10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the facilities, the location, all the details in the room
Cons: Can't think of anything
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The location, the ambience, the rooms and the food were all great. We were all comfortable and enjoyed the stay, the only complaint (if a true complaint at all) is the service speed. We would sometimes order drinks and would not get it till 15 - 20 minutes afterwards. After that, we would rarely see the waiter.
Cons: Service speed needs a boost. While not horrible to ruin our experience, it could've made it so much better and pleasant.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Bed super comfortable and good facilities
Cons: My room didn’t have shampoo, conditioner only body lotion, we asked for one queen bed and they give me a double bedroom with no chance to change I hope they could give me at least a late check out but they didn’t...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room. Very spacious. Away from noise.
Cons: Had some trouble finding the parking lot. While driving to the hotel
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel design and location were perfect. It’s a fairly big hotel with lots of amenities, but doesn’t feel crowded. It still has a boutique hotel feel. Cleaning staff do a great job, the room was spotless.
Cons: Ordered a pickup from the airport and they never scheduled it. Not the end of the world but when I informed the staff at the desk they were adamant I never requested such service. I obviously had the message chain on my phone and when I showed them there was no apology offered. No big deal as there are plenty of easy ways to get there from the airport at a fraction of the price of their private car service. Just strange they were reluctant to admit they made a mistake.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely professional hotel by any standard but especially in Guatemala. A well-oiled machine, and very family friendly, with a kid-friendly pool, playground, kid's club, cribs available, even kid-only toiletries! It was also very quiet. This was a welcome respite from more difficult travel around Guatemalal.
Cons: The restaurant has a nice enough menu but execution was spotty at best. Our breakfasts were poor, and the drinks need a lot of improvement, from smoothies (so gross!) to some of their "signature cocktails". Also, given how kid friendly they are, the Kids' menu was very lame and all options had meat (our kids won't eat meat). How hard would it be to have a quesadilla or bean and cheese taco option, or a pasta? They also would not make a kid's size or style pasta for our son despite having a bunch of pastas on the normal menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would absolutely go back again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location great facilities in a lovely setting. Spacious rooms with a very comfortable bed
4.5 Okay
Cons: El precio demasiado alto para el el hotel, habitación pequeña y comida regular

Pros: The location was excellent, walking distance to most places. The breakfast was so good, very complete with natural juice, traditional food from Guatemala, and may options offered in the buffet.

Pros: Location and confort
Cons: N/A
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a well run operation in all aspects
Cons: I like the arquitecture the well kept gardens an service in all respects
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is set back from the street by a long Bougainvillea lines drive, leading into a very welcoming foyer. You are greeted with an ice cold non alcoholic cocktail and given a minute to enjoy the incredible fresh flower arrangements and antiques, then efficiently checked in by bilingual staff. You are then escorted to your room through a key coded iron gate, past a huge swim jacuzzi to your room. The rooms are very high ceilinged and furnished in darker wood hues, the rooms are all decorated in dark woods and fabrics, giving a calm, relaxing atmosphere.
Cons: The HUGE swim jacuzzi was a bit cloudy, could have used a good cleaning and service.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a gem of a property in a very central location. We fell in love with this unique hotel once we walked through the entrance and saw the beautiful interior garden. Each room is unique. We had no 7 which was very large with a really comfortable bed and so quiet away from the street noise. We absolutely highly recommend this property. The staff are friendly and really helpful and the breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious.
Cons: We loved everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an exceptional hotel!!! Perfectly located, just a few steps away from Antigua's famous Calle del Arco and 2 blocks away from Antigua's Central Park, yet when you are within the walls of San Rafael Hotel it is delightfully quiet and serene. The staff is friendly, helpful, professional and so accommodating...helping us with taxis to and from the airport, arranging tours, and offering suggestions for local restaurants. San Rafael Hotel is wonderfully appointed...Architectural Digest style, but comfortable, warm and friendly! We HIGHLY recommend staying at San Rafael Hotel to anyone traveling to Antigua...you will not be disappointed, but rather your expectations will be exceeded!!!

