Staff was amazing nice and friendly Very helpful
Rules for the restaurant and all the different smells. At one time the water was brown.
there was a 24hr coffee cafe. It was adult only which was the main booking reason.
The food was just okay. The breakfast buffet was the same every morning. The dessert was always some kind of gelatin consistency. I love dessert and there wasn't really anything chocolate to chose from.
We were a group of 5 women, 3 of whom were celebrating our 60th birthdays. We all wanted to eat at one of the restaurants on the first night but were unable to get in to any of them at 830 pm. We were told at each one that they had too many guests staying in the hotel and it would be over 1.5hrs to get a table. We ended up eating at the buffet which was pretty average. The second night we ate dinner in the seafood restaurant but in order to get a table we were advised by the staff to get there at 6 pm. Normally this is far too early to eat dinner for any of us, but we followed instructions to ensure we could get a table. Advertising 4 restaurants should mean that they are all available. Also when we were checking out of the hotel, we were asked if we needed a taxi into Playa Del Carmen by the bellboy and we said yes we did. I went and asked the concierge, a tour guide and the front reception staff how much we should pay for the taxi into Playa for us all. The bellboy who booked the taxi for us told us double the amount the other staff had all said. I questioned him about this, but he was adamant. I still wonder if he ended up with his own commission on the side as the taxi driver told me at the end of the ride that the amount had been organised by the bellboy. I think overall that the staff were a lot friendlier on my last stay there and would not stay there again.
The staff was extra friendly
The food was horrible and got me sick, I was stuck in the room until checkout. The A/C barely worked and my room was “moist” majority of the time. On the second day my partner got sick along with other people who came for the wedding. It was not an emoji table experience at all.
The Oceana was by far the best restaurant. Actually, all the restaurants near the beach area were really good.
Avoid the sushi in Himitsu but definitely check out the teppanyaki show if you can get a seat. Was very enjoyable.
