Cons: Only bar meals being served with limited choice so ate out.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and grounds are stunning. The staff are lovely and helpful. The rooms are beautiful, clean and well decorated. Our room (number 5) was spread across two floors of the tower connected by a stone spiral staircase, loved this layout. It was like living in a fairytale. Lovely surprise finding a social space for guests with a pool table, few board games and books about the hotel. Good selection of drinks at bar and not extortionate prices.
Cons: Huge gorgeous bathroom let down by a shower with little power and no heat. Vegetarian/vegan/gluten free/ other dietary requirements not clear on menus and also limited choice. We ended up going to a pub down the road with more options. £15 per person far too excessive for the bog standard breakfast received. Didn't sleep well as mattress was as soft as a marshmallow though that's more about preference.

7.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were clean and tidy.
Cons: Although the hotel itself was clean and our room(s) were tidy, we had to move because of outside noise. Unfortunately it was out of the pan into the fryer! I think this hotel ought to relate to its customers how much disturbance there is at night from the very close neighbouring nightclubs. Two of them open until 0300hrs I dont think that EARPLUGS for the customers is at all sufficient!
7.0 Good
Pros: Room was spacious enough and clean and staff were very friendly and helpful Location was perfect
Cons: Room was basic
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The Ibis is in a superb, town-centre location. My room was well-equipped with a large, comfortable bed and a bright, modern bathroom. All of the room facilities were immaculately clean. The breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of both cooked foods and cereals etc. A particularly valuable feature was the large spacious car park, which was one of the best I've used.
Cons: I was provided with a plastic door key which didn't open my room door. After a long trip of over 200 miles, I could have done without that.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was good. did not have breakfast
Cons: Everything was ok

9.0 Excellent
Pros: location was brill
Cons: that we could not reserve a table in the bar at any time for food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historic hotel, on the Carlisle Town Center. Has the Wow! factor! Good price per night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Food, cleanliness shopping
Cons: Cost
4.2 Okay
Pros: I'm not prone to negative reviews--but felt compelled to write this one. The staff is terrific--but otherwise this is a vaguely dirty, slightly gross, mediocre hotel. Breakfast was badly done and in a large ballroom with dozens of pensioners on holiday. The room was badly stained, unkempt, with one of the worst beds I've encountered in over a million miles of traveling. Avoid if possible.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very accomodating. I had an issue at home and wasn't sure if I could make it. They were very professional and very comforting. Would definitely recommend.
Cons: Think the pool area could do with being tidied up a little bit. Doesn't really feel in keeping with the rest of the property and the bathroom could of done with being a bit cleaner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely, full of charm. Very central in the city.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect , big bed, very comfortable , staff friendly
Cons: Busker outside the hotel v.early on Saturday morning singing. Other than that, no complaints.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A splendid once opulent place with historical reveals of its grand past.
Cons: Loose the heavy drapes and carpets, enable it to meet current minimalist trends whilst still retaining its glamour.

Pros: The staff who worked in the shop and a clean bed.
Cons: Room was very basic really needing updating FAST. You could see the outside through the curtains they were that thin. Bar closed at 1.30pm and cafe so no where to eat or get a drink so had to walk about half an hour to find food and drinks. This motel is badly needing done up. Even the furniture in the bedroom was absolutely done in

Pros: 1st time staying and I’ll stay again soon. Comfy and clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We always stop here when travelling down to England, always feel welcome, they love the dog, everything is clean and tidy. The room had obviously had a redecorate done on it and it was laid as we had asked for (the bathroom being on the right as you enter) so they listen to you when you request something
Cons: you might think a truck stop would be noisy ~ you would be wrong we found nothing wrong with the place. Always good here

Pros: Amazing location overlooking the River Eden with a walk you can do through the grounds along the river bank past the walled garden which is delightful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved Boots the dog! Food was delicious and the rooms downstairs were well presented and comfy with lots of interesting books and magazine to look at. Bedroom was lovely - large and inviting. We both slept very well.
Cons: Nothing we didn't like!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Waking up and looking out onto the river! Was relaxing and informal and friendly
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and use of the fine reception rooms was perfect. Lovely walks by the river and to the walled garden. Our bathroom was magnificent, totally modernised and with separate bath and spacious shower. Water was HOT! Very nice welcome, too, which makes such a difference. Needed to have booked dinner in advance but a lively pub did the job. Would have been better to know of the possibility of dinner at Warwick Hall, though.
Cons: Can't honestly think of anything!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The walk around the River was amazing and Oscar the gardener in the walled garden was very friendly and welcoming ... the house itself is old and dated but well kept and clean A lovely stay for an overnight Thank you

Pros: The food was excellent. We had tea and homemade shortbread on arrival. The evening meal was delicious, I had the steak pie which was particularly good. Breakfast was adequate but not as special as some other reviews had suggested.
Cons: The smell of the oil-fired AGA was a little strong in parts of the hotel, including our room. No other complaints.