6.5 Good
Pros: Nice rooms. Pretty grounds.
Cons: Eerie music playing. Have to pay for wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an extraordinarily place with everything required for full comfort which includes restaurants, spa, galleries, historic amusement site-seens, clean well decorated room with balcony. I Love this place. I will definitely recommend to friends or loved ones.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, and the history of the property is fascinating. The overall resort helps make up for other weaknesses. The pool was nice, and there was a staff member there who was particularly helpful. Random staff in the hallways were pleasant as well.
Cons: The room itself was dated and not totally comfortable. The bed was very hard, the bathroom was cramped, the lighting was inadequate for reading in bed, and the room was partially below ground level so it had a musty smell. The most surprising and unfortunate part of the stay was the front desk and restaurant staff. The front desk staff could not be bothered to help with a dinner reservation (totally forgot to call) and was generally pretty out of it. They looked at us like we were crazy every time we asked a simple question. The restaurant for breakfast was an exercise in patience; our eggs and toast took at least 30-35 minutes (and on the last day, a full 45 minutes!) to be prepared. And no one really cared.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel grounds and the restaurant is excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere, Cozy room overlooking the pools, music, rose pedal in all of the ponds, banquet in the ruins of an ancient monastery, excellent food, outdoor sculpture garden high on a hillside, lush greenery everywhere, parrots on perches at the pools.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience exceed my expectations. The spa was a quiet tranquil sanctuary with hot and cold pools, steam rooms with the option of massages, facials etc. The museums, pool and restaurant were 5 star quality. The staff really go the extra mile to make you feel special and welcomed. The room was very large with a wood burning fireplace. Everything was very luxurious and they really treat their guests amazingly. Probably the best hotel experience I've had to date.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was exceptional!
Cons: Need towel and robe hooks in the bathroom of suite 266.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very unique experience, excellent service, amazing goof, the most beautiful setting for a relax stay.
Cons: I Maybe better beds

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Service and staff
Cons: It advertised airconditioning as a facility feature but realized that was only in the more expensive rooms. Thought a single bed would have been minimum double sized. Other than that great and very good breakfast included.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful courtyard and pleasant staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was good, not great but near enough to restaurants. It's very close to the bus station which may or may not be a good thing. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The value isn't great- more expensive compared to similar properties which are in better areas.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and stylish (nice modern update on Guatamala style). Breakfast excellent. Super friendly staff. Very close to only supermarkets in Antigua and a 5 to 7 minute walk to central area. No bikes BUT you don't want one with the cobblestone streets. Be patient for hot water. Its there but it takes a while
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is a gem. The staff are super friendly and go above and beyond; knowing I had a 3am pick up so would miss breakfast, the manager grabbed me a Subway free of charge to take with me! There was also coffee ready for me when I left thanks to the nighttime receptionist. Small room but super comfy bed. Fantastic to be able to choose your breakfast from a range of options.
Cons: It would have been great to have a key to let myself in to the property rather than having to buzz reception every time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great small hotel, just a few block from everything. The staff is super friendly! The day before my arrival they sent me a message if I needed help with airport pickup, what a service :) Also the breakfast was very good, they had a menu where I could choose between different dishes. In the weekends the also serve pancake and some other dishes. My favourite was the omelet!
Cons: Don’t have anything negative to say about the hotel.

You have everything there even a Food Menu. Payment with my Amex fast and easy. Hot water 24hr. I had a pleasant stay. Thanks.
Cons: As a suggestion you should put advertisements in each bed of the shared rooms about not eating inside, keep the door closed, put your phone in vibrator mode. The breakfast time may be extended to 9:30am or 10:00 am.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff were fine and it was cheap

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast, good beds and linens, hot water, nice and helpful staff and pretty gardens. Also ample on site parking.
Cons: I found it a bit further from the center of Antigua than places I have stayed in the past. For me it was unfortunate and not a problem for the hotel but there was a local family with young child who cried late at night and was very active early, this worsened as the noise seemed to travel easily to my room. I stayed in what is known as a suite with private patio. It did have a small patio but did not see much of a difference from the standard doubles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well maintain, safe and beautiful facility.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with friendly and helpful staff. Place is very clean with a good breakfast. Lovely communal area to sit looking out on a peaceful garden.

