Cons: The hotel is going to change brand soon and you could feel this already. There was no manual in the room and the whole area felt a little bit abandoned and outdated.

Cons: Avoid the Chinese restaurant (the Dragon Court) like the plague. They're hugely overpriced - $80 for a small fish, fried up in batter! - with only moderately tasty food, and the service is terrible.

Cons: Noisey as there was construction outside the window! Also the only entrance to the beach was right in front! But these are short term hassles! Also no breakfast! We have stayed before and we’re hoping for the breakfast!

Pros: The accommodation and the hotel infrastructure were good. The rooms were spacious as were the toilets. The ambiance and surroundings were nice.
Cons: The amount of English spoken was dismal. The food was barely ok and they appear to run out of most things and were very rigid about no more ordering when the initial dish did not meet expectations. A lot of items ran out on the buffet breakfast, which was not good to start off with. A really disappointing breakfast which ruined the overall experience.

Pros: The location is very peculiar. It's essentially the reproduction of a German black-forest village in the middle of a Chinese mountain complex. Kind of interesting to see (although it's definitively not something i would see in my first - or second - trip to China). Moreover, if you walk an half hour uphill you get to some really spectacular scenery. Hotel is basic, bur rather clean. Amenities are ok. Breakfast, if you can stomach traditional Chinese breakfast food, is plentiful. There's a pretty cool swimming pool.

Cons: There is one big problem for the hotel: it's designed for Chinese people only. Most of the staff is below basic English levels and will be of no help. Morever, even if they get what you want, they lack standard hotel services: they won't call a taxi for me, nor let me put dinners on my room bill (had to pay on the spot). I strongly suggest coming prepared with a translation app. Food (breakfast included) is Chinese only, no international stuff.
