9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful and there were a few rooms to sit in for breakfast so you weren't sitting on top of others. Beds and rooms were comfortable and spacious.
Cons: The mirror in the bathroom has a light around the edges and it casts strange shadows and was hard to use when applying makeup. We were with another group and they too were very unhappy with the mirror.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Better light in bathroom for shaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decent breakfast selection, great parking options, safe and easy walk to ND.
Cons: The game weekend pricing but that’s to be expected as close to campus as it is.

Cons: They didn’t tell us the post game shuttle wasn’t coming for 2 hours
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect as we were going to Notre Dame. The staff could not have been more helpful. Jimmy and Preston ( drivers of the van) went out of their way to help us board with the scooters.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was very nice and friendly.
Cons: The room smelled. My wife let the front desk know that she thought it smelled a little bit like smoke and they said they have strict protocols if it did smell like smoke so it probably wasn’t smoke. I’m not sure what the smell was but the room smelled, maybe it was the Heater being run for the first time or maybe the room is just old and smells I’m not sure. The door wouldn’t latch when you shut it. I’d have to shut the door three or four times before it actually stayed shut. The next night we stayed at the Hilton next door because they didn’t have a room for us to stay Saturday night here and I wish I would have stayed both nights at the Hilton. Next time we will. It was 100 dollars cheaper per night as well. Spending 400 a night for a room I expect more out the room.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: They were ready for me. Room was nice nad the breakfast was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, amazing hot breakfast!
Cons: No pool
10.0 Excellent

Cons: The parking area is a bit small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were super welcoming to us and let us know great places to go. The breakfasts are incredible. We had let them know when booking our stay, that one of us cannot eat gluten, thinking that would just save them time and food to not serve one of us the bread, pastries, etc. To them that did not mean what they cannot serve, it was what CAN they make in it’s place. Alice went above and beyond making sure everyone was included in the delicious breakfast, making special gluten friendly options in addition to the regular options. The rooms are exquisite. All you would expect when you pull up and see the gorgeous Inn. The grounds are breathtaking! They really pay attention to detail in the rooms. And we can’t leave this review without mentioning their bed linens! You feel like you are sleeping in some of the softest sheets you have ever felt. We had our own balcony off of our room. For two people who work in the Corporate world, just sitting out there looking over the beautiful grounds of the Inn was a great way to unplug and relax. Tom and Alice were fabulous. We highly recommend The Oliver Inn!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely characterful property. Lots of old-world feel but didn’t go over the top and feel fussy and cluttered. Owners are friendly and welcoming. Room clean, comfortable and a good size. Had a pleasant sit on the porch after settling in. Nice places to eat nearby. This B&B is very firmly recommended!
Cons: The plumbing is a little characterful - but hey, it worked, and that was part of the fun! Wasn’t a problem.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Architecture

Cons: Wish I had booked more nights.

Pros: It was very close to the Notre Dame campus, we were going to see a basketball game so it was great for that.
Cons: Well there was a wedding going on and it was very very noisy at night, people in the halls yelling and running up and down the hallway. It’s our fault that we never called the front desk to complain, had we known a wedding was there that night we would have booked another place.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our service at the front desk was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable bed. We will definitely be staying here again!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds are great.
Cons: Wish their was a Barista inside the bar, it would be more comparable to St Mary's INN right next door but better coffee than the starbucks. Try something like stumptown or another organic brand of coffee and train your baristas, this is a great way to make extra money especially from visitors who are not from the midwest.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, restaurant in house
Cons: For handicap room, bathroom was difficult to use. Standard toilet and tub. Handrail was in odd place making difficult to use facilities .

1.0 Poor
Pros: Great hotel!
Cons: The AC in our room didn’t work. Super hot.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The views were outstanding and the room design was excellent - very cool bathroom and very comfortable bed. The staff were extremely kind and welcoming....And parking was easy too.
Cons: The air conditioning was not as great as I would have liked - We stayed there in mid-August and it felt a bit humid to me during the middle of the night, even with the temp. set as low as the thermostat would go... Also, the design of the lobby and common area was trying a little too hard to be super "hip and cool "...(I am an architect, and for me it was bit dis-jointed visually and could have been simpler and more refined. But overall I like and applaud the renovation of this major landmark building in downtown South Bend.)
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice and modern... bar and common area with pool table a huge plus. The staff for checking in were friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Didn't like the $15 to park in the garage at hotel when I seen signs in town that all the other garages were free.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff was super amazing to work with; we had a small issue with our room and they were able to fix it quickly. The room itself was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. I thought that the price for the breakfast available for purchase was very good and the breakfast was fresh and delicious.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was a good location in regards to attending events at Notre Dame. Also, the woman who maintained the breakfast area on Friday, 9/27, was very attentive and friendly and seemed to care about her work.
Cons: Unfortunately, the overall experience at the hotel was poor. This was due to a variety of factors, most notably the hotel losing power on 9/27-9/28. We understand that some of this circumstance is out of your control, however there was a general lack of hospitality, staff assistance, and overall care for our well-being. A member of our party suffers from a medical condition that requires the use of an electronic device throughout the night, that was not able to be used without power. We find it shocking that a hotel of this size does not have a generator for such circumstances. We never once saw a staff member during the power outage. No one checked in on us or made sure we were okay. There were no staff providing lights/flashlights in order to get around the hotel. We could not believe that no one from the staff provided any coffee to us in the morning, much less any sort of breakfast (which should have been included in our room pricing). It's overall disappointing to pay over $200 per night and not be provided the BASIC necessities. Not sure we will trust La Quinta to take care of our family again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great. Wish breakfast would last til 10 AM.
Cons: N/a
7.1 Good

