Restaurants, swm pool, bars, good and more.
The gym. Need more space and machines. More shows too.
Pothos everywhere! Sensory architecture. Ocean front, many pools to choose from, each pyramid is scented differently, spa is fantastic, massage was incredible, all staff is kind and attentive. Maria in Royal is very sweet and did lots of extras for our anniversary, Orlando in the Royal restaurants is a fellow rocker and always went out of his way to say hi to us everywhere. Ramon and Cesar are notable staff as well. The restaurant Tempo (not included) is the best meal we’ve ever had. Royal service has its own bar and buffet, we started and ended there many times. Lots of information and help everywhere. They will call cabs for you super easily (there within 2min) and R2 bus up and down the strip and downtown is right outside, frequent and cheap (12 pesos pp). Nobody trying to sell tours, photos, etc in Royal Service- just in the main areas
Pyramids can be confusing to get around at times. Floor 1 in main buildings connects to floor 2 in royal and we messed that up the first few days. Meliá Circle salespeople (they say its not a timeshare but it is) are kind but it takes up 3 hours when they tell you 90min. Harder pressure when you say no to joining but that’s how it goes- we were offered perks for sitting through presentation and got a huge plate of lobster and shrimp, plus a discount on massages though. Once you get that pink bracelet showing that you sat through the pitch, nobody tries selling you anything anymore. Spent about another $600 USD in tips to staff in 7 days because everyone IS so helpful and tending to your needs at all times but it made it that much more expensive than anticipated. I guess you don’t have to tip but it seems unethical not to.
Great setting and rooms, just renewed
The main buffet was really hoy did not have air conditioning
hotel was located in a good place. it is a big hotel and feels grand as you walk in. the room was clean and very fresh look to it. we have ocean view room with balcony and loved it. Blue Agave restaurant customer service was really good. I don't drink alcohol but non-alcoholic service by the pool was really good. pool was awesome as well.
1. check in process took longer than expected. We arrive a day late due to flight cancelation and still didn't get the room for about an hr. after our arrival. 2. Customer service - other than Blue Agave restaurant was terrible. This was an all inclusive resort but I felt like they were doing me a favor when it comes to service sit down and serve restaurants. 3. elevator carpet had a very mushy smelliness to it. 4. Melia tries to sell you their membership program for 90 mins in return for either a free massage and 3n/4d future stay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND you to take that presentation. I hate to feel pressured...a simple NO should be sufficient but they try to keep selling with 3 different people.
We absolutely enjoyed all the amenities and services provided. Their staff members are accommodating and friendly. The adult only side of the hotel was enjoyable and relaxing. Their pool and beach fronts are well maintained and easily accessible. The food options and restaurants are nice. Our butler (Rode) was amazing. Their rooms are comfy and spacious. This was our first stay and experience at their property and will definitely come back again.
A couple of their restaurants (Market Grill, Bana) were very hot, making it very uncomfortable and difficult to enjoy our food and relax.
