We were visiting Mexico over the holidays to see relatives who live in Queretaro and chose the hotel based on location, ratings and feedback from our family that knew of the hotels reputation. The rooms are quite comfortable, all looking out on a lovely courtyard with a pool. The beds are excellent as well as the pillows and obtaining some extra pillows was no problem. They do use a room spray that is very strong and somewhat overwhelming, so if you are sensitive to perfumes this could be a problem. Great shower and bathroom amenities including robes. Additionally, the location to the Centro is excellent. (Two blocks from the Plaza de Armas)We were able to walk to the main sights in Queretaro with ease. And even though we were visiting over the holidays, obtaining an Uber from the hotel location was easy.
The breakfast that is included is very limited. The eggs were overcooked and my daughter found a hair in hers, yuk. The waitstaff needs some work as the wait times for coffee etc. are long. Also, they seem generally uninformed about additional menu items. Front desk help is also in need of some retraining. For instance, upon arrival in the evening my daughter asked for tea and was told that there was no hot water available. Later we discovered that the Nescafé machine in our room had tea pods, but the porter never pointed that out to us, nor were they clearly labeled. On a night that we asked the front desk for supper recommendations, the receptionist struggled with ideas. As the hotel sits on a street that is filled with restaurants, you would assume that a hotel of this quality would have a list readily available. We were recommended to a restaurant down the street where both the food and service were mediocre at best. The hotel has a pool, but the water could have been a few degrees warmer for a December visit. Additionally, we spent an afternoon at the pool and never once during that time were we approached by anyone at the hotel to ask if we needed drinks or food. Our stay was over the New Year, and no one at the front desk bothered to inform us about the large New Years Eve party at the hotel, which was in the courtyard by the rooms. We returned from being with family at 2 am to a party that had ended(thankfully DJ gone) but a number of people who had continued to party even closer to the rooms until after 3:00 am. New Years day a breakfast buffet was offered but we sat for 15 minutes waiting for coffee before my daughter who speaks fluent Spanish was able to discern from the hostess( busy with paperwork) that this option was available to us. Sadly, the buffet offerings were not labeled and items were not refreshed. Again, service and food were a big disappointment.
The smell, location, architecture, service , the details, parking. This hotel is beautiful, the construction, all the chairs, the vases, the pictures/frames , they have and exquisite style, the bed and sheets of the bed is comfy and the sheets of the bed are of great quality. The service is beyond extraordinary, all the people treat you so good, since we arrived they open the doors of the car and pick up the car to the parking with only one call you can have your car again 24 hours, they take the bags to your room, the check in is so fast and if you forget your toothbrush they are going to have it for you, something that I love was the eco friendly package for some of the bathrooms products (not all) but they are in their way to excel it. The smell, I don’t know what it is the fragrance but it smells so good, is not a hard or nausea smell, are little notes of stay here smell. Location, is it at the heart of Queretaro downtown and all the taxi services are cheap to go to any places.
the suit room was very nice and clean, equipped good, the breakfast and dinner was very yummy. its looked beautiful inside.
the shower was clogged a little when i booked i told them its our wedding night, i was hoped they will decorate it a little or put something.. but nothing..
This a lovely, intimate oasis within the centro of Querétaro and the perfect spot for a getaway from Mexico City. The staff were overall very good, with one notable, lazy exception. Beds were comfortable, but the 'double' beds were very narrow.
The hotel would do well to adapt some of its rooms to be fully wheelchair accessible.
