Cons: Entry to rooms is directly from outside, which in winter time makes it very inconvenient to enjoy the hotel’s amenities

7.7 Good
Pros: Location was great but very busy and loud.
Rooms were small but very clean.
Rooftop fire pit and hot pools were fantastic.
Lobby fireplace sitting area is beautiful.
Downstairs restaurant and bar are very convenient.
Cons: For as much as it cost, the rooms were quite small and the walls were very thin - lots of outside noise.
No alcohol allowed by the fireplace in the lobby was inconvenient.
No full-length mirror in rooms.
Shower head awkwardly close to the shower wall so you had so stand uncomfortably close to the wall while showering.

Pros: The rustic design and Christmas decor gives the hotel a perfect setting for winter holiday. We had a room with balcony, kitchenette and fireplace. This was a nice comfortable winter experience. Easy access to buses, supermarket and shops.
Cons: The hot spa pools at the rooftop looked tempting. Unfortunately we were afraid of the winter cold and did not attempt to use this beautiful facility.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent to get to the downtown core. The atmosphere is very nice in the hotel lobby.
Cons: The room did not have a recycle blue bin and therefore the garbage bins filled up fast. We asked on two occasions to have them emptied, but our requests went unattended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place to stay in winter. Was very warm and comfortable with great staff.
Cons: Centrally located in town with lots of restaurants
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, right downtown. The rooftop pool area area was great and it had beautiful mountain views. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel atmosphere was calm and cozy. Not busy at all in November.
Cons: Breakfast was not included in the price. The hotel has a restaurant but it was a little expensive-ish (normal Banff price level though) so we went to a near cafe and had breakfast there instead.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location in the village
Cons: Seemed way overpriced for the room we received. $--- for a standard room, not view, facing a wall. Manager did offer an alternative, but it was on same floor, same view, so not really any better
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Unfriendly counter staff and the uncleaned details

Pros: great location and atmosphere, friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Better breakfast options are available in town.

Pros: It was clean and location was right in the centre of banff downtown
Cons: Wish the walls are more sound proof but except this, it was perfect!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great with clean, comfortable rooms.
Cons: No fridge in room & pop in pop machine was warm. There was no 'do not disturb' placards in the room so was woken up by housekeeping my first day. They were eventually able to find one for me and then everything was great.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was a wonderful hotel. Location was perfect.
Cons: Only complaint is that it was loud at night. They do provide you with ear plugs and you definitely need it.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing, easy to walk to all restaurants, shops, etc. the free parking was a big plus as well. Rooms are updated and very clean. Rooftop hot tub was nice, staff always very friendly. Hotel was super sweet and left us flowers in room with a card for our anniversary, very nice touch!
Cons: The bed was a tad uncomfortable, along with the pillows. For 3 nights I was just fairly uncomfortable by the 3rd night, however everyone’s preference is so different with bed type. The huge downside was that one hot tub was broken/shut down so the one hot tub that was open was extremely crowded and we weren’t able to use it 1 night due to amount of people. Also hot tub is not kept hot enough for it being outside.
9.6 Excellent
Pros:
Cons: Having to move rooms because of a water leak
9.7 Excellent
Pros:
Cons: Rooftop bar pretty basic. Room and location awesome. Appreciated the free parking also!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds. Great location!!
Cons: One of the hot tubs was closed so there was only one hot tub to use and it could only hold 6 adults.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location at downtown of Banff and car Parking is very convenient.
Cons:
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. The rooms are modern and cozy. The staff are friendly and there is onsite parking available.
Cons: It can be noisy as it is so central however the hotel obviously recognises that and gives you ear plugs. It didn't really bother me that much as I was able to fall back to sleep pretty easily.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Upgrade for same price
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked the location and how we could walk everywhere in town.
Cons: It says there is free parking. But it is limited had to park in the three hour parking and then move the vehicle in the morning. Ended up parking on the road and walking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beds are comfortable and the location is good.
Cons: The parking was challenging as the hotel was full and there were not enough spots for everyone.

6.0 Good
Pros: We enjoyed the fact that it was relatively updated. Good tv access and a good location.
Cons: It was very unfortunate that there was no breakfast available Monday-Thursday only Friday-Sunday. That should have been disclosed perviously otherwise we would have stayed else where because we didn't want to have to find a specific place to eat our breakfast every day. Also the bathroom was sub par for cleanliness. There was a used tooth brush left inside part of the bathtub by the curtain and there was other people's hair stuck into the bath mat. Which make me very uncomfortable showing because as a pregnant woman... Balance and slipping are a lot easier to do in a slippery shower. And I didn't feel comfortable taking a bath after finding that tooth brush.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were completely accommodating with two requests we had.
Cons: not enough parking but there is not a single thing they can do about that.

