Picking up the car at Charles de Gaulle airport was not ideal as the Location we had been told to use in terminal 2 redirected us to another location in terminal 2F, a long walk with luggage. Apart from that the staff were friendly and helpful and the vehicle was comfortable and economical. Dropping off the vehicle in St Malo was straightforward as it was Sunday and the office was closed so the keys were put in a drop box. I would use Europcar in the future

Pickup was really slow- like watching paint dry. Took 90 min to get our car. The process seemed really inefficient, nothing was automated. Last thing you want after a long plane ride was to spend 90 min waiting for your car.

We were scheduled to pick up our rental car from CDG at 8:00 am. No body showed up at the counter until 10:00 am and there were 4 groups of people who had already been waiting for up to 2 hours. One week into our trip the rental car started having issues with warning lights coming on the dashboard. We phoned Europcar and they told us a mechanic would be out there the next morning to look at it and meanwhile, not to drive the car. No one showed up for 2 days. When someone did show up, it was a tow truck that towed the car away, leaving us with no car. After repeatedly phoning Europcar, they finally told us that we could pick up a replacement car in Lyon, 3.5 hours away, and we would have to take a taxi there. This was a completely ludicrous request, so we were forced to then rent a new car from Sixt, who went out of their way to accommodate us. We will never use Europcar again. Highly recommend Sixt, whose service and cars are so much better.

Reserved category not available, Car not clean, misleading insurance coverage and cheated on gas. Return drop off on the other end was exceptionally good, pleasant and easy.

The car was perfect. It would have been extra helpful to have a bit of indications for the car return, finding the terminal is not so easy 😊

We had an economy car reserved for 7AM, and did not get a car until 8:30. The agents were rude, dishonest, and unhelpful. We waited for 1-1/2 hours after a transatlantic overnight flight with children who had not slept. The agents offered no information or help - just told us to wait. The car was smaller than the size we reserved, and we barely fit. Our kids had to sit on suitcases, but we still paid the same price. The dishonest agent insisted that our French credit card did not cover damages, and charged us an "obligatory" protection fee of 38 euros per day. Our card does indeed cover damages, but having not slept, I just agreed with the rude agent so that we could get out of there. To make a bad situation worse, the return office was surprisingly closed when we arrived on Saturday mid-afternoon (as scheduled), and they charged us an additional 25 euro key drop fee. This was undoubtedly our worst car rental experience ever.

Because we were just a little earlier to pick up the rental car, the employee did not allow us to get the car we reserved. He gave us two choices, either wait for the EXACT (?!) time we reserved the car or pay 145 euros more( about $175 more) for an upgrade car right away. Too obvious that was a scam to get more money out of us!!!!!! But after a long trip, we were too tired to fight this obvious scam, so we pay the extra money in order to continue our journey. I argued and tried to communicate respectfully with the employee at the front desk, but he always came back to those two options only possible. Ridiculous!!!
