It was conveniently located to the sea wall and Stanley Park. Our room had an amazing view of the harbor as well.

The breakfast buffet was mediocre for $28 per person. We did have to do our own housekeeping and asking for towels and toilet paper due to strike.

    Good location and facilities

Hotel staff was on strike and did not provide any housekeeping services to guests. No concession or complimentary voucher for f&b, massages etc was offered by the hotel despite the obvious disruption to guests' stay. They even had the gall to offer to charge hotel guests extra (and which payment would be credited as Marriott club member bonus points) should any guest wish to obtain housekeeping services during his stay!

Difficult to rate usual level of functioning as a Labour dispute was taking place, so not all usual levels of service available. In that instance I would have expected a discount of prices, but it wasn’t even offered.

    Location and views

They had a labor dispute that shut off virtually all services and management made no effort at all to compensate guests for the disruption, including intentional conduct by the strikers to wake up guests at 7AM every day.

I traveled to Vancouver with friends and business associates that were visiting me from overseas. I reserved 2 rooms with Bay view at Westin Bayshore because I wanted to impress my guests with the hotel and the water front location. When we arrived there, the hotel looked very crowded. I told my self that they must be full. It appears that I was right... The staff at the reception told us that they have some maintenance issues with our rooms and they've booked us 2 rooms at a different hotel in Vancouver with breakfast included and they will pick up the tab. Well, the breakfast we did not care for, the hotel was way bellow the Westin Bayshore, the location was no water front and we had no views. Therefore I am giving this rating based on our expectations and the actual way bellow our expectations experience.