Cons: Small incident involving me stepping on a piece of glass in my room. I feel it could have been handled a little better by the staff initially (no first aid offered, missed piece after vacuuming) but things happen and they ended up discounting my hotel bill which was appreciated. I would still stay at the hotel again.

Pros: Location.
Cons: A window was broken in our room that let excess noise in. Interrupted our sleep a few times. When mentioned to staff no compensation was provided. Otherwise no issues.

Pros: Modern Style of rooms and underground parking
Cons: No AC, room was too warm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big rooms, comfy, the view.
Cons: The room next to us must of had at least 15 people in there, half of them kids running around, stomping, yelling. They didn't stop until well after midnight and the walls seemed to be paper thin.

Pros:
Cons: The advertised "superior" room for which we pre-paid almost $400 a night for 6 nights was on the first floor with a walking path right next to the window, so there was no privacy at all. The safe did not work. The towels were fryed at the ends and some had stains. After our complaint, the manager of duty first lied that there were no rooms available. After the threat that we would request money return and move to another hotel, he suddenly discovered a premier room available two nights later, but requested that we check out from the current room by 11am and only check into the new one after 4pm, being for 5 hrs roomless. Only the next day the new manager on duty fixed these issues and transferred us to the room in a normal way and with apologies.
The breakfast is mediocre to put it mildly, many motels have better ones.
All in all, they charged these enormous prices only since they could - the location was great.

Pros: One of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in, in a long time. Really good breakfast. Very quiet rooms.
Cons: There was no parking available. The underground parking was full. The outdoor lot was full, so I had to find street parking. When we asked if it was ok to park overnight, the front counter guy said "read the parking signs".
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean, modern, updated , comfortable. Great parking. Surprizingly quiet unlike several older reviews. Easy walking distance to downtown. Overal we really liked the facility and the room. Back end area needs some updating .
Cons: Breakfast was not impressive except for the omlette and the cook serving it. Buffet was not fresh at all ,sausages like rubber ,areas were not maintained and messy (spillage etc) For the sake of the hotel, I noted an obviously cracked mug but the girl did not seem interested. Other breakfast staff and some of the front staff did not seem to be that interested either in their jobs.

Cons: when we left, I forgot some of our clothes in the closet. I immediately called the hotel and asked to send them. They were sent it to me, with the exception of some new clothes. Do you understand what this means? My clothes are not really valuable and I’m not particularly upset, but this unpleasant situation suggests that the staff is not honest and when you are staying at this hotel, you cannot be sure about your values and clothes. I thing the most important thing in the hotel is comfort and safety. Not at this hotel. I will never stay here again. I'm disappointed

Cons: The bathtub did not drain very well and the TV did not work. A staff came and tried to fix the problem but it still did not work.
7.0 Good
Pros: location, cleanliness, free parking
Cons: 1. air conditioner is loud in room. 2. I put request of having top floor and away from elevator. I had a second floor, beside the elevator and laundry room. 3. It was my husband's birthday. I asked if they do any special surprise-no
9.0 Excellent
Pros: location and friendliness of staff
Cons: parking lot a bit small although there was plenty of road parking

Pros: Fantastic value for the money. Would definitely recommend!
Cons:
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy and pleasant check in. We were upgraded to a king bed room. The room was large and clean. Underground parking was great. The pool and hot tub were good.
Cons: Some refurbishment underway, but this did not effect our stay. The adjoining restaurant was closed so could not get breakfast or other meals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel employee and all the staff were absolutely fantastic - definitely plan to return in the future.
Cons:
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very comfortable and clean.
Cons: We heard quite a loud commotion outside our room in the afternoon, I go outside and to my surprise was several staff members actually in an argument. I was in total shock for that behaviour from staff.

Pros: We liked everything
Cons:
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location several blocks from down town. Comfortable room.
Cons: Parking was limited due to property being under construction.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location, big room.
Cons: The hotel at first tried to charge me double what I agreed to pay for which was a ridiculous amount per night even by their standards. But when they saw the booking.com printout they honoured that price at the end of the day. Also there was very noisy construction going on some days
1.0 Poor
Pros: Location was good
Cons: They did not honor our double room booking. Put my wife and I with our 15 year old twins in a room with only a king bed. Told us our room choice was first come first serve. Girl working counter was great. Manager needs to work on his people skills.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was bright and spacious. The location is near downtown.
Cons: No. The hotel was great. Thank you.

