Hertz ripped me off
Cons: I didn´t like that Hertz charged me more than my reservation. I made a complaint but neither Hertz nor Car Rentals would do anything about it. They´ve also charged for something I dind´t asked for.

Pickup issues
Pros: The staff was polite and helpful.
Cons: We waited for the Hertz shuttle at the airport for over 25 minutes before finally just taking a cab. We try to call them and got no answer. We also tried to use their FaceTime at the kiosk inside the airport, but we're unable to reach them.

Wait, upgrade
Pros: Upgrade to Nissan SUV was nice but it's a big vehicle for a British back roads. Everyone seemed to be getting an SUV or Mercedes- thank goodness she didn't try to give us the latter.
Cons: Lengthy wait at pickup, no one in LGW North Terminal office at all for first 10+ min. She called for help and help came, though, and everyone was friendly.

Didn't rent the car
Pros: location was good, near airport with all the other rentals
Cons: but when we arrived, the rep told us the car we ordered was too small and tried to upsell us for an extra $300 a week. So we cancelled and got an Avis rental car at much better price. Beware that if you want an automatic instead of manual, they will charge $500 extra per week, so hope you can drive a standard

Waste of time
Cons: The price tripled once they added insurance. It would have been nice to know that before I went all the way out there to pick up the car.

Cons: When I needed to drop the key off in Southampton airport, the airport was close and the drop box was inside the main building in terminal but unfortunately, the gate of terminal was close as well. I had to call the security there to take the key from me and they dropped it off by them self instead of me.

Extra Help Appreciated
Pros: Short line. Pleasant, engaging attitude. Asked whether I'd like an automatic? Thought for a moment and said "yes." They worked a deal, brought the car around in a flash, and actually sat with me to explain where everything was - and how to work the satnav. Haven't had that kind of attention in the US in a LONG time.
