Tangier hotels near Petit Socco

Pros: Central location.Nice View,and close to City Center and restaurant.

Cons: Each Room has minor issue AC or TV or Plumbing but ok it can be solved.Decor is great nicea and Elegant.

Cons: Unprompted, they cancelled my reservation a at before I arrived.

Pros: Good breakfast

Pros: Clean safe hotel after a few days of staying in the Medina, which can wear out a westerner.

Cons: Desperate for a cocktail and one of the few hotels to have a bar, they had zero idea how to make a drink.

Pros: We had a great time at the Hilton Garden Inn in Tanger. Clean room, nice bed, amazing and considerate staff), especially during breakfast (great selection of local and western food, eggs/omelet cooked to order, try the Bissara soup - yes, for breakfast). Located near the waterfront and beside a shopping mall (part of the Hilton Complex). Walking distance to Medina (4-5km).

Cons: The only thing I can think of is that during dinner at the restaurant there seemed to be two different pieces of music being played at the same time, from different rooms. Slightly annoying but no big deal. I'd rather seem the hotel focusing on its local culture rather than playing jingle bells on a loop.

Pros: The classic Moorish interior design of the public spaces was a big factor in selecting this hotel as well as the hotel's proximity to the ferry landing. The traditional tiled walls and compound arches, the unique light fixtures and the historical artifacts were all delightful.

Cons: The rooms were much less spectacular than the public spaces.

Pros: Lovely old-world charm. Original fittings and decor. Good service and helpful staff.great location in the centre of the Medina overlooking the port

Cons: Be careful you arrive at the corredt port as there are now two ports in Tangiers, Tanger Med Port is 50 km away from the town!

Pros: The staff was quite friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the roof terrace was simply marvelous - good food, great view. The hotel lobby and hallways were great, lots of character.

Cons: My room was small and not that attractive -- and was very musty-smelling. It wasn't a terrible room as these things go, a perfectly reasonable budget option, but I thought for the money it would have been a *little* nicer. I paid less and got a nicer room during the rest of my travels in Morocco (including in Fez & Marrakech.)

Cons: Rooms are very run down. Smells like smoke.

Pros: The staff are very helpful, although you must be able to speak French (like most of Morocco). It is very close to the ferryport, so you don't need a taxi as long as you take the catamaran from Tarifa to Tanger town and not the ferries from Algeciras which go to the new port 50km out of town. Very close to the medina for eating & shopping. Free wifi was a bonus.

Cons: The carpets in the room weren't very clean; some rooms have been refurbished but ours hadn't yet.

Pros: We came as a group of 8 the location was excellent for us as we came over int the ferry from Spain and was walking distance to the ferry port. It is not in the posh's part of Tangier but we only stayed 2 nights and found it very interesting and close to markets etc.

Cons: The area close to the hotel could be a bit intimidating at times.

Pros: It was cheap and didn't cause too much damage to pack up for another hotel. Staff was nice and helpful. WiFi worked great (granted the modem was right outside our door.) Interesting location...right in the center of Medina which can be seen as a good and bad thing.

Cons: Where to start. I may be a bit of a germaphobe, but this place was pretty nasty. It had the floor that you have in your elementary school cafeteria which didn't look like it had been cleaned in about a year. I seriously couldn't walk around barefoot. The bathroom was full of black mold and the shower didn't work. There was a big spigot that we had to try and use as a shower. And by the way, the sink was literally falling off of the wall, and it may have The blankets look like the ones that you buy on the side of the road that hang on fences, and the fact there was no AC killed it. We had to keep the windows open keep some cool air flowing which ended up inviting all the mosquitoes in for a bite fest. That led to waking up and holding the contest of who got bitten the most. We came during Ramadan which meant that day long fasts led to evenings where everyone was out and ate all night. You could hear people bustling until 5 in the morning, so if you're a light sleeper, like me, don't expect relaxing nights. Every time you get in and out of the hotel you have street hecklers begging for money or trying to sell you sometime, so it was the least relaxing place I've been to. We did meet some really nice people there that told us to stay inside after about 7:30 just because of the people that come out at night. I also got caught in a crowd there as we were walking back home and when it got to be a tight group I felt someone's hand reach in my pocket that I had my wallet in. I had to grab his wrist and yell at him in order for him to scram but just a little info on the nature of the area this hotel is in and what to expect. It wasn't relaxing but it was an adventure. We ended up moving to the Hilton and had a fantastic experience there.

Cons: It is nothing more than hostel quality, but treats itself like a fancy hotel. The staff was unhappy to help, whenever i needed help. Except for the 2 Mohammeds.

Pros: The bathroom was newly renevated, maybe. It was small, but it was clean.

Cons: It was a small cheap place. Not for long stays.
