Pros: The breakfast is stupendous! What a bargain, free expresso/morning beverage, plus a full breakfast! The staff were very kind and helpful with checkin and checkout! The property was outstanding in terms of location, hygienic standards, and amenities. Our bedroom in the annex even came with a en-suite bathtub under a sky light!

Pros: The hotel is a real oasis within the noices and restlessnesses in Beijing. Special design of the rooms, a wonderful quiet courtyard and a huge terrace with spectacular view through the hutong. All-out recoommendation!!

Pros: Staff was absolutely helpful since we got to the hotel-providing local information, help us with the phone and they speak good english. Toast restaurant is a must try, fantastic food, good service Also the restaurant next to the orchid is a must try.

Pros: We went to the toast at the orchid, which is attached to the property, for afternoon tea. Then, from their rooftop we saw nice little courtyard rooms scattered around the building and decided to check it out. Turned out to be our new favorite place to stay for a short runaway: clean and stylish rooms, hearty breakfast, helpful staff and excellent location, literally our favorite spot in bj. Will come back as soon as we get another chance.

Cons: Some of the light bulbs were burnt out or didn't work. The little living room in the annex was a bit dim, but other than that, everything was fine!

Cons: Breakfast options weren’t all available. Despite the Shakshouka and Frittata were absolutely amazing, we’d very much like to try the Full Chinglish and the Sandwiches which sound very interesting.

Cons: We had a terrace and think that solar lighting for night-time could be a nice addition (but we don't know if they are allowed to add this). Toothpaste would also be a nice addition. Everything else was perfect.

Pros: Eric from the concierge was awesome and so vital to us completing all of our sight seeing tasks for the trip. He arranged taxi's, helped up purchase tickets for temples and even seeing the great wall of China. He checked in with us to make sure we were ok and to see if we needed anymore assistance. He was very polite, caring and of professional. He was outstanding!

Pros: This hotel's lobby was beautiful and smelt amazing! The room was of a good size, though not as big as some of the others we experienced in China. It was clean, comfortable and a nice place to be. The food in the restaurant was good, though expensive. Room service was very reasonable and delicious! We went to the pool and spa, which had nice facilities. Most of the staff were very courteous and helpful.

Cons: I was a bit dizzied by the fragrance of the hotel. Not sure it was intended that way or just poor circulation during the winter months.

Cons: Access to the rooftop bar would have been nice to see. We tried to go have drinks and food after a long day but found out you needed to purchase a meal plan with kinda a bumber! So we went down the street to eat. Kinda weird because youd think they would want you to spend money at the hotel.

Cons: We were there on a national holiday. Not complaining, as we accepted following offer.
Given high occupancy, check in agent offered us a windowless room for first night of two night stay, in exchange for upgrade to club floor amenities (17th floor lounge access including breakfast for both nights). We accepted offer, worked out fine.

Cons: The pool required people to wear a swimming cap and the facilities for sauna and steam were single sex, which was useless to us as we were travelling as a couple and find these things best as a social experience. We found the concierge team next to the main door to be unhelpful and sometimes rude. It took 30 minutes for a cab to arrive for us one night, which wasn't a problem but we needed a taxi the next day to the airport, which was more important timing wise, so we tried to book it ahead of time and the concierge was insistent he would only book one when we were ready for it, not in advance.

Black-out curtains kept the room dark in the morning. Staff is so kind and at the desk 24 hours/day. They arranged a cab for a 3:30am pick up to the airport.

Pros: The location of Nostalgia Hotel is very central in a Hutong area near the Lama- and the Confucius Tempel. Also, it's only a few Metro stops away from Tianmen square. Very friendly and helpful staff. Eventhough their command of English is rather limited. For cat lovers: there is a cat Cafe just on the other side of the road :-)!

Cons: My room smelled like smoke.. I am sensitive to cigarette smell so this made me cough and caused some headaches. Staff does not know much English so it isn’t very tourist friendly to non Chinese speaking tourist. I appreciate their effort in trying to communicate though.

Pros: I liked the location - close to the bus stops, underground station, shops, restaurants and parks. The breakfast options served on site were quite cheap and tasty. Laundry charge was very reasonable as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is definitely a good place to stay if you want to make friends and explore Beijing.
Cons: The lockers in my room were a bit too small. Also the shower in the bathroom would do with a screen or a curtain. Without it the whole bathroom was completely wet after having even a short shower, making it very difficult to use by other room mates.
