the hostel is located in Rio vermelho which is very good for night life ! the staff were helping and english speaking. the rooms are modern decorated and clean. you have an spacious locker in the room. and a good view from the rooftop.
the bathrooms were not satisfactory for me , I would take care of them more often during the day. I had a 4 bed room, The room was very dark and had a very samll window ! it was loud during night because of the window which opens to the Duct containg all the air conditioners.
Location convenient to beach, restaurants, bars, public transportation
Internet wasn't solid enough for me
The location is great, absolutely can't fault it.
Don't be fooled by the pictures, it looks very different in real life, the pool is very small. It wasn't that clean, the bathroom curtain was shredded for example, there was a dead cockroach in my dorm bathroom when I arrived and the smell of damp. The breakfast is very basic, even for a hostel, it's quite standard in Salvador for eggs to be offered, as well as cereals and cake, but this wasn't offered at the hostel. I ended up having my breakfasts at nearby hotels for a decent price. The staff and other travellers weren't very friendly, no one spoke to me my entire stay. English speakers are definitely few and far between. Also, something happened on my first night there at about 11pm a girl was screaming, I believe at the entrance door to be let in (there are no keys, someone works 24/7 around reception) it sounded like she had been or was being attacked. It was terrifying, people started running from all over the hostel, I still don't know what really happened, as English was limited no one was able to tell me anything. Although I decided to stay in Salvador for longer, I changed to a different hostel.

The other guests in my room, no hostel people ,
Everything was perfect. Great location next to a nice and quiet beach. There are a bunch of bars and places where you can eat or have a drink just 2 min walk from the hostel. The staff speaks English and it can be very useful as no one else does.
