The complimentary taxi was great. The drivers were superb - Rick and Charles. Both knowledgeable and went out of their way to help in little ways. They added value and differentiated this place from others - thank you guys. Also the catering manager Hannah - awesome and gave us an alternative list of sites in Pittsburgh.
I stated I didn't have a car when we checked in - I was charged parking on a daily rate, even when I said I didn't have a car. Then the practice of daily charging for 'incidentals' is so annoying when you don't incur charges. Its like they don't trust you and assume your going to wreck a room. They have your CC details and could check at the end of your stay and charge then, or check the room on a daily basis when it gets serviced to see if there is any damage. Every time you questioned the practice you felt you were dismissed and not trusted. Its not a good basis to run a hotel when you pre charge your guests and for that reason only, I'd be reluctant to return. If that practice stopped, I'd be back.
helpful staff, clean
pool out of order, no ice machine no vending machines
Didn't eat there.. I will give kudoos for the 3 shuttle drivers Charles, John and Rick.. They were awsome. couldn't ask for better people.. Staff was great too.
First of all the ice machine on 4th floor was out of order so we had to go up or down a floor to get ice. Second, the swimming pool was out of order and we could not use it. third, our king bed squeeked and made noises. I'm thinking of another hotel for my next trip. We come out at least 4 times a year for baseball and hockey games.. Is the Cambria getting run down? Even the 3 flags in front of the hotel are in poor shape..
Proximity to the city as well as U Pitt.
One elevator and the pool were out of service the time that we were there
Staff was mostly pleasant, clean and stylish room
No walkable nightlife, pool closed
After recently completing a multi-million-dollar renovation, Cambria Hotel, Pittsburgh brings even more contemporary flair and sophistication to downtown Pittsburgh. This hotel is ideal for Pittsburgh Penguin hockey fans, as the PPG Paints Arena is next to the property.
Located in an area just outside the heart of downtown Pittsburg, Cambria Hotel offers an enticing combination of location, modern facilities, and affordable rates. The hotel's 142 suites are spacious and are equipped with mini-fridges, microwaves, Keurig coffeemakers, and sleeper sofas. There are two full-service restaurants and bars located on-site and more eateries just a short walk away. The hotel has a free shuttle that brings guests anywhere within a three-mile radius, which travel to Market Square in the city center and The Andy Warhol Museum.
Most of the amenities cater to guests attending sporting events and concerts at the arena. An event bar, Share on Centre, features pre-event drink specials, live music, and locally-sourced food all served on a large patio overlooking the arena and skyline. The hotel’s primary restaurant, Social Circle Bistro, serves American classics for all meals. Among other highlights are the 24-hour fitness center, a small indoor pool and a whirlpool, and a business center for up to 300 people.
This upscale, full-service hotel offers business and leisure travelers alike the perfect combination of high-tech and home-like amenities. There are unique food options and plenty of opportunities to explore and learn the history of Pittsburgh.
