having used major rental companies many times during the year, one expects to get in/out of airports quickly. Sixt customer service is poor, the cars are old and not cleaned. they try to sell you insurance and upgrades in every occasion by telling you car is not ready. on return most likley they hold you responsible for scratches that you as a individual generally don't notice when you pick up cars so they can claim damages from you.INTERRENT

On a 3 day rental the price between competitors is pretty close- so to be told there was a 30 Euro charge for fuel servicing before even getting the vehicle is outrageous. There is no option not to pay this- even if you return with a full tank- and guess what, it's in the small print on your voucher, but which you only get after you have already paid and booked. Ended up liking the car we had althought an SUV in Europe is a little large when it comes to finding parking.Cons:
My fault we missed out check in time by a about 3+ hours and were informed only hold car for 2 hours. And said had no cars. Felt offered most expensive car on lot with not a lot of help, kind of take it or leave it. Felt a little held over a barrel. Pros:
The car was a Fiat 500 hatchback and was an excellent car, especially for the price. It was a manual transmission so may have been a little less expensive but I enjoyed the driving. If you are not comfortable with a manual, because of the hills and need to squeeze into and out of parking, you may want to get an automatic transmission. The only problem with driving in Spain is the fuel prices are 2x the price in the states and, if you want to get from one city to the next quickly, you need to pay very high tolls.