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Location, and Location! Different excellent restaurants for breakfast and dinner were both within a half-mile from the hotel. The hotel was very close to the airport.
Cons: No, not really.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great
Cons: It would have been great to have tea making facilities in room, being Brirish can drink tea all day
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: We were charged $20 for our 2nd dog. This has never happened at a La Quinta before. The manager Leondre said it's a new policy instituted by Wyndham. Wyndham has purchased La Quinta. Wyndham said that this property is privately owned and the extra dog fee is the owner's policy. The owner has not returned my call. The room smelled strongly of chemicals. There were gnats flying around in the room and landing on my tablet screem. The walls are thin and hallway noise is a problem. I could hear the man next door using the bathroom. Finally, the breakfast was awful. Powdered eggs and over seasoned mystery meat sausage, and low quality carbs.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Lots of beds
Cons: Bed was wet - we think the maid spilled water on it -
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location and room were good. Breakfast was above average for a warm meal. Checkout staff was much better than checking in.
Cons: I arrived late, she couldn't find my reservation, not very cooperative, a definite attitude, there was a communication issue. The room had a desk but no chair to work at the desk. Poor water pressure during my shower. Checkout staff was much friendlier.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The shower did not work. Water literally trickled out. The A/C barely worked and when it did kick on it rattled extremely loud. The beds were not comfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast, clean room, nice staff
Cons: Lost water pressure in the middle of showers

Cons: Unfortunately the weekend we stayed there was a storm and we had no power for about 16 hrs. My family tried to make the best of it. Having no hot water was definitely the hardest part. The staff really tried to make the best of it. However we paid 400$ a night for a hotel that is normally under 100$ night. It was very disappointing it happened.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was slim, we wanted to see more options.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Dirty sheets and rooms.
7.5 Good
Pros: I met the lady who drove the shuttle to the airport. She was friendly and helpful. I found out she works the graveyard shift and that includes the front desk, setting up the breakfast and driving the shuttle. She really deserves a big pat on the back.
Cons: Check-in person could have been more helpful. He handed me the keys without any instructions. They looked like Pizza Hut cards. Once I got to the door, I had to go downstairs. He instructed me at that time how to use this card to open the door. I would really like to have has an ice machine on every floor.

Pros: Good location, clean, modern, bright.

Cons: I don't know why hotels (not just Candlewood Suites) don't put the taller commodes in the non-handicapped rooms. SO, SO, SO low to the ground.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is a new build. High tech amenities
Cons: Needed a room key for lighting
5.8 Okay
Pros: it was a very bad experience we go there every year to watch a Notre Dame football game. We were told we could not get an early check-in unless we paid $110 as we sat in the lobby there are other folks checking in early. The elevator did not work there are no signs posted. When you go to the front desk that have a sign and you have to call a number to contact an employee who is sitting in the back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was clean an nice. Our check in person was great
Cons: Coffe at main entrance, there should be coffee on all floors.
1.0 Poor
Pros: I booked for 2 nights and only stayed one. I refused to stay another night.
Cons: There were stains on the bedspread and this was supposed to only a new hotel. Couldn't get lights to go on. And had to have front desk come and get the TV working.
6.3 Good
Pros: way over priced. we reserved months and months in advance. Got there for check in and the front desk clerk barely spoke English. pretty much grunted at us. I asked if hotel was fairly booked and he said no. I asked what the rate would be if I was checking in off the street and it was almost 1/2 of what we paid online booking. Terrible terrible terrible.
Cons: way to expensive and we were being gouged by booking early. the beds were not big enough to sleep together.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Really didn’t like anything about this property.
Cons: Really didn’t like anything about this property. The room was decorated with furnishings straight from iKea. If dorm room is what you are looking for, then this is for you. Bed ridiculously hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility was brand new and far exceeded my expectations.
Cons: It could have been better if a complimentary breakfast was included.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Big parking lot in the back for my work trailer.
Cons: We payed to have cable tv and there was a power surge that disabled the cable. I asked them if they could discount our room or give us as discount on a future stay and they would not accommodate for the inconvenience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean room and excellent location for those who are looking for a place to rest after a long drive.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location and it was very clean. The bed was a little uncomfortable for my liking because it was very firm but that is just my opinion. I like a softer bed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: unfortunately there was bad weather in the area that night and the cable kept going in and out, we arrived an hour earlier than checkin parking lot was empty and couldn't get in our room early, not too big of an idea but thought they could accommodate us early. Checkout was long, mist other hotels put your receipt under the door and you don't have to stop at the desk, only one person at the desk and it just took little too long. Hotel was very clean but the towels were a little thin.
