Drop off was easy and the car was comfy.Cons:
I made a reservation for a compact car the day before at a specific location and I get to the pickup location and they tell me I have to drive another 15 minutes to another location because they were out of compact cars. That part was fine but a heads up ahead of time would’ve been great. The car I was given at the new location was dirty. The trunk was full of old receipts, a roll of raffle tickets and other trash. The cashier at the new location tried to charge me 30 dollars more than i was quoted. Luckily I caught it before he ran my card.10.0 Wonderful

My daughter and I went to Budget office in St Augustine, FL to pick up car. First off, hours online were stated as 'opens at 7'am. The employee was not there until going on 8am. Another person told us they didn't have any cars. It was stressful waiting for person to arrive to check. Lucky for me, they did have a car. Headed up the road (an hour plus late) for Concord, NC. Arrived after hours at Avis-Budget office so I had to ca,l Budget for instructions. 'Charlie's helped me get a new drop off spot at Regional airport. I had NO idea how to vet t hete but a friend said they would get me to the airport, which was only 5 miles away. I was instructed to get there before 9pm when they close. We found our way there by 7:15 AND THEY WERE CLOSED!!! Had to drop keys in Dropbox. No one to check car. E etc. POOR BUSINESS!! Susan StreiselHertz

staff at pick up was okay; polite; did not appear knowledgeable about the car nor have time to provide more than perfunctory direction to the best route to the hwy. staff at drop off was rudeCons:
the car was quite comfortable. the dash board lights were very bright resulting in dangerous discomfort and distraction at night. the radio was of very low quality and also shined brightly. I tried, unsuccessfully, to reduce the brightness.2.0 Poor

When I arrived at hertz, they made me wait over an hour as they didn't have any cars available and someone had to drive it from jacksonville. Then, there was inflexibility when I wanted to change my drop off location. They wouldn't let me even during difficult times like COVID. Then, I received erroneous additional charges on my credit card. Horrible experience. And customer service was incredibly rude.3.6 Poor

Cons:
Hours published as if open all day long. Came back to put spouse on, note on door they would be back in fifteen. We were able to find someone quickly, but no one mentioned that the office could be closed when I was told he’d have to come back in. Also, we’ve never had to pay for a spouse driver before, only extradrivers beyond that. Spouse driver was additional $13.50.5.6 Fair

I was not made aware by Kayak or by Hertz that there was an additional "concession fee recovery" charge equaling $62.35 tacked on to the rental amount. When I asked the agent he said this was because I picked the car up from the airport. If I had picked the car up at another location the fee would not have been applied. I could have just as easily rented this car from another location near by. I believe that both Kayak and Hertz are responsible. The agent also said that if I had booked directly with Hertz instead of going through a third party they would have made me aware. I feel like I have been ripped off. Last time I will use Kayak or Hertz to rent a car.Enterprise Rent-A-Car

It was good on gas. The rear back up screen helped in parking and backing up.Cons:
The car had an ant infestation problem. Every time I shifted to drive it went to the load gear. I picked it up in St. Augustine, not JAX.Avis

Actually I flew into Jacksonville, but mistakingly made the reservation at my destination, St. Augustine. The Avis Rep. in Jacksonville did am excellent job of getting us set up at the airport with a satisfactory car at a fair price10.0 Wonderful