Cons: breakfast can be better. Its not open menü,you only choose one option.and what include, you like or not.I diddnt like this
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was quite good, even though it's rather strange that you have to pay even for very usual and "basic" drinks / food ; they charge whatever they consider an "extra", but they do not deduct any item which you don't select out of the offered menu : it looks unfair.
Cons: The Hotel is a very nice and charming old House, well furnished, with very relaxing courtyards and internal gardens, roof terrace, etc. The position is a little far away from the city center, but still in the old city.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room and hotel! Delicious breakfast and lovely staff. All in a great location. We’d be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its cozy, clean, exactly what we needed. They lended me a pack & play (portable cradle) for my 1 year old baby.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Small place only 20 rooms very charming colonial style, the gardens, the size of the rooms, hot water, the staff service, very clean
Cons: 1) Terrible Internet service we could not talk with my other family members back home as the communication kept cutting off, 2) There was a construction on the roof going on starting at 8:00 am and kept going until 5:00 so it was impossible to sleep after 8:00 am and impossible to nap after Lunch, very noisy due to hammer and drill noises : ( 3)The breakfast was not a buffet it was a la carte and there were not very much options to choose from and was a small amount.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, and the view from the rooftop while eating made it that much more of an experience!
Cons: Couldn't complain about anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Breakfast. Beautiful setting. Best of all: the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are beautiful, my room was a Jr. Suite and was very comfortable and had everything we needed. They have a wonderful rooftop terrace where you can clearly see the volcanoes. The gardens are beautiful and they have seating amongst the gardens or in an indoor area. And, the staff spoke English and went out of their way to help us and answer questions.
Cons: The location was a little longer of a walk to the arch or the central park, but it's not bad. You can always grab a tuk tuk. The benefit of being slightly further away is the quiet.

Cons: A breakfast with more options. Eggs? Bacon?
6.8 Good
Pros: Rooms and courtyard.
Cons: Very nice property in a great location. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were comfortable. Hotel was busy with some kind of school during a couple days and evening. Classes in courtyard and parking area. Not a big deal, but it did change the atmosphere.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - wonderful building and room - very confortable vrd - nice staff
Cons: - the breakfast could offer more and better choices to customers
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location. Gorgeous and charming grounds. Comfortable room.
Cons: All good!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Two blocks from main square and next to a cute coffee shop. You are in a great location. Very central to everything. You are paying for that location. Breakfast is pretty much breads yoghurt fruit and a glass of Orange juice. Coffee was not great which is how we discovered the Fat Cat coffee shop next door. They have good coffee and offer a couple of egg plates for breakfast (ask if they don’t have menus out). Bed was decent. The mattress was good. The sheets though are very coarse compared to what we are used to and the pillows are kind of sad. That said I would stay here again if I could get a good rate.
Cons: The price was a little high but it has a fabulous location. Bed sheets and pillows could use an upgrade. They would be fine at half the price but not really in line with the room rates.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Shower was really small.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, easy walk to the square and shops.
Cons: The bed and blanket could use an update
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional value. This was our second time staying at the Hotel Aurora and we couldn't have been happier with the room, the breakfast provided, and, last but not least, the most beautiful courtyard.
Cons: Nothing to complain about at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness of the facility and the old architecture design was kept intact.
Cons: The continental breakfast was poor. Not much of a selection and was all cold food

Pros: This was a great landing spot for our family of 4 upon arrival to Guatemala. They arranged for a private shuttle to pick us up from the airport, and we were absolutely delighted with our room, the dining terrace, and friendly welcome (Andrea) upon our arrival. Extremely clean, ideal location (quiet but close enough to walk everywhere), hot water, breathtaking views, beautifully decorated and very unique. Great breakfast, too! We all felt like we were being treated!
Cons: The price was a bit higher than we usually spend, but it was worth it.