Pros: Staff very friendly & accommodating. Excellent location on the Main Street of shops and restaurants.
Cons: The pool facilities were closed at the hotel. We were allowed to use a few sister properties for the hot pools and gym facilities.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel always had hot water.
Cons: spa amenities were closed and the hotel is overpriced, and the continental breakfast was average.
1.0 Poor
Pros: In town, private room entrance.
Cons: Terrible quality for price, excessive extra fees tagged on, old/gross furniture, beds were terrible (and I can sleep anywhere), bathtub did not drain, towels were gross, continental breakfast did not even have fresh eggs, do not stay here. Never again.
6.3 Good
Pros:
Cons: The hot tub was broken. The rooms were very loud and the light switches in the bathroom and sink area stopped working. Very disappointing.

Pros: Food yummy service great facility super
Cons: The pool was closed but that wasn’t your fault
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Chili's restaurant was a high light, great food and service. Very cozy and rustic lobby décor, comfortable rooms.
Cons: Pool was closed for renovations and safety purposes for quite some time, and was not advertised or mentioned upon booking, staff had a "too bad so sad, attitude". I had only chose this place for its pool, and was uninterested in moving resorts to Hidden Ridge as I have stayed numerous times, and find the staff rude.

Pros: We were mostly happy and content with our stay. The spa is in disrepair, but we were still able enjoy it. Cons:

Pros: Outdoor/lodge feeling
Cons: Hot tub broken down ($50 rate reduction) but that was the point of out trip. Cigarette burns in blanket. Other guests kept us up all night long. Little sound proofing - if any.

Cons: Limited parking in the back and there is no guarantee of a spot if vehicle is outside the height restriction to get into the underground parking. Rooms walls are very thin, can hear hallway conversations and the sounds of the service carts rolling down the hall.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Our room doesn't have kitchen, it would be better if the hotel offered room with kitchen or common kitchen.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Underground parking access
Cons: Front staff were unresponsive to concerns about complimentary upgrade. The window was small with no view, king bed was less than a foot to the door, hot tub jets broken. When complained ---$ was alot for nothing was told " thats easter"
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: This is definitely not handicap facilities, no handicap parking, no handicap washroom in restaurant. Very poor parking period.!! Select of tv channels not good.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was a 2 x queen room; the high ceiling gave the room a very spacious feel. Location was just a short walk to the Magpie & Stump.
Cons: Parking garage has a low ceiling (approx. 6 ft.)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Checkin process was easy. Clean, comfortable room.
Cons: Damage deposit excessive. Makes me wonder about the clientele they attract.

Nice clean bedding / linens, and carpets in bedrooms; Clean towels, tiling, showers and fixtures in bathrooms...lots of hot water and bathroom floor seemed to be heated, nice! Pool, hot tub and steam room were clean, nicely maintained, as were change rooms / washrooms. Reception staff were very nice and professional. Pros: Healthy choices for breakfast was nice. I like the location, room was nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. I had a very good nights sleep. It's been awhile since I've had one.
Cons: The breakfast was okay, not hot and the milk was warm.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom was big and the washroom was spacious with tub and a shower box..
Cons: Breakfast options were very limited, no consideration to lactose free milk/yogurt and gluten free options. Breakfast time was short.
5.0 Okay
Pros:
Cons: It was super hot upstairs in the loft which made it difficult to sleep and the bed was terrible. Time to buy new beds.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Super average hotel. Interiors are very drab and outdated.
Cons: Lamps in the bedroom did not work (bad bulbs). The lights in the room were half white half yellow. The "hot" breakfast had only the one non vegetarian option. The staff at the front desk were not super familiar with giving any recommendations on the area.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was really good, I wish you guys had more different things, like scrambled eggs instead of boiled eggs, or bagels instead of just bread. Also, the room was beautiful, loved the heated flooring and the high vaulted ceiling!! The bathroom was huge and beautiful as well.
Cons: The counter service person could have been more welcoming. We had a mishap about the reference booking as it was under my name rather than my friends, but instead of trying to help she just said we didn't have a booking. Also, I wished the pool hours were longer. I know it is already 7am - 11pm which is plenty time already but the people who get there at 9 pm have no chance of using the pool or hot tub to relax before heading to bed as they would just worry about eating out for dinner and then coming back to the hotel. I would've loved to use the pool past 11 pm.
1.0 Poor
Pros: nothing
Cons: The elevator was not working, we had to haul all luggage to 3rd floor. Not easy at 68 yrs. old. They placed an autistic child in the room next to us. We heard parents screaming and doors banging all night. We did not fall asleep until 2 AM.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros:
Cons: Very poor customer service, the manager did not take the time to try to resolve any of the issues. We booked specifically for the parking, and had to park 20 min away because other guests were double parked - the manager did nothing to resolve the issue, blamed having to 'dig into the mountains' as a reason to why they did not advertise having limited parking and did not deal with the issue.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The location was good.
Cons: The room pictures example on booking.com looked great, modern and clean, but when we got to our room saw it was tired, very outdated and smelt musty. They offered an alternative and it was equally poor. When we showed them the pictures on booking.com associated with the room we booked on the app on my phone they told us they were pictures of the 6 or so refurbished rooms,. We offered to cancel and lose one nights money to go elsewhere but they said the policy was we would lose both nights money.....but we could have a refurbished room for an extra $75 per night, we agreed but maintained the photos were total a misrepresentation of the actual rooms when booking. It should be noted one of their staff even admitted "yes the rooms are very dated" We live in Alberta and have stayed in Banff many times and always try different places to stay and have never been disappointed. There is of course first time for everything and this was certainly it.

