To stay in the ryokan is a great opportunity to experience the Japanese culture. Also having the Japanese public bath is another positive point to be in this place. The location is perfect to enjoy the day and night market at Dotonbori.
This property is a little dated in look, but equally it has the tremendous service of yesteryear. We were met with kindness and helpfulness. The location in the heart on Dotonburi is terrific. While it’s in a busy area it’s quiet at night. We had a big room with a separate sitting area looking over the river. Beds were comfortable and linens were great. The onsen on the top floor was a big bonus and perfect after a long day out. The staff often went out of their way for us. I had been asking questions about something and the next morning I found a few printed pages slipped under my door with lots of answers and instructions about my inquiry. I loved staying here and would do so again.
It was adequate and the staff were very friendly, but we didn’t feel it was a proper ryokan. It felt like something designed for foreign tourists. It would have been great for 30€-40€ a night, but not 70€.
Overpriced, didn’t feel authentic. We could turn off one of the lights in our room.
The ryokan is a bit dated but it was clean and the staff was nice. It's tight in the middle of everyhing in Osaka.
Compared to other ryokan in the country side, I'd say the experience here was not as great (felt more like a hotel, with the exception of the tatami + futon arrangement). Meals need to be purchased separately, and they were not served in the room. It felt expensive for the value.
The staff were exceedingly welcoming, friendly, helpful and delightful hosts. The breakfast was a real treat and there were numerous places to eat in close proximity.
With a stay at Kaneyoshi Ryokan in Osaka (Namba), you'll be a 5-minute walk from Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade and 6 minutes by foot from Kuromon Ichiba Market. Featured amenities include luggage storage, an elevator (lift), and microwave in a common area.
