We booked a mini-suite but this turned out to be on the 3rd floor (no lifts) which was unsuitable for 70+ year olds with moving problems but the hotel quickly changed the room to one on the 1st floor which was excellent overlooking the river and Perth bridge - ideal for us.
Unfortunately we could only stay one night on this visit, but definitely plan to return and stay longer. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming and we were given the Tay Suite overlooking the river which was a lovely room with an old world charm - which often lacking in hotels today
Lack of hot water for bath and showers
Friendly staff with great central location. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Excellent breakfasts too.
the location for shopping trip
finding a place to park. the food was very poor
room was fantastic and restaurant (with view of Tay) was lovely-particularly loved our high tea experience
car parking a bit of a problem
Due to the hotel being quiet we were offered a choice of two suites which was really nice. We liked the hotel and staff.
Only downside was no one around at night to serve us in the bar after one initial drink so we just had to go back to the room (it was only about midnight).
Pleasant surroundings and facilities.
The view of the River Tay was great. The breakfasts were pretty good as well. All of your staff was very nice and accomodating.
You need a bellman or porter. There are many stairs and it is very difficult to carry up your luggage alone. My Mother was with us and she is 76 years old and unable to carry her luggage up several flights of stairs. It was unfair that the ladies at the from desk had to help us get our luggage to our room. The parking situation was terrible as well. I know this is a very old hotel but the parking spaces were very difficult to get into at the side of the hotel and many nights it was already full.
All good
No complaints
Central Helpful staff
