The location, the comfortable bed, the beautiful downstairs bathroom
Worn carpets, dangerous stairs to the backyard patio. Spider webs all around the bedroom ceiling.
I stayed here for 5 nights while attending a conference in Toronto at a 2nd floor room. It’s very close to Ryerson university. The bed was super comfortable & the kitchen provides coffee tea breakfast & lots of different fruits with all day access. The bathroom is shared but close enough to my bedroom. It can be noisy outside on a Saturday night, but all other days were quiet enough to have a good night sleep. It’s about 45 mins walk to the water front. The Internet was super fast during my stay. I travel a lot & I think this B&B is good value for money for a city like Toronto. I would stay again if I’m in town next time.
I was very impressed by all of the creamer options they had available.
No staff present. This is a big old house filled with strsngers. There were 3 toilets for 8 or more guest bedrooms. Also, a toilet backed up twice in one day. This might be a hostel, but it is NOT a B&B.
The code to open the front door is feely distributed. Not secure. There is daily cleaning, but the baseboards are caked with years of dust. The house itself is an old victorian and of course, upkeep must be challenging, but the stair carpeting has big holes in it, as does the modern replacement flooring in the blue bedroom.
The room was nice, the staff were very helpful (they allowed me to leave my luggage there after I checked out and I could pick it up later to explore Toronto a bit more) and the breakfast was really good.
A lot of noise outside because students across the building were holding a rooftop party but it ended around 10pm, so not too bad.
Located in Toronto (Downtown Toronto), McGill Inn B&B is within a 10-minute walk of Ryerson University and Yonge-Dundas Square.
