people could not figure out how to get there even thought they knew it was always busy. Ended up finding our way there. (2) When we used the shower for the first time we noticed the shower head was not fully turning on (RM 407 I believe). Hot water was going to the head and very little cold water. A third of the water flowed through the tap. We reported this 3 times to the front desk. The third time i went up to the room with maintenance person and demonstrated the issue. I was nicely told that they could not do anything about this. It was known by maintenance that the fixture were old. There was no concern that someone could get scalded from hot water. (3) Room cleaning service was poor. The sink and bathrub were never cleaned the week I was there. I ended up cleaning it myself as their were bits of paint flaking off and the sink was not draining correctly. As far as I could tell towels were changed, garbage were emptied and beds made. No change when i left sign out to clean. Finally I did ask twice to talk to a manager about my experience (first attempt 3 days before i left). No one contacted me. Our last day I got an e-mail asking for feedback. As a result I posted this review. I am disappointed that staff did not block this room so it could be repaired and provided another. My advice when booking here is that you fully inspect the room. I've never had to be this detailed before as I expect some common sense by the hotel. But in this case they are just filling rooms. Cons: Everything all of there photos are doctored it's a dirty hostile type hotel no amenities no room service or food pump dispenser soap and shampoo in the bathrooms. The Windows do not close they are slotted so you hear all of the trash collectors and anything going on outside. The place is horrible.

Cons: There were bugs in the shower. The bathroom was so small I couldn't turn around without bumping into the door. There was a raid repellant device on the floor. There were also bugs crawling across the bedroom floor. After checking in to the hotel I got in the shower. As soon as The water was on bugs just started crawling out the drain and from top of the ceiling. I counted at least 6 and took pictures of each. I got out immediately and saw another critter scurry across the bedroom floor. I went to check out immediately. The hotel offered to "waive" the amount for the next two nights but refused to refund the first night since I had checked in already. Absolutely ridiculous. I was there less than 2hrs before discovering the bugs and immediately leaving. I wound up booking a hotel that was twice the cost because I was stranded without a clean place to stay.