Cons: the ledges along the windows/patio door could have been vacuumed a little better - none the less, it was still a clean room both in the bedroom/sitting area and the bathroom

Pros: We had a room overlooking the river. Good view and room was clean.
Cons: When we arrived the fellow at reception was grumpy. I thought maybe it was a bad day, or he had just dealt with a nasty/difficult customer. However he never was pleasant the three days we were there. The night person was very pleasant and had a smile to welcome you as you came back. If it wasn’t Banff the reception guy wouldn’t be there. For some the fact there was no wifi would be a problem.

Pros: Centrally located near Banff with access to the main hotel for the amenities. Also pet friendly and pretty close to the off-leash dog park. Would recommend staying here especially if you have a pet.
Cons: There's not much I'd want to be improved upon.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The room was clean, quiet, spacious, big bath, comfortable
Cons: Couldn't find the registration office, we were lead on a goose chase, sending us to the apartments across the street, then to this restraunt a block away, horrible parking on a narrow hilly drive, had to register in a restraunt? Really? It should be with the motel not a block away at a restraunt. No one to guide you there, very frustrating, at least have maps to say where you register, really a silly set up. Crazy area!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room itself is spacious, especially the top is attic like which makes the room instantly bigger. There’s plenty of worktop space and room for luggage. There’s also a small patio which overlooks the yard downstairs.
Cons: The downside of the property is that the building itself doesn’t have reception. When you check in you have to be at another building (it’s brother hotel) across the main road in Banff town. In addition, all the facilities such as pool gym etc are in the brother hotel as well. It’s about 5 min walk from your room to the other hotel. It’s not convenient in that regard.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Easy to find and spacious
Cons: Office was closed only a cleaning lady was walking around. It turns out that the motel across the street operated it. Never told that The room was dated and needed repair especially in the bathroom. There were not windows to speak of and the soap dispenser in the shower did not work. The room was over priced for what you got. No breakfast and the fridge did not work.

Cons: The bathroom drain was clogged.

Pros:
Cons: I visit Banff often for work and vacation (I've travelled all over the world and have a lot of budget hotel experience). I've stayed at several different hotels in Banff and Canmore. Most of them have been in this price range. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I feel like I was ripped off at $200/night plus tax. One of the two table lamps (the only lighting in the room) had a shade that was torn up. I called the front desk and they said they'd send a new one, but never did. The heat was on really high and there's no way to adjust it in the room, only a dirty dusty and loud table-top fan. I opened the window to cool it down, but only one of the two windows would open. With the windows open all I could hear was construction. There is both road work and a new building being built next door. I could also hear a lot of noise from other guests that also had their windows open. The room was filthy. There was dust on all the surfaces. The shower had hair and dead bugs squished onto the tile. The carpet was dingy and stained. They never replaced the coffee in my room. There were loud clanging noises one night that persisted for about an hour. I called about it and they sent a repair guy who at first didn't believe me and said "it's just and old noisy building." A second repair guy heard the noise and fixed it. It was caused by the heating system. Check in isn't located on site at Bumpers Inn, it's at Inns of Banff across the intersection that was under construction, so getting over there, and in and out of Banff, was a hassle with all the traffic back-ups. The only redeeming thing was that the bed was decent, not great, but decent. This place is only a step up from camping. I wanted to get another hotel, but there was no vacancy anywhere else I looked. I've actually paid the same rate to stay at luxurious Canalta Lodge, so I am disappointed. I won't stay here again. I don't recommend it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice hotel but over priced
Cons:
6.3 Good
Pros: The price was good - it's an older Inn, perhaps one of the oldest - So it is likely a place that will be torn down soon to make a major upgrade - then the price will inevitably go up. I was happy as I got what I paid for.
Cons: climbing stairs with a suitcase was a minor hassle, but it is only a two storey building. The unit I was in faced the edge of town forest and North so there was poor lighting and only two small table lamps that didn't provide much light - so the overall impression of the room in the evenings was the it was too dark.
