If you're traveling from abroad to Québec City in Canada and want to rent a vehicle, you may need an International Driving Permit to be allowed to rent. While a state-issued driver's license from the United States may suffice, an additional permit may be required, depending on who you're trying to rent from. Check before you travel because the permit can be easily acquired in your home country ahead of time. You will also need proof of insurance unless you opt to add the rental agent's insurance coverage at an additional fee.
Car rental at Québec City Airport is conveniently located throughout the airport complex on the ground level, near the administrative building. There are rental agencies located near the restaurants by Gate 30, as well as several others along Rue Principale that runs throughout the main terminal. All of the rental agencies are accessible whether you're picking up or dropping off your rental at Québec City Airport.
The most common method of payment is a credit card. Some rental agents will accept cash, money order, or a debit transaction to reserve a rental car but more documentation may be required for international travelers renting. Paperwork such as a return itinerary with flight information for example. Check with the specific rental agent you've booked through KAYAK to confirm what you need and which payment options are available. Whichever way you pay, the transaction will be in Canadian dollars.
Car rental companies that offer shuttle or pick-up services from Québec City airport to off-airport locations include Ace, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Discount Car & Truck Rentals, DISCOUNT.QUEBEC , Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hertz, and National.
Pros:At pick up, the receptionist requested more money than specified on my reservation.
Cons:I should have paid the amount on my reservation.
Pros:Pleasant employees and gave us a great car. So quick and easy at Quebec City Airport.
Cons:Although I booked on a Canadian website, and went to a Canadian place the booking ended up being in American dollars which made it not really a deal.
Cons:Charged 50 percent more at the airport
Pros:Everything was great, friendly staff, great car. and zero issues.
Cons:Drop off procedure was not clear. To be fair its airport set up and not Hert's policy. After hours drop off was not clear, but we figure it out.
Cons:We could have been told extra features we didn't see we had such as the GPS which we didn't recognize for three days.
Cons:Car should not be in fleet. All seats were full of coffee/ drink stains. Very piggish. Car was very misused and with high mileage.
8.0 Very Good
Pros:Easy to collect car
Cons:No clear instruction that I had to drop the car in a parking garage and then drop the key and parking ticket in the Budget/Avis office INSIDE Hilton Hotel.
Pros:Great service and hassel free.
Pros:Counter person was very professional. Excellent service.
Pros:Pick-up and drop off were simple and quick. Very pleased with the crew at the Quebec airport.
Pros:Pick-up and drop-off was a breeze. Nice enough little car.
Cons:The inside of the car's windows were very dirty (covered in that new car "film").
Pros:Staff is Quebec was polite, professional, and helpful. Car was clean and in excellent condition. Drop off was super easy
Cons:No changes necessary.
Pros:The behaviour of the personal at the drop off
Cons:They gave us the car dirty and nobody came with us to check if the car was ready or not
Cons:NOT A FULL SIZE PICK UP! Ad advertised full size. I booked for a full size. Should get a fleet of full size pick ups. Would of made my life a lot easier.
Pros:Excellent welcoming from M. Murray. Thank you
Pros:Ease of service, blind spot warning sensors, friendly desk staff.
Cons:Driver's seat lever to move seat forward/back didn't work; no Enterprise parking space left at drop off; car horn blast on locking car with wireless key--what's the point?
Cons:Return faster the deposit needed
Pros:Well, we reserved 2 vans, but when we came to pick up, they did not have the vans, so they upgraded us to a Ford Flex. We did like the Ford Flex so that worked out well.
Cons:Luckily, even though we reserved a van - which is why we went with National, because they showed to have a van. When showed up to pick up, they did not have the van we reserved, so they gave us a Ford Flex. We did like the Ford Flex, so it worked out fine.
8.8 Very Good
Pros:Overall a good experience
Cons:A little pricey
Cons:I'll appreciate to have the opportunity to drop off the car Down town instead of the airport.
8.0 Very Good
Pros:At first I thought taking a large pickup vehicle would be abit excessive for two. However, with a full tank of fuel already provided and plenty of legroom inside the car it made the 8hr journey to our destination totally worth it. The car also had a great stereo system!
Cons:Nothing, although would love to drive a manual next time.
Pros:we got to the counter before they were open. Agent opened early so we could get going on the road
Pros:Everything was perfect.
Cons:The price was too high. Said that, Alamo was among the only few companies offering the service of dropping the car in Montreal, so good job.
Pros:The car was clean and roomy.
Cons:The car I reserved and expected to drive was apparently unavailable and a Kia Soul was the replacement. Your agent assured me that it was an upgrade but I found that it lacked power especially when passing and climbing hills. Rear window visibility could have been better. The radio tone was muddy.
8.0 Very Good
Pros:No lines, attentive attendants.
Cons:Car pick of was a bit of a point in the direction we should walk, but we found it.
