Pros: At check-in, the hotel staff were very enthusiastic about helping us with our luggages (because our room was i another building, and there was no lift). The bed was quite big and comfortable to sleep in. If you are good with walking, you can actually walk to the Sanlitun area (20-25mins).

Pros: At check-in, the hotel staff were very enthusiastic about helping us with our luggages (because our room was i another building, and there was no lift). The bed was quite big and comfortable to sleep in. If you are good with walking, you can actually walk to the Sanlitun area (20-25mins).
Cons: When we read the reviews before we booked, it said that the hotel was near to the station. It actually is a 15mins walk where you have to cross several traffic lights and roads, (approximately 1km away from Dongzhimen Station). If you have big luggages, be prepared. The nearest convenience store/mart was approximately 15mins (around 1km) walk away. Probably because of the cold weather, it was not so pleasant to be walking that much. The bathroom was also not that clean, with stains in the showering area. We stayed for 3 nights. On the second day when we got back to the hotel at night, we found that the cleaning staff threw away the disposable toiletries we were using, and did not replace with new ones. So we had to call to request for new ones.

Cons: Hotel had a nice location, but the facilities, especially the bathroom could use renovation, as it was badly damaged by water damage. There were many mold spots and the woodwork was severely damaged. Room was very small, hardly room for our suitcases.

Cons: takes about 30 minutes at least to get to the center of beijing. so if you have business in the middle of town, this will take a big chunk of time out of your day

Cons: The bed and pillows could have been a bit more comfortable, but I am also picky with this. Generally it was very nice. The food was incredible but the alcohol selection within the executive lounge Happy hour was extremely limited (wine and beer only). The Sunday Brunch was incredible but be ready to pay for it.

Cons: Breakfast was overpriced. One day we asked for 2 extra eggs and they said they would need to charge CNY400 !! Outrageous. We did not eat at all in the hotel. Check-in staff was terrible. I had to make a formal complaint. The manager reached out the next day and gave an apology. there was a nice gentleman called Kevin who was also very communicative Feels like it was a way out from the main attractions of the Forbidden City about 30 mins with travel.

Cons: Everything about this hotel was exceptional! Any negative comments are minor and would be more nitpicking than dislikes. All the complimentary snacks in the room are sweet, so would have been brilliant to have something savoury. Some showers with doors for privacy in the pool changing rooms would be great. However, as far as hotels go this was very near perfect.

Cons: There was no possibility to lower the temperature of the bedroom so it was just awful, incredibly hot, made it impossible to get a good sleep, hence leaving the room at 8 am... The furniture is rather old and looks like it has been there for decades, also very poor lighting in the room. The pool area was quite shabby, plastic furniture, not peaceful, screaming kids all around and even in the jacuzzi, I was not impressed...

Its a bit of a walk from the metro stop maybe 800m. but its not too bad. Place is really clean and comfortable. Also booked a trip to Mutianyu with the hotel was around 260 RMB per person.

Cons: The staff, as often in Chine, is absolutely not customer friendly : "passport" or "deposit" should come with a "please", it would be nice to hear "have a nice stay" when arriving and "I hope you had a nice stay when leaving", offers of assistance to find restaurants or touristic places could be made, indications to find the swimming pool or the hotel restaurant could also be given... Do no expect the Novotel quality you get in Europe, this hotel is closer to a Ibis 2 stars

I booked a windowless room (cheapest option) and to my surprise the room included a pseudo-window that lights up so that you don't feel as claustrophobic.

Pros: We stayed at this hotel as we needed an overnight stay in Beijing on our way back to the UK. It was reasonably close to the Airport - 10 minutes by taxi - and the cost was very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful but their English was virtually non - existent (better than my Mandarin though). This made any necessary communication very difficult - Google Translate was really the only way - assisted by one other resident who spoke both Mandarin and English and helped us. The hotel is quirky - but functional. The breakfast is not western - but the selection is large and there should be enough to satisfy most tastes.

Cons: I reserved my booking on this website, and went to check-in and they could not find my information at all. The staff also do not speak english and we had trouble communication. We ended up using translating apps to talk to each other. The sink in the bathroom also would not drain, we didn't know how to unload the plunger to drain the water and ended up brushing our teeth in the shower. The hotel is also supposed to be smoke-free but the locals will walk into the elevators and hallways with their cigarettes.

The whole building has a damp humid smell.