Cons: Rooms are a bit small and a little damp but not too bad.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, in a Spanish-style hacienda, beautiful small garden. The room was small but was very clean, comfortable and with pampering small things. The room (no. 1) was quiet. Breakfast was great. You can also have it in the chain's other hotel which is nearby (with bigger selection of buffet). The service was very good. Most of the hotel's team knew English. Intimate feel and atmosphere.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfull breakfast and very welcoming and helpfull staff! Calm and relaxing place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the style and ambiance of this small boutique hotel. The breakfast on the rooftop was wonderful! Friendly staff and great location to walk everywhere in Antigua. 10/10 recommended Casa Encantada!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Liked the location and of course the place itself - very nice, QUIET and cozy. The place is great. Access to Porta Hotel makes it perfect - pool, gym, breakfast and sauna there are amazing
Cons: The only one thing was not perfect is the size of the room. There is a big bed in the room, which is perfect, but there is literally no space to move besides walking around the bed. On one hand it makes you spend more time outside and just sleep in the room.

7.0 Good
Pros: The room was simple but clean. The balcony is nice to chill on with great views. It is a great location to explore the city. The desk is manned 24/7 and the lady who runs the hostel is soooo friendly and helpful. She booked us all our shuttles. She is a very kind lady.
Cons: The kitchen was quite cramped, so we did not use it. The dogs go in and out of the kitchen so it doesn't feel clean. The dogs are also feed inside.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good, cheap price for a hostel in Antigua... the owner was very helpful and friendly. They had a ton of really cute dogs at the time which were also pretty loud :P
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely owner with her 16 husky puppies, very cute and she was great at telling us about Antigua. Lovely friendly atmosphere.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: 9 dogs living at the reception (+smell)
7.9 Good
Pros: The roof terrace is great and you can see the volcano erupting, especially good at night when you can see the lava. Good location only a few blocks from the centre but quiet and away from the party scene. Safe and secure down a driveway which is locked at night. Dogs are really cute and friendly but there are about 10 of them so if you’re not keen it’s not ideal.
Cons: Rooms are a little pokey and could probably do with a fan.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The most welcoming family style hostel ever, especially with all the mental puppies! Amazing kitchen and the friendliest people with enough stories to write 677272 books - thank you for everything captain Tom and the team ❤️
Cons: If you don’t like dogs this isn’t the place for you, isn’t tip top clean all the time but they really do their best and can’t help you enough with anything!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Bed was good and room had a good size. Owner was very friendly and helpful, the huskeys are nice and funny even though I am not the biggest dog lover. Kitchen was really well equiped. Hot showers. Wifi was great (in some other hostels they struggle with having a good wifi) and roof top terrace was nice with an amazing view on Fuego at night if there are no clouds at least
Cons: Building looks a bit outdated. Bit a lack of atmosphere
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Hostel ran by amazing people. There are a lot of dogs there if that's not your thing, but they're cool and safe. Was able to book a cheap tour to hike Acatenago here as well.
7.0 Good
Pros: We liked the helpful advises of the host and the warm welcoming. We liked the fact the host booked an excursion for us in last minute.
Cons: We didn't like the ten dogs in the reception because we are a bit afraid of dogs.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This hostel is a great choice for budget travelers. Good location, very nice owners, well-equipped kitchen and a roof terrace with amazing views towards volcanoes. Great place to meet other travelers also. The private room was big enough and with a volcano view. Common areas and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The huskies are super-cute and friendly.
Cons: Nothing to complain about really, we liked this place a lot. Maybe it's not for people who don't like dogs or have allergies, though the dogs don't enter the rooms of course.

