No shelf space in the bathroom Stupid facet in the bathroom sink Could barely wash your hands water every where
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean. Old World atmosphere :).
The smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in at any price. When you pay in excess of $300 per night for a room, you would expect to be able to open the closet door more than 40% of the way before it bangs into the foot of the medium-sized bed. Barely enough open floor space to accommodate our luggage. Glad we had plenty of outside activities planned.
Location was great. Hotel was below par.
Added fees, cleanliness. I booked for my birthday and got no special treatment... At other hotels you usually get something.
Staff in breakfast cafe, door staff and concierge good.
Check in and bar staff communication could be improved. Star bar closed but no extension to main bar for customers returning from trips. However, worst issue was the additional service charge added each day (c. 35 usd per day) for no value as the hotel did not have any additional facilities. I have since been in 2 hotels on my us holiday that have not charged additional facility / services charge and the value for money and facilities available are much better on a like for like cost basis. I would not recommend the sir Francis drake to any friends or colleagues
It is great location. I booked deluxe room, therefore it was on a high floor with a great view. Staff was friendly, room was clean. I wanted to stay at this hotel for quite sometime but I won’t stay again because the only advantage is location.
Room is not comfortable. Even though there was enough space, but there is no comfortable chair to sit down and watch TV, you can only do it in a bed. Bathroom is extremely small. No coffee maker. you can hear everything from the room next door, isolation is bad. Hotel doesn’t have room service, you can’t even order coffee in the morning, need to go outside to get anything. Hotel charges amenity fee of $29/night plus tax for.... nothing you will use. In exchange for this over $30 fee they give you $10 per day voucher to restaurant downstairs, which you may or may not use. The rest is all blurb such as newspapers in the lobby. Restaurant is adjacent, but it closes at 10pm. When I didn’t feel good at 10:15pm and asked how I could get a cup of tea, no one could help. Any extra fee can be charged only per service used. Otherwise it’s a manipulation. Shame on IHG... They refunded one night fee after we complained but as an exception. Staff member was very polite though and tried to show his compassion.