Pros: the staff and the service were great, and the bed was comfortable. It was also a very pretty place.
Cons: The walls were pretty thin. We felt like we had to whisper the whole time, and not the best location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room, views, super clean, extremely nice people.
Cons: Excellent location, new rooms, very quite but 3 blocks from the main squares in town. The ladies who run the place are very very nice. The WiFi is a rocket. The view of the volcano is just breathtaking.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet hotel no noise at night...no dogs barking....maybe I was just lucky
Cons: No chairs to sit in just outside your room. There were table and chairs at the end of the hall but I think they were designated to certain rooms . They had number on them. I was on the lower level of hotel.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in quieter part of town with nice common spaces and lounges. Staff was great in helping me plan activities and excursions.
Cons: For a hotel that costs almost double what other nice areas in the option do, be weary of service at the most expensive hotel in town. I found the service at breakfast completely sub-par: the staff was unable to accommodate any requests or slight changes off the menu. Also, do not book transfers through the hotel as they charge more than double the average going rate. Also, no rooms on the second floor (half of rooms: all standard rooms) have a window, only a skylight. I found photos of the rooms misleading.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing building, decor was gorgeous throughout the property, excellent location.
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: It’s a beautiful reconstructed colonial property. They tried to tell me that it was a restored home but I know the area and I remember when it was an empty lot.
Cons: The property was beautiful but my room had filthy carpet and considering how much I paid. They tried to also show me two rooms before that room that had no windows that opened and it was warm. But the worst part was the staff was so rude and snobby. They didn’t care if you weren’t happy. So so overpriced for what you get. I stayed just every hotel and Antigua and I thought I’d give this one a try and there’s so many other great places to stay. When I try to give them feedback about my experience they just handed me a TripAdvisor card and told me to put my comments there which shows they don’t give two shits.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Stuff made sure that everything is smooth for us from the moment we stepped in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hands down, the best hotel I have ever visited. The space is breathtaking. And the light incense and music softly playing throughout the grounds adds to the dreamy atmosphere. We had an amazing time and will remember the amazing staff forever.
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer!

6.7 Good
Pros: Good location, reasonable size room, quiet, comfortable bed
Cons: No water filter so had to buy bottles. And despite being promised there was no desk in the room which made using laptop hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is really nice. The staff is always willing to help. The location is amazing, breakfast is good.. the property itself Is amazing
Cons: Well.. not necessarily about the property itself but there’s a church nearby and on sundays you can hear the bells at 6am ringing every hour up until 12 pm. So yeah.. that was a bit annoying cause it won’t let you sleep.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We arrived early and the staff gave us complimentary beverages. They were very friendly and offered great service. The location was quiet but very accessible to the main plaza, restaurants and shopping. They even offered us a secure area to store our luggage after check-out time. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Cons: Everything met our expectations and can't think of a negative response.

Cons: Fan in the room would be nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There were some very noisy people who woke me up at 3.15am when leaving. Staff moved me to a much quiter room for the remaining two nights and were very good about it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds very compfy. Lots of sitting areas inside and out Good breakfast.
Cons: The canon fires directly behind the building but it was all quiet all night. The street is busy outside but not noisy and leads easily to the centre of town. Laundry ran until about 5.30pm and was a bit noisy but not a major issue.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooftop & breakfast restaurant
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooftop with amazing view. Sat there with a very watching volvano fuego erupt lava every 5 minutes or so. Perfect location too and cute decoration.
Cons: Loud party music Saturday night and thin walls. Church bells rang every 15 minutes from 5 am til 6 am at the very nearby church to call for Sunday mass. So the Saturday sleep wasn't great but Sunday night was fine.

6.0 Good
Pros: The staff were very nice and helpful.
Cons: Music from 7.00am till 10.00pm was intrusive and repetitive. Irritating.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Plenty of hot water before 8 am and after 9 pm. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant front desk staff.
Cons: Outside only tables for dining. Waiters set up for breakfast at 6 am dragging tables and chairs around. The outside music starts at 7 am and is loud enough to be heard out in the street. The housekeeing staff starts dragging around the outside benches at 7 am. The housekeeping staff will literally mop around your feet while you are trying to open the door to your room. The rooms are in general disrepair, the bathroom shower enclosure was filthy & there was mold in the concrete surrounding the tub. No blackout curtains so between the noise and the 5:30 am sunrise, this is not a place where you can come to relax in quiet.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was great
Cons: Bed not comfortable
7.9 Good
Pros: The location and friendliness of staff in reception.
Cons: The staff in the restaurant was very inattentive. The room we had opened to the patio where the restaurant is and the door didn’t seal at all, so you could hear everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and facilities. Friendly staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location a lot! It is right by the arch so it is very easy to navigate around.
Cons: The room that I got was close to the street and restaurant. So it was very loud in the morning. I don’t think that the restaurant should play music since like 6 am because the rooms can ALL hear the music and the people eating.
